Good Evening!
Woe is me! A wet Australia Day has come and almost gone along with it the list of successful Australia Day gong winners and I’ve missed out again! If Sir Les P. can get a knighthood for what he does, there's still hope for the rest of us? hmm
I’ve now been on “hold” for 30 minutes with one of our Big 4 banks, waiting to discuss a “failed” credit card purchase. A lady repeatedley tells me “thank you for your patience. All our telephone operators are busy; please hold and we will be with you as soon as possible”
Fat chance! I made the fatal error of trying something on a Public Holiday. The “all” probably means he or she is on a coffee break
No1 Take that back! a lady has just come on after 40 mins, but can’t solve my problem after all!
I’d previously spoken with a lass at Classic Magazines in the UK and everything seemed to be going so well. Oh well, in for a penny in for a pound as my Mam used to say, so try again.
Spoke with Charlotte in the UK again and problem solved1 She took me through a manual procedure for payment, by-passing the automated security code which was blocking me off!
BBQs would have sizzled with rain falling on the snags today. What a contrast to the past heatwave.
Jaxjacky Lampard got the boot because Chelsea are not performing very well.
United was my Dad’s team so City was mine just to be different.
As far as I can recall he didn’t go for City because in his day it represented the Catholic side of town with United on the other side.
Much like Glasgie Rangers and Celtic I imagine!

*Jane I know they shouldn't be played indoors

That reminds me of a photo somebody posted on GN a couple of years ago of himself wielding a set of bagpipes in the kitchen, but it was obvious he wasn’t playing them because the lady at the adjacent kitchen bench wasn’t wearing ear-muffs, nor was she about to stick the knife she was holding into said pipes.
I can’t remember what he was trying to prove, although he was kitted out in kilt and sporran. Pehaps they were having Haggis for lunch! grin
It’s just past the witching hour so must get some sleep before attempting another visit to specialist in 10hours.
Good Health wine wine wine

Hi Rufus, well done Charlotte for sorting you out, you get the odd good un on these tortuous calls. Ah, religion and football...discuss!
Shame for all the barbies, whatever the occasion for a day off. Raining here and plus 5, the snow has all gone, getting colder at the weekend Saturday is predicted sleet, yuk.
Take care ?
