What is top of your list once this is all over?

I will probably do some of the things I do now which is walk the dog on the beach near my home. Buy local produce from the farm shop where the gin is made only 5 miles from the shop. I may add a little luxury to life by staying in a nice dog friendly hotel for a couple of nights and I will be able to go for coffee/lunch with a few friends. My children are scattered far and wide so travel may have to wait a bit longer.

Get a new sofa before current one collapses with over use.

We were supposed to be taking our darling gd and her mum and dad to Disneyland Paris last May which was cancelled and postponed until September - cancelled again of course. Hopefully we will be able to go when at last this is all over, unless we will be too blooming old to stand the pace. Also how lovely it will be to go out for a meal or the theatre. Or just go out ANYWHERE!!

Go on holiday, get a haircut and see the family.

Have a family party and celebrate all of those missed birthdays/hugs and x`s.
Then go to the static for weekson end and walk along the beach every day come rain or shine.

I will think about that when it is over....hahaha

NanaPlenty Thu 28-Jan-21 10:22:10

Go out out! See family as much as possible and have lunch with friends, get back to volunteering and make the most of life which whatever happens is far too short and I will never take anything for granted ever again ?

Knittynatter Thu 28-Jan-21 10:21:04

I bought a rail card last February and haven’t used it ! I’ll buy a new one and make sure I take full advantage of it ?

4allweknow Thu 28-Jan-21 10:20:46

Will this ever be over? If lucky enough that the world is free from this then I will just want to hug my family until I am considered a nuisance and then go and hug them again and again and.....

Witzend Thu 28-Jan-21 10:20:25

Oh, and the usual favourite-pub lunch with two former colleagues.
As one of them said when I spoke to him on his recent birthday, though, ‘If it’s still there...’ ?

My son-in-law suggested a nice holiday next year. My daughter, though, just longs to visit here. She says she dreams of sitting in my kitchen with a cup of coffee and a sandwich!

Family barbecue have missed at least 2 so far that we usually have each year and today is my nephew's 21st - another one missed!
Go shopping and be able to amble round the shops - desperately need some items of clothing that I won't buy online. Just to be able to actually see and feel the item before paying for it rather than playing sizes /quality roulette will be wonderful!

I would like to think, that once this is over, I will get to visit my daughter and granddaughters in Australia and the eldest dd and family will get over over from San Diego
Sadly as they are flights away, it may not be so easy

NannyDaft Thu 28-Jan-21 10:07:46

My family !

Berylsgranny Thu 28-Jan-21 10:06:45

Thank you all for responding. Reading all your lovely posts has lifted my spirits and hope all our wishes and dreams come true in the not too distant future. I shall of course be giving our family the biggest of hugs, having them over for a slap up meal whatever they choose and just enjoying their lovely company without worrying. Keep dreaming and smiling - we've made it so far. Just think of all the stories we've yet to tell. smile

See my grandchildren. Got for a meal out and then get in our Motorhome and go!!!

HannahLoisLuke Thu 28-Jan-21 10:02:50

If it’s summertime I shall invite family and friends to my garden for a lovely party to celebrate all the missed birthdays and Christmas.
That’ll do for now. My mind won’t go beyond that.

Have a huge family holiday at my French house. Get a hair cut.

Berylsgranny Thu 28-Jan-21 10:01:44

tiredoldwoman

Isolation has made me realise that I have a very small circle of friends . I'm going to become a YES girl , and go to social events instead of avoiding them .
Might even come to a Gransnet meet up !

Well done tiredoldwoman, make it happen! smile

A million cuddles with Gdcs. We’ve had so few with the youngest, first birthday a couple of weeks ago.

Get my hair cut!! I’ve been putting it up for months now, but I’m sick of it. Dh got me trimming his hair with the gadget yet again yesterday - he hasn’t got much! - oh, how I wished I dared ask him to do just a simple cut!
Sadly an ask too far for his otherwise excellent DIY skills.

Lilyflower Thu 28-Jan-21 09:58:58

Go down to my house in Devon and make whoopee!

Luckygirl Thu 28-Jan-21 09:58:40

Get hugging on a big way!!!! smile

Froglady Thu 28-Jan-21 09:58:24

Meet up with my friends from my reading group - have missed them so much as we used to see each other every Friday and haven't been able to since the first lockdown started as the libraries aren't allowing groups to meet in them yet. It was a great social occasion and we read, chatted and put the world to rights every week!
Then meeting up with an Open University group I belong to as I haven't seen them since we met up in the Isle of Wight in 2019. And we've lost 3 members in that time, one to Covid and 2 to other illnesses. I really miss their hugs!
My family live over 200 miles away from me so meetings with them will be later on.

I'd like to be able to make a trip to friends and old neighbourhoods - staying in a chain hotel without fear.
