Hello Argies, regulars and newcomers, after meeting Moneybags Mike this evening we have another year’s lease on the bar ( £8/10/6d! Daylight robbery)
Drop in here anytime for a chat, banter and a drink or three.
Every Friday is a ‘theme nite’ there may be a raffle and there is always humour along with strong poteen.

I wonder what tune the toilet seat would play? Great idea, and the designer pedestal mat! Inspired!
I’m having a long think about what to wear - something in my usual modest style I think, covering all bases, maybe inspired by Cher.

Lemon has been engaged more times than the toilets at Euston station. She loves getting presents

ixion Sun 14-Mar-21 10:17:26

Sorry for the spelling mistake.
Should read 'shandaleers'.

For design, a coronet ('lemon gets what we give her') with intertwined L and RR underneath?

ixion Sun 14-Mar-21 10:07:35

Hey, great idea doodle - we don't want to go tacky, do we?
If we had any money left over, how about one of those lovely pedestal mats you can get with your own designs incorporated?

I am currently getting my party outfit ready. Ploughing through James Bond movies for inspiration from the glamorous girlies with whom he frolics on yachts. Oh, and a fab channel I have just discovered called 'Gems Tv'. Beautiful jewellery and such reasonable prices. Sparkling earrings like shadaleers (I can always say that I borrowed them from a friend.......)

I think I will wear my inflatable boob top. Just in case I fall overboard it will help me stay afloat.
I have the perfect idea for an engagement present. How about one of those musical toilet seats. I’m sure lemon would love it, she always wanted to be a queen on her throne. ?

Keep it quiet, but what can we get for the couple who have everything for an engagement present? A seafaring llama? A lovely painting of all of us beauties in the Argy? A diamond encrusted vat for their poteen? Ideas please.
Who should we invite? Argy staff past and present? Or just we trusty and sensible few?

AGAA4 Sat 13-Mar-21 15:29:24

Argies? Lots of alcohol? On a yacht? think a few of us will go overboard in more ways than one. With that in mind I will wear my emerald studded bikini and my diamond tiara for a bit of class. Gold deck shoes too.
Thor and I will swim out to deliver the vat of poteen. I will wear my green and blue striped knitted cossie and Thor may or may not wear his thong.

lemongrove Sat 13-Mar-21 09:21:20

Why thank you .....a brilliant idea, our yacht will be back in harbour by next Wednesday, so Friday will be perfect!?
Wear your best bling m’dears.TTFN

grandmajet Sat 13-Mar-21 09:10:00

C’mon everyone, wake up! You all look so peaceful under the llama blankets, but we should really clean this place up before the lunchtime rush.
Confession of a Barman was a very instructive film, wasn’t it, although I had some very disturbing dreams.
Could we make our Friday night on the yacht an engagement party for Reggie and lemon? Lots of bunting and party poppers and a big cake - ixion could pop out of the cake halfway through the evening!

Doodle Fri 12-Mar-21 23:06:16

Yes, I want to come too. I quite fancy siping some bubbly on deck and shouting hello sailor to anyone who passes by ?

ixion Fri 12-Mar-21 22:48:49

Bags I splice the mainbrace!
I could wear my bell bottoms and matelot stripey top.
And a straw boater - or is that gondoliers??‍♀️

grandmajet Fri 12-Mar-21 22:36:46

Brilliant idea, ixion!
Pretty please, Lemongrove.

ixion Fri 12-Mar-21 22:23:37

Just pondering lemon, perhaps we could have a Friday night chez you and Reggie?
Tour of the yacht, canapés, cocktails. You know, a bit more upmarket, glad rags, bling.........
May we?

grandmajet Fri 12-Mar-21 21:54:40

Sorry Doodle, I thought it was llama droppings stuck to my frillies.

grandmajet Fri 12-Mar-21 21:50:35

Be careful you don’t end up in Grimsby, like poor ixion.

lemongrove Fri 12-Mar-21 21:49:03

Now you’ve snapped it in half! Have to buy more Caramac.
I try and get Reggie to port on a Friday night Doodle if at all possible, I have come dressed in PJ’s tonight as I hoped to have a sleepover.?

Doodle Fri 12-Mar-21 21:41:36

Hello lemon, knew you would be able to keep away.
Who sat on my Caramac and melted it ?
More popcorn here please and I’ll .................. is that Thor........I never knew he could do that with it......... you’d think it would break off wouldn’t you ?

lemongrove Fri 12-Mar-21 21:35:50

Just off to the cellar, I promised to launder Thor’s thong.

lemongrove Fri 12-Mar-21 21:34:09

Rich Reggie? Husband? No, haven’t managed to completely snare him as yet, but we are engaged! It’s a start. He has gone to see Dodgy Den about buying a new sports car, the yacht is moored in the marina until tomorrow, when we fuel up, do a Waitrose run and then off to sunnier climes.

grandmajet Fri 12-Mar-21 21:33:20

Ah, I thought I recognised his bit part!

grandmajet Fri 12-Mar-21 21:32:30

I wouldn’t ask, lemongrove, just drink.
I think the Admiral was overcome by the earlier showing of Pretty Woman, the x rated version.
Great film, by the way. The leading man looks familiar? Thor? He always said he used to be a thespian.

AGAA4 Fri 12-Mar-21 21:30:30

Seen it
Thor had a bit part

ixion Fri 12-Mar-21 21:29:17

Sorry- had to see a man about a dog?
Back now. Hi lemon. Where's your hubby?

lemongrove Fri 12-Mar-21 21:27:37

Sweet what? Fanny Adams?
I will stick to these cocktails, very familiar flavour, what’s in ‘em?
Why is the Admiral face down under a table? A little early for him to be a drunken sailor.
Here, I’ve brought a dvd .....this is a classic film, ‘Confessions Of A Barman’ , pop it in and bring the popcorn ( that’s a line from the film btw.)

grandmajet Fri 12-Mar-21 21:20:03

Right, now time for our sweet, eh, ixion? Caramac for everyone.
Not, not you Gnasher, remember the custard pie night?
