How many of you stay in your PJ's for the day?

Sometimes i do, but its not usually my style smile

Never. Might have a lazy day watching tv and reading but I always shower, dress properly and put make up on. I enjoy having time to think about what to wear and pamper myself. I vowed years ago never to let myself go. My mum died two years ago at 84 and was the same. Always looked lovely and made an effort.

I wake first and put on my dressing gown before making coffee. My husband likes to sleep in so I regularly stay in my dressing gown or bathrobe till he wakes, which can be as late as 11.30! With lockdown i think it really doesn’t matter. BTW it used to irritate me a few years ago but now I find I don’t mind at all!

Maude42 Fri 29-Jan-21 12:07:04

Oh gosh no , dressed, make up , perfume, nails painted . Even though I’m not going anywhere and no one to see it ! I would have to be in hospital to wear nightwear all day and even then they might have a fight on their hands

Nannan2 Fri 29-Jan-21 12:06:33

Well said Daddima and Doodledog- its nothing to do with 'standards', (what snobs that makes some of you sound)-if I've had a day relaxing a bit in one of my extra long t-shirt night gowns ill get showered before bedtime & don a clean nightie, i would not re- wear it back to bed a 2nd time, but i think this does not make me a sloven of any kind, or have 'lower standards' than any one else, and i wouldn't care what anyone else wears or doesn't wear as its up to them what they want to wear for their own comfort.?

Mollyplop Fri 29-Jan-21 12:00:56

Never, I have to go and feed the ponies in a morning so it's not an option. I do put them on really early in the evening in winter though.

Esspee Fri 29-Jan-21 11:52:05

I’m working through my wardrobe at the moment wearing everything in rotation before laundering. Things that I won’t wear again are being laundered and packed up to go to the charity shop when they start taking items again.

Right now I am wearing a rather sexy jersey crossover number. When the postman rang the bell with a parcel on Tuesday I was wearing a lovely evening dress. He smiled broadly. I said I was dressing up to put the bin out. The highlight of the week. ?

Theoddbird Fri 29-Jan-21 11:45:02

Goodness me no. I get up have breakfast and shower and get dressed. Why put night clothes back on after a shower?

GrammarGrandma Fri 29-Jan-21 11:44:48

No. I get up and shower or bath and get dressed every day. Even today when I have been awake since 3.15am.

Mollygo Fri 29-Jan-21 11:38:05

Definitely Doodledog. ?
I don’t often do it, but if I do it’s shower before bed and clean pjs.

Granless Fri 29-Jan-21 11:29:11

No! Get up 7pm .. drink cup of warm water .. watch the news .. shower at 9am .. choose which earrings to wear ? .. breakfast at 9:30am .. the rest of the day is mine to choose. If I stayed in PJs, I’d still have to change to go for my daily walk. My PJs are actually a nightie.

olliebeak Fri 29-Jan-21 11:29:00

I FREQUENTLY DO - unless I've got to go out somewhere really important.

LauraNorder Fri 29-Jan-21 11:24:06

Not for me, I like to get up, when I eventually wake up, get showered and dressed for the day. Pyjamas on again only when I’m about to climb in to bed at night.
Not judging, just stating personal preference.

Susieq62 Fri 29-Jan-21 11:23:48

I don’t possess pjs ?

Grandyma Fri 29-Jan-21 11:22:32

I have lots of PJ days. I don’t wear PJ’s in bed but have days when I get showered and put on PJ’s rather than getting dressed. So warm and snuggy!!

PamelaJ1 Fri 29-Jan-21 11:15:38

Like Doodledog I don’t think it’s about standards. I think it’s about about your attitude to life. I want to get on with something and pj’s just aren’t getting on with it clothes IMO.
When I’m working I wear a uniform and then I’m in working mode. When I’m in pj’s I’m in ready for a bit of relaxing mode.

Buffy Fri 29-Jan-21 11:08:06

No. I have to have a shower and get dressed even though I know the only person I might possibly see these days is the postman. Just habit I suppose.

Alioop Fri 29-Jan-21 11:06:20

I did last week as I wasn't feeling great with an infection and they kept me warmer than my leggings that I normally run around the house in. They get changed to jeans to walk the dog. A bath or shower in evenings and get in pjs to watch a bit of telly or read before bed, off in bed though as night sweats are terrible.

Daffydilly Fri 29-Jan-21 11:03:44

I've been off sick from work since December and expect to be for a few months yet (surgery for cancer and chemo). I make sure I get dressed every day, usually mid morning after breakfast. I don't want to get into the habit of slobbing around in PJs all day, nice as it is,sometimes.

I don't always put make up on but then I only really wear mascara and light foundation anyway.

Georgesgran Fri 29-Jan-21 11:01:51

I’m just not comfortable staying in night wear any longer than necessary. However, I’ve kept an ad for a long sleeved, zipped through kaftan and think I’ll send for one to sit around in at night.

Gingergirl Fri 29-Jan-21 10:59:42

If I’m wearing ‘nice’ and comfy ones, I do occasionally. If it’s a wet, dark, winters day and I’m not doing anything special, I find it comforting-and then the next day I’m more than ready for some ‘proper’ clothes.

Gwenisgreat1 Fri 29-Jan-21 10:58:35

Definitely not! But I do tend to wear old clothes, keep the better ones for when we can socialise

Florida12 Fri 29-Jan-21 10:56:47

Never, even in hospital I have to get dressed.

Lilyflower Fri 29-Jan-21 10:54:58

I might sometimes do some chores like ironing or Hoovering in my PJ's but then I get up properly, wash and blow dry my hair, put on clean, pressed clothes, add some jewellery and then, with my armour on, I can face the rest of the day. I have a to-do list, go for a walk or walks, read my book and have meals at set times.

I find having structure, routine and high standards gives some sort of shape and meaning to my life even in these dull, locked up times.

annifrance Fri 29-Jan-21 10:54:17

Hopeless in the mornings, but always dressed by lunch time. midday here and about to get dressed!

Moggycuddler Fri 29-Jan-21 10:52:12

Only when I don't feel well. Otherwise I get up and shower and change every day. I think it's important to avoid sliding into bad ways that can lead to depression, and I do it for the family too. I do sometimes change into a nightie and dressing gown after our evening meal, to relax for the rest of the evening. Maybe if I lived alone I might feel a bit differently, it wouldn't seem to matter as much.
