I would start a support thread if you were banned Trisher. Mind that would probably irritate you even more

The changing face of Gransnet?
(1001 Posts)I am a 'lockdown-joiner' to this forum, welcoming the opportunity join in with others who are similarly 'shut inside'.
I have been wondering whether people have found that the site has changed in any way over the last year?
Themes/quantity of posts/membership/patience/tolerance?
Just curious!
I think you’ve avoided upsetting the posters who had it in for Maw trisher. Simple as that
Just popping my head out, briefly, from my self imposed bunker to wonder out loud whether GN will still be in existence in May to celebrate its 10th birthday ?. Debatable the way things are going.
In answer to OP’s question - yes
I do wonder if the support for MawBe in comparison with the attitude shown to other bannings is because she posted on the "daily" more "friendly" threads?
I've had posts and threads deleted but I've never been given a "warning" Wonder what I'm doing wrong???
I should have added to my earlier post.... what is needed is consistency so that everyone is treated in a fair and equal way.
Well said outofstep and GillT57. If the proper procedure by Gransnet was adhered to and warnings given then the person involved surely has to take some responsibility. There needs to be boundaries or else it becomes a complete ‘free for all’ . I hope Gransnet will have considered the matter carefully before taking action and presumably they have much more information than is available here.
Also, I think some things must be discussed on threads I never go on. The dog reference for example. I don't remember EVER reading that one. I am never on the daily threads or the fun n fantasy ones either. Maybe some of the 'in' references come from those.

In view of the strength of feeling manifested in this thread, I suggest that HQ should consider a general amnesty. Rescind the permanent suspension and cancel the final warnings issued to other members. This would be 'in the spirit of the site", as you say, Maggiemaybe.
GNHQ please note the comment above and act upon it.
Please appear on the thread to assure members that this whole issue is being properly investigated.
Please make the guidelines clear.
I am reporting my own post to draw your attention to this important request for a complete amnesty.
Id like to add my name to the request for an Amnesty for maw and if you are reading this Maw you have my full support. I can’t believe the hypocrisy of some posters.
Maw usually has a good valid point to make, often gets involved in disagreements (but as far as I know hasn’t yet reported me, unlike another I could name) and gives a generally balanced view.
I know that Maw will be devastated and if I could do anything about it that would help, I would.
I’ll report my post maybe it will add to the others who have requested that Maw is allowed back. Although if it was me I would be tempted to cut off my nose to spite my face and tell GN to stuff it.
You see, Maw wouldn’t have said that........she would have been reasonable.
Now in my mature years, I too am experiencing this strange common phenomenon whereby, short term memory loss is no longer easy to access. What has replaced this is now having a clear recall of events that happened, even 60 years ago.
There seem to be a couple of new names on here, which nobody has commented on because they agree with the narrative
All I can ask is "Are they new posters? If so, welcome".
OK. I'm with you now LN.
It is a fact that some people have greater recall than others.
Gagajo sometimes it is noticeable that there is a heated discussion between two posters, others join in giving equally robust points of view but the only deletions are of one poster. It does at times seem personal and biased.
Perhaps some people have much better recall than others.
I might be misinterpreting LauraNorder. I thought it meant the same post by the same poster, reported by several people.
One report or several, a post can only be deleted once.
Trisher I am not a member of any club or gang on GN but would support the harsh decision of any member being banned completely.
I supported Jings banning, I support MawBe’s banning. That is my personal decision to make, not forcing another poster to make. Those are the two that I know of.
You have stated you don’t care enough to bother, fair enough, I wouldn’t dream of challenging you on your personal view. Possibly any gang/club member, rallying for support would though.
They have much better memories than mine trisher. I have to write stuff down at work if I want to remember it. 30 seconds, and it's gone.
Fat finger press
I think your question was answered previously Gagajo, we can all see ‘message deleted’ by GNHQ which indicates that someone has reported a post.
It's everyone's right.
It seems people only want a robust discussion if it says what they want.
you seem to think that I have great recall of everything that goes on here. I really don't. This is just relaxation for me. Most of the time, it is procrastination time. It isn't real life (for me - other may feel differently).
Thanks for this GagaJo it's very much how I feel about the whole thing. The way some remember every thing that is said astonishes me sometimes!
I think your

If the lady in question is such a lovely person I am sure she has many friends outside of Gransnet and lots of members that have her private contact details.
I’m sure she does but that’s not the point. I personally am talking about her right to enjoy this forum.
I don't know HOW you know posters are being reported time and time again, unless this is being discussed either on threads (which I have never seen) or in private messages. In which case, it would be highly suspect behaviour.
I have never discussed that in a PM (or on a thread for that matter) with anyone. I suppose I would if I cared enough, but I don't so...
Others have been banned
Perhaps we never knew.
I often wonder where some posters are and why they left but we're not supposed to ask
GillT57
^So who has been emailing in support of this ban I wonder? hmm. Show yourself if you dare^
Perhaps this unwise post is an example of the 'ganging up' and 'bullying' that is thought to be at the basis of this ban?
It could well be, GillT57
I don't think anyone would defend bullying at all, but where is the line drawn between robust responses, goading posts and what is considered to be bullying?
And why are more innocuous posts deemed to be bullying and reported time again yet similar posts by other posters are ignored?
It seems to me that, at least in this case, one poster has been targeted and reported for reasons of which some of us may be unaware because, as far as I read, her posts were no different to those of others who were equally fed up with being goaded.
I may not agree with certain posters but, if they sought help and could then I would try to post a supportive answer. I think that MawB did the same.
I agree with MaizieD's post at 12.12. The comment from Bathsheba was unpleasant.
You are right too MissA posters are feeling like this.
