Scams

There are scams again.

1. I've had a call to say that I'm being investigated for tax evasion and fraud by the HRMC. It sounded like an automated voice. I hung up immediately.

2. DH got a text message to say that the HMRC were refunding him xyz amount, and to text them his details or call..

They are both scams as HRMC don't call, text or email. They write letters. Please be careful. X

I go on the assumption that everything is a scam unless I'm expecting it, and even then I don't reply to the message or e-mail.

If in doubt, go into Govt Gateway site and you can check your tax or state pension.
