Some news about our H o S
RF family want their 1969 documentary to be taken off air. The Queen was talking in it about a governor that looked like a gorilla, in one little clip, of docu seen on twitter.

Queen doesn't want her various shares and their values in companies made public too embarrassing. And lobbied in the 70s to be made exempt from new law. She has millions in off shore accounts.

P Charles land owner lobbied to be exempt from new leaseholder legislation that would have allowed homeowners to buy the land their property sits on.

And when people from the Duchy die with no living relatives P Charles gets the money, with other landowners around the country money goes to the treasury

Then there is Andrew

The 20,000 Sandringham Estate gets millions in subsidies

Queen gets her Wendy house refurbished to her own specifications including a new thatched roof.

Meanwhile in other news a little boy stole a tin of soup because he was so hungry, never mind.

pillock is rather a low term used back in the day.

Smileless2012 Mon 08-Mar-21 16:20:44

I agree Nell but who said it and when? Was it as H claims before they married or as M claims while she was pregnant?

I can't be both can it!!! Why are they unable to get their stories right on what would have been such an unpleasant and upsetting experience?

If neither of them are prepared to say who said this, it shouldn't have been mentioned in the first place. They are deliberately leaving a cloud of racism over H's family excluding his GP's.

Callistemon Mon 08-Mar-21 16:16:37

Is pillock really rude? I thought it just meant daft? Slightly derogatory.

I disagree that it describes Charles as I think he's a sincere, thoughtful man.
As for Harry - possibly.

Mollygo Mon 08-Mar-21 16:13:34

Regardless of views on the RF,
I’m interested to know how many on GN would think it funny if they themselves or their sons/ fathers (in real life) were referred to as pillocks or other derogatory terms.

NellG Mon 08-Mar-21 15:07:20

Grandma70s Unless it is being asked in an effort to provide support against the inevitable racism that the child/family will be forced to endure then it is racist in and of itself.

Nobody ever speculated what colour you would be or asked why it would make a difference.

It is blatant white privilege to assume it is alright to ask/speculate without good reason to do so,

I am a royalist but not an^fanatical follower of all things royal^ I have found the current royal threads are sprinkled with racism and name calling, which in 2021 I find very sad.

It really is.
Especially seeing how many want yo ignore the racism

Callistemon Mon 08-Mar-21 14:56:49

GrannyGravy too true.

It's no good calling out racism (and rightly so) but then making derogatory remarks about members of the RF not being 'quite British' as I have seen on here recently.
Double standards, sanctimonious virtue signalling.

All of it is wrong.

Exactly Grandma 70s but unfortunately because of the severity of some racism , it has highlighted that perhaps we all need to be a bit more aware.
Many of us were probably born / grew up when comments we’re accepted between different cultures etc . This is no longer the case.

GagaJo

Couldn't agree more, paddyanne.

And grany (signed), I should imagine the RF will begin to implode when Charles the pillock takes over.

Agree Well Said paddyanne

That made me laugh GagaJo Charles the pillock grin

Bridgeit Mon 08-Mar-21 14:15:12

I don’t know about you Paddyann, but I have met some some lovely - what I will term ‘well Off folks ‘ & I have met folks with average lives & some with such sad lives it makes you wonder how they carry on.
Some like to help others some don’t, I just don’t t think that we should ‘not judge anyone by one aspect of their lives or personalities.
Who knows if we bumped into each other without knowing who we were we could get on like a house on fire , or may not. We will never know ???

Roll on the Republic!

......oncologists have transferable skills. Can’t think of any the RF have.

The York girls both work. Sophie Wessex worked. Prince William and Prince Harry worked. Other members of the RF worked or have work experience. Apart from the sheer wealth they have, I think the younger members of the RF would do very well if they needed/wanted to go to work. A number of the RF have reached, or are well past the age of retirement. They are actually expected to work on royal duties long past retirement age. The Queen is 94 years of age and still does her red boxes every day and still performs some public duties, although Covid has reduced the number enormously.

Crawler , afraid of losing his H.R.H. ? They should name the person who they claim said it

Bridgeit Mon 08-Mar-21 13:20:39

News Flash, just announced that P.Harry has clarified that neither The Queen or Prince Philip were the ones who made reference to what colour his & Meghans baby might be.

Grandma70s Mon 08-Mar-21 13:06:22

Meghan clearly is not adaptable enough for her role, unlike Kate, though admittedly Meghan has further to adapt.

trisher Mon 08-Mar-21 12:48:15

paddyanne I suppose the difference is oncologists have transferable skills. Can't think of any the RF have.

nadateturbe Mon 08-Mar-21 12:39:46

Anniebach yes we do know.

Anniebach Mon 08-Mar-21 11:50:22
