If my 99 year old father had private health care, I’d have been happy to see him given a high level of care. If that meant he waited in a safe environment, ie the private hospital he’d been admitted to, until space for necessary surgery was available in the nhs hospital - I’d have hoped he could have that.
I can’t imagine feeling anger that this was available to PP. I’m angry 11 years of Tory misrule is diminishing our nhs - that’s another row
Carwyn Jones, then First Minister of Wales and Leader of the Welsh Labour Party, said, when his father had a hip replacement done privately, that it was a matter of convenience.
He did say it was not his choice but his father's.
