Good Morning Everyone ,
Its dark, but its dry ,and cold and looks icy outside here in Brackley this morning.
Today , starting to settle down into my routine again .
Arranged to have the corona virus jab for this coming Saturday yesterday .
I only hope the cold air turns milder soon ,and we have a gradually easing of the lockdown so people can meet up again and be able to travel to favourite places .
Take Care,
Mick

Good Morning all from snowy Harrogate, we are only -1
What a palaver, Marydoll at least you are getting your vaccine, hope everything else pans out easily!
More baking needed today, this baking is not going according to plan, it's supposed to help DH put weight on (he's like someone from Belsen), whereas I am getting more and more rotund!! Can I resist my own baking?
We are enjoying watching "The Stranger" on Netflix, very tense, but I love reading Harlan Coben books
Nothing much doing otherwise today.

Haven't heard from Travelsafar for a while - hope she is OK?
Have the best day you can, folks tomorrow is another day!!

Sheep, your ladies’ crossed legs reminds me of an amusing story when I was overdue with No. 3.
I saw my GP for the last (we hoped) antenatal visit. He also the local obstetrician in Jersey, CI, and was booked for delivery. A few days later, I got a phone call. “This is the surgery. Dr. Williams is ill and has asked you to keep your legs crossed as he would like to deliver you!”
Unfortunately for him, I gave birth on the following Tuesday, but my lovely doctor was my very first visitor! One of DS2’s names was his.

Good morning Tuesday. The worst of the post-vaccine side effects have worn off, just a very sore arm, blurry eyes and tiredness. I slept through most of yesterday and will probably be doing the same today. Hope everyone has a relaxing day.

Hello and good morning from a grey Northampton; we had another light sprinkling of snow overnight, which looks very pretty. I fancied a buttered hot cross bun for breakfast, so left it on the side while I poured my tea, only to turn round and find one of the cats licking the butter off! Into the bin it went, and did another one which I didn't let out of my sight!

Got a fair bit done yesterday,; I actually damp-dusted all the bedrooms and cleaned the windows inside and the bathroom mirrors. Then did the banisters, which are very fiddly. That was plenty for one day! I also down-loaded and printed a free sweater pattern which came up in my emails. Then decided to clear late DH's email account of all the junk; I keep it on as it is still used by a couple of companies to contact me (they found it too difficult to change their emails to my address, even though all accounts are now in my name). I have an email divert on it which automatically sends all his emails to me, but stuff still builds up.

Nothing planned for today, so the same as usual here again - reading, crosswords, knitting etc.

Good grief Marydoll your problems don't come singly, do they? I do hope you get everything sorted, especially your tooth.

Hoping today is kind to us all.

Niochorio Tue 09-Feb-21 09:58:24

Good morning all from a bitterly cold North Wales. No snow for us which makes it easier to get out and about if needed but not as pretty. I do love the way the snow makes everything seem so clean and fresh.
I had a much better sleep last night after the rotten night the night before with shoulder and neck pain. The answer seems to have been a couple of painkillers before bed.
So sorry to hear about your teeth Marydoll and I hope you get an appointment soon. I have had a few broken teeth being of the over drilled and over filled generation and it really does make you so depressed and anxious. You will have to stand your ground with the dentist though. I broke a tooth a few weeks ago and the jagged edge was tearing my tongue to shreds. I couldn’t eat, drink or talk without pain.
Today is an open book apart from a couple of hours babysitting my four year old grandson while his mum is at the hospital for tests. I believe the home schooling involves number work today.
When he goes home I shall potter and have a think about what to prepare for tea. As with yesterday, I shall continue with my Ta Da lists, I find they are making me feel much happier than a To Do list.
Sending virtual hugs and best wishes to all who are sad and are in pain. ?????

Auntieflo Tue 09-Feb-21 09:56:36

Good morning Mick, Annie, and all, from a cold bit of Berks. Mick, have you tried a face shield yet, for your shopping trips?
I have been day dreaming whilst in bed and drinking my luke-warm cup of tea. My fault, because I went back to sleep and was so cosy and warm, I didn't want to move. I was watching the fat snowflakes gently drifting past, almost as though they were unsure of themselves, as where to land. The road outside, having been mended and patched so many times, looks quite mystical, the snow having settled in the cracks and joins.

Marydoll, your medical journey gets more complicated by the day. So sorry to hear about your broken tooth. Hopefully your dentist will be able to do a temporary, cosmetic fix, until they are allowed to do all the drilling and stuff. Also sending calming thoughts to MrMarydoll.

Nice to hear you are out of the San NanKate, it's not a nice place to be is it?

Your decorating seemed to get finished quickly Ginny, or am I getting you muddled up with someone else? Anyway, well done.

Ginster, I remember well the balls of ice in our wee Cairn's feet after a trip in the snow. They did get embedded between his pads. Would a quick, warm blow with a hairdryer help defrost him?
Have you finally cracked the roofing disaster Kittylester? Sounds like it, if the plasterer and decorator are on the next to do list. Great news.
Love the picture of your barn SheepandCattle with your helpmates looking comfy together on a crate.
I'm sure I have forgotten lots that I meant to mention, but sending warm and loving thoughts to one and all as you go about your daily tasks, or lack of. ?

amselerin Tue 09-Feb-21 09:52:13

Good morning everyone from Lueneburg.
Normally I don`t write every day - as most days are the same now. I wanted to send Marydoll lots of good wishes. I do so enjoy your upbeat posts and I hope that you will feel much better soon. Also, Sheepandcattle , I wish that all animals were treated as well as yours - with a bit of respect. Gives me a warm feeling to read how you treat them.
I like reading all about your daily lives and what you cook. My tasks for the day is making crumpets.
I am treating your posts as lessons in English.
Keep well and special thoughts to all with worries.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

GrannyOwl5 Tue 09-Feb-21 09:41:47

Morning everyone from north Kent. Still got snow lying on the ground and there are snow flurries every now and then. Shan’t be going far today as it looks quite slippery out. Might gingerly negotiate the garden path to inspect the bird feeders but that’s as far as I’ll go l think.

Lovely photos of contented animals. Love how the second in command is being supervised - and very glamorous she looks as well although judging by the look on her face she knows it! ?

So sorry to read about your trials and tribulations Marydoll and do hope you get things sorted as soon as possible; fingers crossed that you can get in touch with a sympathetic and helpful dentist.

No new plans for today; a bit of that and a bit of this. Some phone calls to friends this morning to see how they are.

Hope those feeling unwell or wobbly have a reasonable day. Have a good Tuesday. Stay safe

Susan56 Tue 09-Feb-21 09:38:09

Good morning from Staffordshire.I wasn’t sure we would get here today as heavy snow forecast but so far so good.I will be happy when we are safely home tonight.DH wants to do the supermarket shop on the way home so we don’t have to go out again this week.Good plan but it will be a long day.

DGS is three next week but as it is half term we aren’t needed for childcare support so we are having a pre birthday day today.

Mary, I am so sorry you are having tooth trouble and hope you get an appointment today. Also that you are able to attend your other medical appointments.?

NanKate, my son in law had the Astra Zeneca vaccine last week and had 24 hours sickness after it so possibly you could have had a reaction too.Glad you are feeling better.

Thinking of Auntieflo, Georgesgran and all others with illness and worries.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 09-Feb-21 09:37:16

Not sure about using the garden lounger today??? ❄️❄️❄️

Greyduster Tue 09-Feb-21 09:25:19

“We was forecast”? Slapped wrist time!

Greyduster Tue 09-Feb-21 09:24:33

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a sunny South Yorkshire, but with a light covering of snow on the ground. Not as much as we was forecast though. We ventured out yesterday but underneath the snow, the mud was liquid and we gave up as it got pretty treacherous. Not sure what today will bring apart from the final stages of decorating GS’s cake and wrapping his presents.
Thankyou for the photos of your ladies and their calves, Sheep, and of your 2i/c and his mate!
Have the best day you can folks.

polomint Tue 09-Feb-21 09:21:29

Good morning from.central Lanarkshire. Well we did get some snow last night , just a few inches. Hope to go out later for a walk with our dog as he really loves snow!

NannyJan53 Tue 09-Feb-21 09:19:08

Good morning from a cold Black Country where it is snowing quite heavily.

Mum rang yesterday saying her Liquidiser and conked, so I ordered one for her, as she makes a lot of soup. It is ready to collect now from Sainsburys, but it will have to wait till the snow has gone. My friend in Stamford sent a photograph last night, the snow there is at least 6 inches.

Glad you have recovered from your Stomach bug NanKate that kind of pain can be very debilitating.

I do so hope you can get a Dental appointment soon Marydoll sending you lots of love flowers

Wishing you all a good and safe day

GrannySomerset Tue 09-Feb-21 09:14:19

Great pictures this morning, but so sorry for Marydoll’s dental disaster - rotten luck at any time but particularly hard just now. Do hope a solution is found quickly.

No snow but very cold. We have a chair company bringing a rise and recline chair for DH to try. This apparently counts as a medical aid and so is permitted. The house will be freezing with windows opened but worth the effort.

Thinking of the ill and the anxious, the child minders and the shoppers, and hoping we all have an OK day.

Nannagarra Tue 09-Feb-21 09:11:22

Good morning from the Sefton coast where it is -1 and there is a light dusting of snow.
Mick and Marydoll, it’s good news that you have appointments for the vax. Time for another letter about improving the service you receive, M? ?you get to visit a dentist ASAP.
After my vax yesterday I had a ‘reward’ of some tulips. Feeling upbeat and ignoring DH’s advice to ‘take it easy’, I finally managed to make some edible scones! The previous rocks, formerly hidden in the freezer, are now anchoring the bin! Even in a gale it wouldn’t move.
Thoughts go to those who are wobbly and unwell. Have the best day you can everyone. x

B9exchange Tue 09-Feb-21 09:11:20

Mooring everyone. Goodness MaryDoll I cannot believe what is happening to you, I do hope you can find a kind dentist to sort you out quickly. Lovely photos sheep I am glad the dog and cat are there to keep an eye on proceedings!

We found water all over the utility room floor this morning, with the cats paddling around in it, and no idea whether it is coming from the boiler or the work on the shower above. What ever it is, I fear it will prove expensive!

Alygran Tue 09-Feb-21 09:04:23

Good morning from North Yorkshire. The sun is out now. It was snowing half an hour ago.
Marydoll I hope you get a dental appointment today that fits in with your trip to the hospital.
Just had my overnight oats for breakfast. It’s becoming very popular.
Laundry and housework for me this morning then perhaps a short walk if the snow doesn’t get any worse.
Take care everyone and stay safe.

Grandmafrench Tue 09-Feb-21 08:57:45

Good Morning everyone from blue and sunny ?? where today I must wash some curtains and hope to buy some pots for the garden. Sadly some cracked ones which have been wired together have given up the fight, so a little garden potter later.

I’m very tempted to say ‘Hell’s Teef’, Mary, but poor little you, it’s far from funny. You’ll need to find the strength to get what you need - and pronto. Excuse no buck-passing, or inaction and maybe your DH will feel a bit better by helping you get some urgent attention. Fingers crossed you’ll arrange what you need today and you’ll be less stressed very quickly. x ?
Lovely photos, sheep - who can’t love a Border Collie, especially one with a glamorous assistant. ?

Bad weather facing lots of you plucky folk again today. Do please take care and stay (carefully) on your feet! Hope your blood test results are good, Urms. If all else fails, please remember it’s fixable - especially for someone focused like you. ?

Hugs and good wishes to struggling or sad Grans. Have a positive day, everyone - one day it’ll all be in the past, you’ll see. ?. See you tomorrow. Stay well.
?‍♀️??

Good Morning from the Scottish Borders where our snow is catching up on Perthshire's! It's still falling gently. So glad I got to the vaccine appointment yesterday.
One woman hadn't managed in the morning due to snow and car problems but they had fitted her in at around my time. It was quite busy but a lovely Weegie nurse (I thought of Marydoll and Kalu) gave me the Pfizer and I have no ill effects so far unless you count being awake half the night.

I am sick sorry Marydoll about your tooth on top of everything else. flowers
Glad you are feeling better Nankate
Thanks for the vision of the farm sheepandcattle

Yoga on zoom and that's all I have planned today. apart from knitting and potting.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning Mick, morning all from snowy South Lanarkshire, although there’s not a huge amount at the moment.

Gorgeous photos this morning of footprints, cows, cats and dogs.
? ? ? ?

I had a lovely walk in the park yesterday, chatted to another dog walker for about fifteen minutes, I think we were both starved of company.

You’re doing well with the exercises Elizabeth, I admire your determination.

Marydoll as if you don’t have enough to contend with. I’m so sorry about your tooth, dentists can do so much these days, I hope it can be repaired quickly.

I’ll have to dig something out of the freezer for dinner tonight, all the fresh food has been eaten. The online shop is waiting to be completed, then a walk, some crochet whilst listening to my book, and that will be it for the day.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day.

NotAGran55 Tue 09-Feb-21 08:41:22

Good morning from a cold and frosty West Berkshire village.

Mick the entire world is with you wanting normality back .

Another day of filling the time . Batch cooking , a bit of admin, listening to my audiobook whilst tidying or reorganising something ....
During the first lockdown I sorted my collection of travel books into alphabetical order , my very own Waterstones. Perhaps it’s the cookery books turn today ....

I’ll pop back later to see how Marydoll gets on with her dental appointment. Fingers crossed ?.

Best wishes to all who are poorly or down at heart.

Morning from my snowy bit of S Lanarkshire. I think we are on the edge of it here, my farming daughter is only about 12 miles further east but they are quite a bit higher and I got a lovely video last night of my 15 and 17 year old granddaughters skiing gently over their fields. Not for me, but they were having a wonderful time!
I’m hoping to get my spikes back on my boots and have a walk with my daughter who lives in the town. Between the weather and her work we’ve only managed quick doorstep chats since Christmas. I’ll be relieved when I hear she got safely home after she finished work late last night.
Have a good day everyone x

Good morning from a very cold Teddington where it's trying to snow. Woke with a headache so may go back to bed! Hope Marydoll manages to get to a dentist, and that her appointments get sorted out. Lovely to see the mums and babies in a very comfortable looking large barn. Have the best day possible everyone.
