Good Morning Everyone ,
Its dark, but its dry ,and cold and looks icy outside here in Brackley this morning.
Today , starting to settle down into my routine again .
Arranged to have the corona virus jab for this coming Saturday yesterday .
I only hope the cold air turns milder soon ,and we have a gradually easing of the lockdown so people can meet up again and be able to travel to favourite places .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from snowy Colchester. Deep and crisp and even here and spookily quiet.
I have to venture out in the below freezing temperatures for supplies. Luckily Lidl is a 5 minute walk away and most of it is grass, so as long as they've gritted around the shop I'll be ok. Will dig out my walking boots.
No other plans.
Much love to all.

ginny Tue 09-Feb-21 08:12:22

Good Morning from N. Bucks. Very cold with a covering of snow.
MrGinny says thank you for the birthday greetings yesterday.
He had lots of calls and a nice zoom session with all the family. DGS2 ( 5 years old). ‘helped ‘ to blow out Grandads candles and had asked his Mummy and Daddy to set up a disco . So we all had to dance. ?

Empty diary today . DH will finish decorating the spare room and then tomorrow I shall put it all straight again.

? for Marydoll and all with troubles of any kind.
Hope you all find a ? today.

Good morning from an icy NE.
It did not snow much during the day yesterday but what was already there froze into crunchy peaks.
Had a surprise phone call from my sister on her mobile, she pressed the wrong number by mistake so we had a chat.
Must make sure we check the supermarket order for tomorrow, we didn't have a delivery last week.
Thinking of you Marydoll and Georgesgran and all others who need a virtual hug.

Sheepandcattle Tue 09-Feb-21 08:09:20

Morning all from a very cold Wiltshire. This morning I’m being spoilt as DH has offered to go out and check and feed the sheep so I’m having an extra cuppa in the warm - bliss! No new calves born yesterday - the final 5 mothers-to-be are keeping their legs firmly crossed and enjoy the peace and quiet in the pre-calving barn. I hope I’ve managed to attach a photo of some of the cows and calves. Nancy is the cow in the centre suckling her adopted black calf, Dumpy Bag. You can practically see the love between them glowing ! We bought 2 new incalf cows yesterday, lovely Belgium Blues, now christened Blue and Roo, but they are in the isolation pen until they have some blood tests and vaccinations as we can’t risk them bringing any nasties into the herd.
I had to get the sheep in again yesterday to sort out some sore feet as I need the ewes to be in tip top condition ready for lambing in the next couple of weeks. If a sheep has a sore foot, they are less likely to get up and graze and they can quickly loose condition. I hope I’ve managed to include a photo of my Second in Command and his side kick, Daft Cat, watching over proceedings!
Wishing you all a good day and that pesky appointments, I’ll-health and worries get sorted as well as possible.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 09-Feb-21 08:08:15

Good morning Mick and all

It’s snowing here in my little corner of S E Essex I think it will be difficult to get the 5 yr old to concentrate on homeschooling today (he had a snow day yesterday, no lessons just fun)!! Cannot believe he is 6 on Thursday, it only seems like yesterday (I was with my daughter at his birth) !!

Oh dear Marydoll hope you can get to the dentist, you are never short of excitement of the wrong sort!!!!

Wishing all my morning friends a better day, keep warm.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️❄️

BlueBelle Tue 09-Feb-21 08:08:01

granfromafar Tue 09-Feb-21 08:07:05

Good morning to one and all from a shivvery cold west Kent. Set to be -1 all day here with a glimpse of sunshine around midday so hope I can persuade OH outside for a quick walk. Had to be up early yesterday as OH had done a home-covid test after being randomly selected and the courier was collecting it 'from 8am' . We are not early risers, especially recently, so had to set alarm for 7.15 am to make sure we were up in time for said collection. Of course he didn't appear till around 10 am! Felt tired for the rest of the day!
Hope all those with medical appointments get to them without any hitches, particularly Marydoll and the dentist. Ouch!

Good morning from Malta where the weather is mild with a bit of pale blue sky showing amongst the clouds.

I popped to the corner shop earlier as I shall be puppy-sitting later so don’t want to have to go out then.

So sorry to hear of your awful plight Marydoll, anything to do with teeth has me wincing in sympathy.

Also, very sorry you’ve had a nasty bug NanKate. Hope you are feeling better and that you will enjoy the tennis. I’m so annoyed with myself for missing Rafa’s match. It was so early I only caught the very end. ☹️

Wishing everyone as good a day as possible, stay warm and safe and let’s hope better days are coming.☀️

Gingster Tue 09-Feb-21 08:04:32

Good morning all and we’ve had more snow here in Essex. Little pooch has just returned from the garden covered in balls of ice. She’s a cockerpoo with tight curly fur, so you can’t brush to ice off. She will just have to melt.

Our vaccines are booked for this lunchtime, but the centre was closed yesterday (snow). Not sure if it will be open today but the roads look so icy, I’m not really happy about getting there. I think we’ll rebook! ?.

Marydoll you are indeed ‘in a pickle’. I hope things sort themselves out for you, . You can do without all this stress! ?.

Enjoy the tennis, girls. I might join you, especially if pimms is involved. Or perhaps mulled wine in this cold climate! ?.

Here’s a pic of my little Gd’s footprints barefoot in the snow. ? ?. Daddy’s challenge for the day. ?

Take care out there everyone. No slipping or sliding. ??⛄️

brook2704 Tue 09-Feb-21 08:04:10

Good morning everyone from Inverness where the weather app says -7 outside and we’ve got very crunchy icy snow underfoot.
Yesterday was very cold but sunny so we enjoyed a longish walk in the snow, up along a bit of the Great Glen Way and then back down and along the side of the canal which was frozen. Today a much quieter day with washing and housework this morning and then maybe a short walk later on
Hoping all goes well today marydoll, sorry to hear about your tooth but good news about your vaccine appointment
Take care everyone with the snow and ice about and hope today is kind to everyone ?

cornergran Tue 09-Feb-21 08:02:54

Morning Mick, morning All from an overcast corner of Somerset.

Goodness marydoll what a time you’re having. I’ll be back this afternoon to see how you’ve got on.

Quiet day here I think. On with the admin for me, my book was more appealing yesterday. Must do a list and work through it, will feel better to have it all completed. Looking at the vegetable seeds and seed potatoes and thinking it won’t be long now before we can begin planting. The climbing rose is shooting, one rose has a bud, bulbs are pushing on, some tiny flowers already Watching things grow always lifts my spirits.

Take care everyone, special thoughts for those with heavy hearts.

Nannytopsy Tue 09-Feb-21 08:01:46

Good morning Mick and all his followers.
We have had a little more snow overnight and there are a few flakes falling. It must be cold as the bedroom and bathroom radiators have come on.
Marydoll what an awful thing to happen with your tooth. I do hope you can get to a dentist today and that your hospital appointment goes well. Your poor DH sounds very upset.
DH has the sorting bug and is still finding things to empty.
I went for a walk yesterday and by chance met three neighbours which was lovely. A chance to chat with a different face as we walked.
? Kitty - it sounds like the roof may be fixed!
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

Beauregard Tue 09-Feb-21 07:57:31

Hope your day turns out well Marydoll and NanKate is feeling better.

flowers to all with illness and worry

I've got overnight oats too this morning Scentia. They're nice and filling.

Sparklefizz Tue 09-Feb-21 07:55:35

Good Morning Mick and all GNs from a very cold South Glos. When I went to bed there was a sprinkling of snowflakes in the air so I expected to wake up to an expanse of white .... but no. Just perishin' cold!

Glad you are on the mend, NanKate. Do you think it might have been a reaction to the vax? I know of a couple of other people who had some gut reactions. Anyway, stay warm and enjoy the tennis.

Woke up to a text this morning from my son who wants old board games for teaching aids for when he starts his new job, so I will be rummaging in the cupboard under the stairs for those. I know they're in there somewhere. I've moved house with them many times since he and his sister last played with them. smile

Oh Marydoll, what can I say? You really do deserve for things to go well, and yet now you have more problems to sort. I will be sending positive vibes your way and do hope you can get to see a dentist and also get your vax. flowers for you.

Yesterday, after spending some time thinking about moving my router and/or TV set, measuring distances with the ethernet cable, blah, blah, I finally got through to my ISP about the problems with the WiFi keep cutting out on my TV ..... only to be told that there's a fault on the line and they will send out an engineer. I asked why this fault was not affecting the WiFi on other devices, and then didn't understand the answer.

After that, he spoke to me as if I am a complete idiot, and said that the fault is external - mansplaining that "external" means it is "outside" (Grrrr! angry ) and that it will be fixed by Wednesday. Hopefully that will be a job ticked off my To Do list.

Now I can spend today doing more painting before starting on painting a dry stone wall courtesy of one of Happyme's lovely photos.

Hope the day goes as well as possible for everyone. Good luck to those having their vax today or any medical appointments.

Special thoughts to Auntieflo and Georgesgran and all who are sad or fed up. x

grandMattie Tue 09-Feb-21 07:51:25

So sorry about your tooth, Marydoll. I hope you manage a dentist.
Remember what the anchorage Julian of Norwich said, “All will be well, all will be well, all manner of things will be well”.
Bon courage, mon brave!

Good morning everyone from a bitterly cold east coast of Fife when on looking past these curtains we’ve had a dusting of icy snow. It looks like Alaska out there I just hope my carers and all road users are keeping safe on these dangerous roads.

I was meant to be having my vaccine today but I’ve rescheduled as I need a home visit and it would be difficult to get to the hospital as my dh is still recovering from pneumonia. I wonder when the NHS will send me another appointment.

I had a good day yesterday just faffing around the house. I did at one point sit in the conservatory reading my new book written by a local lass looking out at times to the beautiful sunshine we had just before it started to snow again.

I even had a go on my motomed using both arms and legs trying to keep fit for fifteen minutes. methinks it’ll be a day of binge watching Schitts creek it’s so very funny.

Keep warm today dear friends and keep safe spoil yourself just one teenie bit. Lots of love everyone. cupcake

Urmstongran Tue 09-Feb-21 07:50:24

Good morning everyone from South Manchester where it has snowed again in the night. I was quite surprised to be honest. It’s not thick. I’m grateful for that as I’m off to the doctor’s just after 9am to have a routine blood test done by the practice nurse. It showed a pre-diabetic level a year ago. I’m hoping it’s come down but I have gained a few pounds in lockdown. I shall get a hot coffee from the square and take my time walking through the park. It’s only 10 minutes away.

Oh Marydoll that’s a complete car crash of medical dilemmas! I hope you get a dental appointment as an urgency and that somehow your day works out to your satisfaction. Do pop back and tell us. We will all be thinking of you.

Hope Tuesday is kind to us all. Ashcombe your young grandchild has a good memory by the sounds of it! Good luck with your vaccination today kitty - Himself has his tomorrow and at 68y with no underlying conditions he was delighted to be called so soon! Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Good morning from a very windy and cold Essex by the sea. We had a little more snow yesterday and it doesn't look like it's going anywhere.
Sorry to hear your news Mary, I hope you get to see a dentist today.
No plans again today. I did get to speak to DGD4 on a WhatsApp call with my daughter yesterday. She told me that she loved me and looked forward to Nanny cuddles, as do I. She is 5 and a bundle of energy, she only started school in September and she misses being with the other children. Luckily she is eager to learn and will happily sit and do phonics and read.
We are having beef casserole with dumplings for dinner, a nice warming meal for a cold day.
We haven't heard about our vaccines yet, we are 65 and 67 so hopefully in the next couple of weeks.
Have the best day you can, take care and stay safe everyone xx

Beauregard Tue 09-Feb-21 07:46:07

Good morning all from Derbyshire where we had another dusting of snow yesterday evening and it's bitterly cold. Apparently the yard tap is frozen again ?

The car passed it's MOT yesterday. It also had an orange warning light (check oil level) which we asked the garage to sort out. I casually asked if it might be dirt on the sensor (after Marydoll's solution to hers yesterday) but in this case it turned out that the oil had been overfilled by the garage that did a previous service.

We need to go out this morning to a food shop I couldn't go to on Thursday because it's changed its opening time to 10am and I was there at 9.30am - so I wasn't hanging around for half an hour. Also collecting a Too Good To Go box nearby.

Wishing everyone a good day today.

Dwmxwg Tue 09-Feb-21 07:44:06

Good morning from a cold north Surrey with a very light dusting of snow.
Goodness Marydoll I do hope your day sorts itself out and your appointments all fit in.
Am back to work today so just a dog walk planned to get some fresh air in before I start. Hoping it isn’t too icy out there.
Wishing all a good day

Gelisajams Tue 09-Feb-21 07:37:56

Good morning from Morecambe Bay where it is icy and we have had the lightest fall of snow. DH has an early appointment for his blood test so he will slip slide along the canal towpath to the surgery. It will take him about 25 minutes. I shall stay here with my bucket of tea.
Not sure what today holds, no exercise , it’s rest day, too much time on the iPad no doubt, a bit of crochet, maybe a walk if it warms up.
Thinking of everyone with problems, ?
Take care and stay safe everyone ?

Lins1066 Tue 09-Feb-21 07:37:11

Good morning Mick and all from a cold S Welsh coast, a dry, sunny day is forecast.
We went for a walk along the clifftop yesterday afternoon, the tide was in and we could see over to the Gower, hope you are ok Cherry.
We have a Tesco delivery later and the fish man cometh today.
We will wrap up and go for another walk this afternoon, then light the logburner and hunker down. A homemade curry on today's menu.
Have a pleasant day and stayssfe.

Marydoll Tue 09-Feb-21 07:30:18

Good morning all from a snowy Glasgow.

I shall be brief (if that is possible). I don't even know if I will make my hospital appointment for a number of reasons.

I am in a bit of a pickle. Last night my front tooth sheered of at the gum line and frankly it looks a bit of a mess. I need emergency dental treatment fast, as I am at high risk of infection because I am immunopsuppressed.
It looks like my autoimmune conditions continue to do their worst on my teeth.

After ignoring messages on the surgery website and phone lines, not to call the surgery about vaccines, I braved the lion's den. I discovered it was my GP practice who were vaccinating the shielders. Eventually I got a call offering me a cancellation for the vaccine appointment today, at exactly the same time as my hospital appointment. Ironic really, considering all my medical appointments have been paused for a year.

I now how have the appointment for tomorrow evening.
I have no idea what the day will bring. If I do manage to see a dentist I don't know how we will get actually get there.
I will hopefully be back in the afternoon, with more news.

My poor husband is so upset and stressed about it all.

In the meantime, I hope your day is better than mine will be.

Scentia Tue 09-Feb-21 07:26:17

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it very cold.
Work day today where I will freeze again. It is not difficult to dress oneself correctly so why do I constantly feel under or over dressed, I am either boiling or freezing! I am sure it’s my age.
Made myself some overnight oats and my my they are nice, don’t know how I have only just discovered these.
Take care everyone and if you are not feeling 100% then take extra care of yourself in this cold weather.

kittylester Tue 09-Feb-21 07:20:09

Good morning all from a very cold North Leicestershire

I'm off to Derby to get my jab this morning and I've just noticed that it's snowing.

I am pleased to report that that none of the melting snow came through the hall ceiling so I dare to hope that we can book the plasterer and decorator!!

Sending gentle hugs and lots of love to all who need them.
