Good Morning Everyone ,
Its dark, but its dry ,and cold and looks icy outside here in Brackley this morning.
Today , starting to settle down into my routine again .
Arranged to have the corona virus jab for this coming Saturday yesterday .
I only hope the cold air turns milder soon ,and we have a gradually easing of the lockdown so people can meet up again and be able to travel to favourite places .
Take Care,
Mick

Crochet/knitting is excellent for fooling the Fitbit, Marydoll! ?. Sleep well.

Urmstongran Tue 09-Feb-21 20:14:19

Definitely not you Maydoll as her hair isn’t red.
Stop trying to fool us.
?
Glad you sound upbeat. x

Marydoll Tue 09-Feb-21 19:43:46

Thank you all for your kindness. It will be a bit of a journey before I no longer look like an old crone. However, I am one step further than I was last night! wink

There is always a bright side. According to my Fitbit I walked more steps today than I have walked in months!!!

mrshat Tue 09-Feb-21 19:25:51

Marydoll So pleased to see that you have managed your two appointments and plans are in place to sort your tooth! What a day you have had! Rest easy now and relax flowers

Auntieflo Tue 09-Feb-21 19:20:53

Go and have a warm and cosy, peaceful evening Marydoll. So pleased that your tooth problem has been sorted out.
Maybe you should 'crowd fund' for the dentist fees.
DH went this afternoon, but not nearly as ouchy as yours.

Sparklefizz Tue 09-Feb-21 18:50:27

Glad you have been sorted Marydoll.
Hope all the stress of today hasn't wiped you out.
Sleep well tonight. flowers

cornergran Tue 09-Feb-21 17:52:47

Hope you’re both resting now marydoll, quite a day indeed. Sleep well, you certainly deserve to tonight.

Urmstongran Tue 09-Feb-21 16:57:16

What a day eh Marydoll? You’ll both be emotionally drained (but relieved). Bet you sleep like tops tonight!

Susan56 Tue 09-Feb-21 16:44:50

Glad there’s a plan in place to get your tooth sorted and glad you’re home safely.
Hope you and Mr Doll are both feeling better.x

Litterpicker Tue 09-Feb-21 16:41:26

Marydoll so pleased to hear you had your appointments and positive outcome. Like the snow pic. Just seen posting of similar from my family in East Lothian.

Jaxjacky Tue 09-Feb-21 16:07:56

Hurray Marydoll you’ve had an achieved day, you must be worn out with the weather too, I would be. Feet up time.

FannyCornforth Tue 09-Feb-21 15:40:33

Welcome home Mary!
Glad that you've got it sorted.

Marydoll Tue 09-Feb-21 15:37:33

Back in one piece, After a very busy and slightly surreal day. Two medical appointments in one day, I am indeed blessed! ?
I will catch properly up tomorrow.
Dental treatment requires collaboration with RA consultant and dentist. I'm off to remortgage my house to pay for the treatment. ? It will not be a quick process. I never thought I would be so glad to have to wear a mask. It covers a multitude of sins!
It's difficult to see, but we have a blizzard. So glad and relieved to be home.

Urmstongran Tue 09-Feb-21 12:56:34

amselerin I’m in awe of anyone who could (a) even make crumpets and (b) be bothered to.
Hats off to you dear lady!
#lazygran

And I think your English writing and understanding is pretty impressive.

Yes EV and GrandmaFrench I think I need to address my greediness issues. I blame boredom but that’s just a cop out really. The lovely nurse Sharon said ‘just stop buying goodies’. She’s right of course....

Good Morning All x.
Lovely and sunny but at -2 it's rather nippy as well.
When I opened the curtains earlier, the area had a large gathering of seagulls. They were everywhere, standing in the garden, in rows on roofs and some just fluttering in the air. It was like a scene from The Birds grin .Massive birds. They weren't squawking either which was strange.

My right knee has been giving in lately so I've been a bit wary in case I'm carrying something at the same time----what a pest. It's probably a touch of osteo, no pain unless I turn around suddenly then it feels as though it's become detached altogether. Old age I suppose smile I should worry.

Marydoll never has a "free " day from any problems and anything to do with teeth aren't the best, so hope that can get sorted for you soon.

Urms I can't envisage anything untoward with your forthcoming test, just a diet adjustment I would say which will remedy a suspected type 2.

Those animals look so cosy and content in their byre Sheepandcattle it's lovely to see. Lovely border collie, they are such clever intelligent dogs, with its pal, aww.
Glad that you've had some respite for the time being.

No need for any shopping today as I'll be using what I have in fridge and freezer, so there'll be concoctions of all sorts of eats. I'll probably go for egg and chips today it's a long time since I had that as I always seem to be cooking dinners that involve pans galore.

Oh dear, I've been cleaning the windows---all started by one of the cat's sneezing on the window so out came the Dettol and throw-away blue cloth and I carried on with my " foot bowl " full of hot soapy water. Anyway they're done now.

I must say the cats are driving me mad lately, in and out of the house like a dog at a fair. They don't know what to do with themselves----like children.

Hope everyone hasn't got too much snow and ice otherwise it's difficult to get around either on foot or in the car. I hope you can manage to get where you're going, vax's especially.

Anyway, keep warm, take care and stay safe everyone and those who feel under the weather, hope things improve xx

Niochorio Tue 09-Feb-21 12:04:17

Sparklefizz, I think you might be right about the need for a lie down ? you forget how exhausting young children can be once your own are grown up. However, I will not complain as I know so many on here are unable to see their grandchildren.

Litterpicker Tue 09-Feb-21 11:52:18

Good morning Mick and all from bitterly cold West Sussex. Do not scoff you Scots and Northerners - it really is the coldest weather I have known in a long time.

I had a more than usually active day (for me) yesterday: vacuumed, wiped cloakroom and kitchen floors and various accoutrements (bins etc). Then I sorted out some of the clutter in spare bedroom, collected Sainsbury’s order, went for a brisk walk with DH, cooked meal and read a few chapters of WW2 story to DGS’s on Skype. As I had several days previously when I barely left the sofa I was feeling quite virtuous by bedtime!

Today, unfortunately, there is ironing looking at me in a recriminatory way. It has been sitting on a chair, strategically covered with a throw, since about November. I can’t even remember what’s there.

Thinking of all with illness, worries, caring responsibilities flowers.

A late good morning from a very chilly Glasgow which is once again a winter wonderland after a heavy snowfall overnight.

My appointment for the vaccine is Saturday, by which time, I hope the snow has disappeared. Only a 10min. drive though.
Hope you manage to see a dentist today Marydoll.

Youngest GD FaceTimed this morning, so excited the snow has returned and she will build another snowman so, look out for some pics later Granny. GD1 isn’t bothered one way or the other. ? She is 15!

Plenty to do here if I feel like doing it. ?

What an exciting day Kitty. Having your jab and......?no more leaks in the roof.

Best wishes to all for a good day.

Stilllearning Tue 09-Feb-21 11:40:51

Just catching up with everyone at coffee time, I posted without reading this morning so I would be ready for hoped for walk but since we’ve had fairly consistent snow all morning I suspect it won’t be happening.
Hope your dentist can help quickly Marydoll, I’m glad you have a time for your vaccination, one worry solved, although at the moment replaced by another.
amselerin, during lockdown and thanks to a certain poster on here, I have become addicted to crumpets with my morning coffee, but I’m sure your homemade ones would be a whole different experience!

nationwide briefs

gillgran Tue 09-Feb-21 11:28:15

Good Morning from a frosty, but dry Cambs., We've only had a couple of light dustings of snow here.

Good to see that lots of us have had our first doses of the vaccine, & that several more have them in the next few days.

Marydoll, I do hope you get all your appointments sorted, what a lot of things at the same time. flowers

Warm wishes to all with extra worries & troubles.

Take Care Folks

Good morning Mick and all from a very sunny northwest coast. I had a good nights sleep after tramping around the town yesterday but it is rather boring, so many shops have closed down, so the windowshopping is minimal. As it’s perishing, most people keep their masks on. It’s certainly a good disguise, hat, sunglasses and mask!
Big decision of the day, is this avocado just right for eating?. I had to THROW OUT one the other day as too far gone?
Thinking of Auntiflo and Georgesgran and all with troubles.
Looking forward to reading these nationwide and beyond later.

Taichinan Tue 09-Feb-21 11:24:40

Good morning Mick and all from Snowmaggedon on the Angus coast. Actually we only have about 1-2 inches - DD in Perthshire has measured 7 inches on her garden table. She's not going to enjoy her dog walk today! She has the maddest of mad Red Setters.
I got up early today full of good intentions, but three hours later have only accomplished the totally unplanned and unnecessary and have achieved the sum total of nothing - apart from reading this thread of course.
So glad your vaccination is in sight Marydoll, that's a big step forward. But oh dear, your tooth! I hope your dentist treats it as the emergency it most certainly is. Whatever next!
Love your photos, Sheep - they somehow look so cosy and warm and full of contentment. Kitty I'm so glad your roof problem has been resolved at long last (?). And Blue Sapphire I am totally in awe of your Domestic Goddess activities! I am not an enthusiastic houseworker, although I do enjoy the occasional blitz from time to time.
Looking forward to the bright sunny day forecast for us tomorrow, and as I'm due a Tesco delivery around 9am I shall have to be up early to enjoy it (the sun, I mean). It won't be any warmer though!
Have a cosy, unstressed and contented day everyone - let's just try to shelve all those worries for a while. Sending loving and healing vibes to all in need of them ??

Sparklefizz Tue 09-Feb-21 11:13:54

Niochorio "Today is an open book apart from a couple of hours babysitting my four year old grandson while his mum is at the hospital for tests. I believe the home schooling involves number work today. When he goes home I shall potter"

Actually a lie down might be more on the cards, Nio ! smile

Mapleleaf Tue 09-Feb-21 11:12:18

Good morning all,

Just an odd flurry of snow now and again this morning. A little had settled through the night, but the roads are now clear, thankfully. We were forecast a lot more, as greyduster says, but I'm pleased to say that so far it hasn't materialised to that extent. Still bitterly cold though.

So sorry to read if your trials and tribulations, marydoll and I do hope that you get your dental problem sorted very soon and your vaccination, too.

Good news, mick. You must be relieved to be having your vaccination on Saturday.

Well, as per usual, no exciting plans afoot. I think I'll go and switch on the kettle for a coffee ?.

Take care everyone and kind thoughts winging their way to all with troubles, worries or illness. ?
