Dreams of holidays and coffee

Nearly all my dreams involve me being in public places like shops and having arguments with people. I seem to be telling people to put masks on and keep their distance.
I have not set foot in a shop for a full year so I am not at risk in real life.

My holiday dreams have just been shattered by hearing on telly that it's actually illegal to book one. I thought it was speculative and at one's own risk. I had no plans to book but I have been researching...... I'm sure the holiday companies who are advertising and circulating brochures are not intentionally encouraging us to break the law.

One of my daughters told me she had some sort of auto-immune problem with her liver. This was after several months of having continual unusual readings from bloods test. She did say it was not serious and she was under the appropriate medical department. However, for the next two nights I had nightmares in which I could not find her anywhere. Sometimes she was a child again (she is in her fifties), and other times as an adult. It was very distressing for me, and I woke in tears a few times. I know it was my way of trying to deal with the news, but does show how our dreams do reflect what is worrying us.

My late Father has been appearing in my dreams lately. In the latest one he asked me to come and check something in his car engine which is something he would never, ever have said to me when he was alive. only men know about engines

Oh dear I'm sorry for those having awful dreams. Hope you have some nice ones soon. I think it is weird and an example of how lockdown is getting to us. Sweet dreams to you all!

I'm still having weird lockdown dreams and sometimes waking up choking and heart racing feeling locked in somewhere.

I was speaking to a friend on the phone yesterday and we were fantasising about being able to meet up somewhere for coffee, I really miss that and it’s one of the first things I’m going to do when I can. Unfortunately I haven’t had a pleasant dream for months they are at best odd and at worst really horrible

GillT57 I know it's not the same is it? I did actually feel a little better when I woke after my cake and coffee dream so maybe it is just a way of coping.

OOh, I wish! My dreams lately seem to be concerning losing the last bit of a jigsaw, or not being able to find the picture, I must stop doing jigsaws before I go to bed! I was sitting at home a day or so ago, a bit bored, but reasonably content and I suddenly had this craving for a coffee and a slice of cake....*but in a teashop or cafe*, I can make my own coffee and bake my own cakes, quite well, I just really, really wanted to stroll in somewhere and order something.

Witzend yes, mine too. They are so weird that I can't even put them into words.
The most 'normal' thing that happened in a dream last night was that I had a dead beetle stuck up my nose.

GG13 we should meet up, somewhere by the beach, in the sun!
Witzend I have been woken suddenly on a couple of mornings and wondered just for a second where I was, and yes it is b*** disappointing!

Oddly enough, this morning DH and I had a chat about our dreams. In his dreams, the pandemic is always present: in mine, it's never happened! I wonder how other people's dreams reflect (or don't) the current crisis?

No such luck, my dreams are (nearly) all super-weird.
In a way I’m glad I’m not dreaming about swimming in lovely warm sea though - it’d be such a come down when I woke up to see snow outside!

They could be my dreams trisher last night I dreamt I was in Cornwall learning to surf (one of my AC would find that hilarious as he is an expert in all sports entailing a board). Afterwards we were sat in a beachside bistro, I was enjoying a latte, which was so delicious in my dream.

I have also had lots of dreams where we are leaving our hotel room for the airport and I am the only one packing, DH, AC& GC are just relaxing and saying “we’ll do it in time. That is definitely my control freakery coming to the fore!

I've just noticed that in my dreams now I seem to be on holiday a lot, walking in the country, sitting on the beach, swimming in the sea. But last night a new theme emerged I was sitting in a cafe having coffee and cake Compensating or what!!!
Are you dreamng about things you're not doing?
