Desperately sad story of the assisted suicide of a grieving mother
Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, and its dry and cold outside here in Brackley this morning.
I did manage to walk and do a small shop , having looked at online and the limits as to having to spend in order to shop plus charges .
When the supermarket is less than 5 minutes walk away , also chance to try out the excempt face mask situ.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning all from a very cold Glasgow but with the sun shining on glistening snow, it’s such a pretty view.
Bits of this and that today. The hair washing ordeal for me this morning too. Once slightly damp I use my Big Hair Babylis to finish the job. Best thing I have bought in a long time and best of all no more visits, whenever that may happen, for a blow dry!
Brilliant news for your daughter Sar. What a relief she must be feeling. I am so pleased for her.
Have a good day all.
I tried to make the name marydoll in bold , the same as some of you are able to do, but can't seem to manage it.
Good morning from central Lanarkshire where it is a very cold - 8 degrees. Just been reading all your lovely posts on here . Hope you all have a nice day.
Your family is very considerate marydoll, what a very kind thing to do for you and all your neighbours
Good morning from very cold Scottish Borders. -8 but No wind so the snow is still on the trees making them look very pretty.
Good news from Marydoll and from Sar but what agonies you have been through.
Scentia Have fun with your guinea pigs. I hope they are the same sex as when I was a child our 2 produced 46.
Gaelic this afternoon and I need to do some homework. My knitting has developed a strange hole, I must see my knitting guru.....maybe on zoom.
I keep being sent adverts for luggage so I don't think the businesses have listened to Government guidelines about holidays.
A walk is not out of the question but the snow is deep.
Good morning everyone from a very frosty but bright Northampton. They say it has been -8 overnight. Glad I don't have to go out as the road and pavements look very icy.
Sainsbury's delivery this morning, so I must put the large shopping bags into the porch, so the driver can transfer the shopping. Have just had an email to say they have everything on my list, and no substitutions, yeah!
Could not resist ordering more wool yesterday as they had a good offer on; 5 balls of Aran wool, enough to make a cardigan, for £7 ish, so have ordered some in a lovely green shade. When my deliveries arrive I will have enough for two projects.
Good news Sar and pleased that you have had your first jab Marydoll. It is three weeks ago today that I had mine so should have some immunity by now. I am to wait for the surgery to contact me with details of the second.
A peaceful day to all.
Good morning, Mick and everyone. Here on the Cumbrian coast it is -3C but brilliantly sunny. The sun tempts me out for a stroll but commonsense tells me to stay in the warm. Therefore, it's an ironing morning followed by the reward of sitting by my sunny window reading.
I pulled up my kitchen blinds to find poor hungry birds in the garden...blue tits hammering away at the frozen fat balls and a blackbird scoffing the apple halves I'd scattered over the lawn. They do love them and, fortunately, the crows, pigeons and gulls don't.
Marydoll, I was pleased to read you had a positive and heartwarming day for once. Wishing all of us positive days.
Good morning,
It’s a beautiful bright, crisp morning today. I took my car down to the local garage for its MOT and walked back and it was lovely. Very cold, but not the biting cold of a few days ago because the wind has gone. Car thermometer registered -5 degrees c. Anyway, I’ve got back in plenty of time for my Pilates class, which is good, so I’ll set up the equipment shortly and get ready for that. Should be as fit as a fiddle by bedtime ?.
Good news Marydoll. Yesterday was certainly very positive for you, I’m so pleased.
Take care everyone.
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Good morning Mick and all his followers.
Cold (-5?) and bright in our bit of Suffolk today, with a dusting of new snow. We have a click and collect this afternoon.
I have spent 2 days getting the limescale off the shower screen - a job I hate. It looks much better now but we have very hard water, so it will soon be back.
Great news Sar and what a lovely family you have Marydoll.
Beechnut there is a man in our village who keeps pigeons - they all zoom out in a flock when he opens up. There are some pure white ones, which stand out from the local wood pigeons.
DH got the vaccine phonecall yesterday, for his jab today in Leicester. Unfortunately we moved away from there 18 months ago!
I hope you all have a good day.
Good Morning everyone, bright and cold here , no snow .
Greyduster snap ! My lovely GS is 14 today ! He is getting a computer , courtesy of his big brother who has built himself a new one and refurbished one for him , of course we have swelled his bank account too , and cake will be available
I have made him bread in the bread maker .... yes .. he does ask for it !
Good morning all from a freezing S Hants. Brilliant news Sar cheered me right up and you must be mightily relieved. Marydoll a whirlwind of events, all positive, about time too. The no alcohol before and after vaccination, I wonder why that isn’t publicised more?
A wash will go on later and I’ll brave the shower, the en suite is unheated, I’ve closed the window in there for now, it’s was open overnight. I have to return a lined fleece from that’s too small, first time I’ve returned anything, but stuck the Hermes label on and drop at the local Coop. The zip on my €8 one from a French market years ago has totally bust. Mind the slippy surfaces all and stay safe.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It was so cold in South Yorkshire last night that the heating kicked in, but the sun is shining and we have a bright day in prospect. It’s my GS’s 14th birthday today. We will take a cake and presents over this afternoon to hand over in the drive. Happy Birthdays and cake cutting will be via face time.
Pitt I have visions of your DH fishing through a hole in the ice! Brave man in this weather. Our season doesn’t start until next month. Hopefully it will be a bit warmer by then!
Welcome Nell08! Have a good day, everyone.
Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where the sun is shining brightly and the temperature is -7. A beautiful winter day.
Such great news about your daughter sar, sending my wishes to her. Your little Guinea pigs are very cute Scentia we had one as company for the rabbit. At that point we had a dog and two cats as well, the rabbit and one of the cats often played together while the dog lay patiently letting them tumble over her.
ginny hope your scan goes well.
I’m glad you’ve finally had your vaccine Marydoll and had a smashing virtual visit from your wee Dollie.
Our postie delivered a parcel yesterday morning and I heard him telling DH that he’d be back later with our vaccine letters, he had them both in the van. Good as his word after he’d done the parcel round he was back and put the two blue envelopes into my hand. Yay! We are in different age groups and were to go to two different centres on two different days but we’re able to easily change them online to go together on the same day.
I’m about to wash my hair, drying it is always a task I don’t look forward to, I have to let it dry naturally for a couple of hours then wrestle with it to dry it properly and get rid of the waves.
Sainsbury’s delivery later, then more crochet whilst listening to my book.
Have a peaceful day everyone.
Good morning all from a bright and sunny teddington, but very cold. Glad to hear that Marydoll has had her jab and that SARS daughter is doing so well. I managed to get a slot at the tip for our garden waste, we have some on the allotment, not allowed bonfires so as it is lots of brambles we have to dump it. I'll have to scrape off the car, lots of frost. Keep safe everyone.
Good morning from North Yorkshire. According to Alexa it’s -7 here.
Had a lovely walk through the village and along to the river yesterday.
Ironing today and a parent group on Zoom. DGS this afternoon on FaceTime.
Pleased to hear your news Sar.
Mary good to read your latest exploits. You sound cheerful again.
Auntieflo and Georgesgran you are in my thoughts.
Have a good day everyone and stay safe.
Good morning from another snowy day in Essex.
Sar such good news for you. ?. Wishing your DD well.
Ashcombe - I hadnt heard about the no alcohol before having the vaccine. I hardly ever drink but had a small Sherry the night before . ?. Felt rough yesterday with aching limbs and a headache, but I slept well last night and have woken feeling so much better. DS1 brought in pie and chips for our tea to save us cooking.
Scentia your new babies look so sweet. Guineas are lovely creatures and your GC will love them.
I will walk the dog later and hope it’s not too skiddy. Yesterday it was like a skating rink even with my grippers fixed to my boots. Little pooch loves the snow and makes us laugh when she plays in it. She comes in looking like a little snow bear.
Stay safe today. ?
Morning Mick and all
We have had more snow overnight, the birthday boy stayed here last night with his Mum (DD) and baby brother because he wanted to wake up at Grandma & Grandpa’s on his birthday. The fact that we have had more snow has added to the exception here ❄️⛄️
Sar53 what a relief to hear your DD’s news
Marydoll take things easy after your exciting two days, your DD and SIL are stars ⭐️⭐️
Keep safe, warm and well folks ?♀️
Good morning Mick and all GNs from a very cold and sunny South Glos.
Good news Marydoll and you must feel so proud of the kindness and thoughtfulness of your DD and SIL.
Love the photo of the baby guineapiggies, Scentia ... so sweet.
Great news about your DD Sar53. What a relief for you.
Not much going on here except yet more wrangling with my ISP over WiFi dropping on the TV. It's taking up so much time with hanging on the phone or waiting to be called back.
Thinking of Auntieflo and Georgesgran and all who are struggling at the moment. Have as good a day as possible everyone. x
Interesting, NanKate to read about the reaction to your alcohol abstention thread. A case of “You can take the horse to water....etc”, if you’ll pardon the pun!!
Good morning everyone from a cold and frosty east coast of Fife where we had a snow blizzard yesterday it had a great affect on folks getting their cars dug out. I’m pleased to say my carers are managing to get here.
Thank you to the gns who were on zoom with me yesterday it must be frustrating for some when I interrupt the conversation I’m afraid that’s part of the side effects of having a stroke my brain goes too fast for those who don’t know please be patient with me.
However the snowy conditions didn’t stop my dh going out for his vaccine and my antibiotics.
I’m hoping my vaccine doesn’t get delayed because of my UTI I had a little fever last night with a mild headache ?
Anyhow today’s another step closer to FREEDOM hurrah
Sarah excellent news this morning.
Keep well all you lovely guys I love reading your morning stories, may your day be fruitful and comforting
Good morning Mick and All.
A frozen but sunny South Bucks.
I’m with you on the sofa Bellasnana watching the tennis. Waiting for our lad to appear ?
Such positive news from you Marydoll. Your Dollie sounds quite a character, just like her Gran ?
Ashcombe I posted a thread about stopping drinking alcohol before and after the jab, just to give oneself the best possible chance of taking up the vaccine. I wasn’t greeted with too much enthusiasm and some thought I was entirely wrong so I crept away and left them to it.
Mick don’t be surprised if folks keep well away from you whilst out. Whenever I see anyone without a mask I turn away from them and let them pass, as it makes me feel more vulnerable. I do understand you are exempt.
Marydoll your DD and SiL are lovely, kind people. Glad to read you had a good day yesterday and had a nice zoom chat with Dollie
Good morning from another icy cold Black Country with clear skies.
Sorted out Mums Portal yesterday, it had been knocked out ofWifi, so I just had to input the passcode. She said she had a power cut just before it went off, but didn't realise that may be relevant! I did show her what to do in case in happens again, but I know it wasn't sinking in. She is 91 after all
Brilliant news Sar such a relief for you all.
Good to hear so many of you are getting your vaccinations. I am 67 and yet to hear, but I know of so many who are a couple of years younger than me who have (no health issuses) So I am hoping it won't be too long now, it obviously depends on the area you live in.
Welcome Nell8 to this very friendly thread
Wishing you all a warm and safe day
Good morning Mick and all from a frosty, freezing S Welsh coast. There is a cold wind blowing and the eastern sky is streaked red.
We had our vaccines yesterday, a phone call from the surgery at lunchtime inviting us to go at 4.25. Thought that we would have to wait weeks yet as I am 65, 66 next month and Mr L is 69. There was no queue, all done by the nurses and it took no more than 15 mins, we had the Astra Zeneca Oxford injection and so far no side effects. We have our next appointment too, May 4th which made our delighted offspring to both declare " that's Star Wars Day then - May the Forth be with you" ?
Some cleaning to do today that I didn't get around to yesterday and I will defrost some soup.
Excellent news Sar I'm so pleased for your daughter and your relief is palpable.
Have a pleasant day everyone and stay safe.
