Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, and its dry and cold outside here in Brackley this morning.
I did manage to walk and do a small shop , having looked at online and the limits as to having to spend in order to shop plus charges .
When the supermarket is less than 5 minutes walk away , also chance to try out the excempt face mask situ.
Take Care,
Mick

Hello from West Wales. We've just come back from a bitterly cold walk, but managed 4.5 miles in 1 1/2 hrs. Just about to mark some school work and that'll be me done for the day. Hope everyone's having a lovely day.

Marydoll Thu 11-Feb-21 12:45:06

moggie5, there are a couple of threads about this. I don't think you will get an answer here on the Good Morning thread.

A lot of people in my areaarea who have had the vaccine are left feeling quite unwell for several days.making me wonder with all my underlying health problems will it name me really ill

Good morning all
Just come back from the opticians. It felt so weird to be out of the village. Didn’t help that it was snowing - just a few flakes that have come to nothing. Minus 2 but feeling so much colder.
Feels like it’s Friday today - guess that’s what is like to be newly retired- have lost a bit of my routine!
Have a lovely day everyone ?

Good morning all from a brilliantly sunny Angus coast. A very late start as I had a flare-up of my skin condition meaning very little sleep and lying there muttering "Don't scratch. Do NOT scratch."
Wonderful news about your DD Sar - so happy for you! And great to hear of all the vaccinations being carried out. I didn't know about the 'no alcohol' advice, but as I only have the occasional weak g+t I doubt if it would have had any effect (or maybe that's why I had no adverse side effects? ?)
My main task today is to top up the water in the pond if required. I had to bring the hose indoors last night to de-ice - and that alone was a day's task!
I had a chuckle when I saw your guinea pig photo Scentia - I thought for a moment it was of a rather cute pair of furry bedroom slippers?. Thank you for that!
Have the best day everyone and think of all those snowdrops, crocuses and daffodils hiding under the snow just waiting to emerge when this cold snap is over. Stay cosy and safe ??☀️???

Good morning all. The sunshine is glorius and I am going for a long walk with the dog through the snowy forest. It was minus 10 degrees last night. But that is ok with me. I like a cold and crispy winter. I keep putting walnuts out for the suirrels. The snow is quite deep. Next week I am going to renew my passport in the hope of being able to travel to Britain.

Wishing you all a happy day and may your worries be small ones. I haven`t been able to read your mails yet.

Take care. x

? for you GrannySomerset.

Mapleleaf Thu 11-Feb-21 11:15:11

Great news about your daughter Sar. You must be so relieved. ?
Scentia, those guinea pigs look adorable. 8 bet you can’t wait for the 27th.?

hollysteers Thu 11-Feb-21 11:15:01

Good morning Mick and all from a very sunny northwest coast, although not going out today. Felt headachey and slightly nauseous yesterday, cutting short my walk around the park. I had my vax last Friday, so don’t think it’s that.Unless it was using up the stuffing from Xmas in the freezer?

Nice FaceTime with daughter in the south and my cat is truly spoiled now, but I like it, constant miaows for attention, turning me into a cat waitress. So just pottering, feel like a different person after nearly a year of semi isolation.
Wishing anyone with worries all the best.

Oh goodness Stilllearning, that is an early appointment! DH is having his tomorrow, a trip into town, 12.15 at Louisa Jordan hub. Good luck for tomorrow.

Gwenisgreat1 Thu 11-Feb-21 11:10:49

Good Morning all from sunny and white Harrogate. Glad to hear your news, Marydoll. you sound much brighter today.
I remember when we had a pretty cold spell in Glasgow, the oil for the central heating froze!! We found out what really cold was then!!
Mick could you not share a delivery with a neighbour? I know you'd miss going out to the shop, but you'd stay safe?
Another day with nothing planned, yesterday I did catch up with two friends, one in Rochdale and the other in Mount Florida, Glasgow. Today I might finish cleaning the oven - decided I need daylight to see what I am doing.
I must have read your thread "Nankate* and I did stay off the juice for the required time!!
Scentia love your little piggies! we had a Guinea pig when we lived in Aberdeen, He was such a little character, loved having his tummy tickled or sitting on DH's shoulder nibbling his ear. A neighbours child took him in her dolls pram to a pet gala, which he won!!

Keep well, folks, thinking of those who are not posting, hoping we hear from them soon!!

Blossoming Thu 11-Feb-21 10:40:37

Good morning all from a very chilly Lancashire. I haven’t read all your posts yet. Just popped in to say that’s wonderful news about your daughter Sar58

Stilllearning Thu 11-Feb-21 10:40:04

Morning from S Lanarkshire, I had a lovely walk yesterday with bubble daughter and granddaughter which really lifted my spirits, even though I’d forgotten to put the soup I’d made for them in the fridge and it had gone off (it had coconut milk in it)?. Never mind I was able to send them home with the fruit loaf once I trimmed the black bits off the ends, domestic goddess not.
grandtante you reminded me of the horrors of Napisan rinsing, often in cold water! My daughters wouldn’t believe me if I did tell them.
Grammaretto, that was a very pithy warning to Scentia, it made me laugh out loud!
Really happy for you and your daughter Sar, truly happy news to start the day.
Good wishes everyone, I’m going to worry all day in case I sleep in for my vaccine at 8 o’clock tomorrow morning!

Nannagarra Thu 11-Feb-21 10:31:57

Looking back at my message for Sar53 I want to clarify that I was sending flowers for the worry and stress she’s had and fingers crossed that her DD’s recovery continues to go well. You’ve had brilliant news, Sar53.
I’m often accused of over-thinking. Hopefully I’ve got this right now.

hulahoop Thu 11-Feb-21 10:19:37

Ginny hope scan goes well hope you don't have to wait long for result .
sars that's good news.
Farview hope your neighbour gets home safe lockdown makes just popping in difficult when that's what you want to do .
Stay safe everyone.

GrannySomerset Thu 11-Feb-21 10:07:15

Great news from Sar, great entertainment from Marydoll and great pictures of the lovely guinea pigs from Scentia - improved my morning hugely. A very tiresome start to the day involving DH behaving strangely, bed changing, carpet cleaning and a couple of loads of washing, all before I had had a cup of tea. Reading this thread has helped restore my equanimity and enabled me to calm down and face the day.

So when I have finished sorting out the disaster upstairs I will escape to do the Tesco run. Might need a small treat as a reward, but it needs to be floral rather than edible. Still bitter here but no snow for which I am thankful. Life is complicated enough!

farview Thu 11-Feb-21 09:57:07

Morning all from a very very cold Bolton..just had to scrape ice from inside my car!!!
Good news and very sad news day...got my vaccine app for tomorrow...
Our next door neighbour/good friend is being discharged from hospital after 3weeks ..with a palliative care plan in place...
Make the most of your day everyone..they are so precious ?

Alexa Thu 11-Feb-21 09:55:31

Good morning , Thursday and I am glad to see you are clear and sunny and have not let the cold deter you from beaming brightly at me and my brave daffodil shoots.

muse Thu 11-Feb-21 09:37:44

Good norning from grey cold Cornwall. The thermometer say 3°. * I do not believe it*. Feel more like -3°
Our usual dog walk last 1/4 of the time. Mya was desperate to get back to the cottage.

What a lovely family you have Marydoll. Start ringing early for the next vaccation. Take care out side. You seem to have the lowest temperature. sad

Mick - could you try click and collect. I use Morrisons once a week, Only have to spend £25 and free.

It's a week since we were Pfizerred. and I had seen reports ab out alcohol. On average our units never amount to more than recommended allowance (14 per week). Probably 1/2 of that. I asked about the alcohol and was told there's nothing to show that a small amount will impact on the effectiveness of the vaccine and yes it can affect those who drink much larger quantities. Beyond an achey arm for 48 hrs no side affects. I was really bad with the pneumonia vaccine last year.

Nothing much planned today except to keep the fire stacked up with logs. Looking for plain curtains for new house (2 french doors) but need to decide on the colour.

Urm Are you doing your hair treatment today? Hope all goes well tomorrow. Your hair is a gorgeous colour.

Gelisajams Thu 11-Feb-21 09:31:46

Good morning from a beautiful Morecambe Bay. The snow flurry last night has frozen and there is a clear blue sky. I’m just off for a walk by the shore.
Good to read a good few positives today. Stay safe everyone ?

FannyCornforth Thu 11-Feb-21 09:28:29

Good Morning Everyone from me in a sunny and positively balmy Derby (2 degrees!)
Scentia your piggies are gorgeous! I'm excited on your behalf (and a wee bit envy). Do you have names for them?
Marydoll well done on your vaccine. I've finally managed to sort DH's out - he can have it at home. Hallelujah.
(Sorry that I haven't commented on many posters' news - I still find it difficult to follow everything - but I'm determined to get into the swing of the Good Morning, good vibes tradition of things! smile)
Wishing everyone a peaceful and positive day.

Good morning from a very sunny south Cumbria. The birds seem very active this morning which can only be a good sign. I'm already wondering what to make for our meal tonight. Husband is trying to shed some weight (doctors orders) and I'm heartily sick of making warming vegetable soups and stews.
Stay safe everyone.

Kalu Thu 11-Feb-21 09:20:11

polomint. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page, look for emphasis and on the list, you will find instructions how to bold names etc. ?
