Good Morning all from -2 Harrogate, the snow is disappearing and no more forecast!

I've had my shower (I know you wanted to know that!!) My DD1 has phoned to make sure we are OK. She's taken to looking after an elderly man nearby - she just goes to check he's OK and gets bits of shopping for him.
Interesting to hear about The Burrell collection Marydoll - was so disappointed it was close 2019 when we were in Glasgow. I feel that collection haunted me as a child. A good days outing for me then was a trip to Kelvingrove (Still get withdrawal symptoms if I don't get to see it). As a child there were so many corridors "closed for the Burrell collection" If I peered round, all I could see where bits of stone!! When we lived in Newton Mearns, the Burrell Collection was finally opened - it was wonderful. Lovely memories, thank you Marydoll

Good morning Mick and everyone from a very chilly S Wales - it's rather grey here too. DH had to take a hammer to the ice on the bird bath this morning. Most days the thick sheet of ice has lifted off so it must be colder here today.

I hope all goes well today Mick and anyone else who is going for their jab or recovering from it ; hoping my mojo comes back too as I keep nodding off every time I sit down after having my vaccination last week.

I think we're all entitled to a down day, especially just now, baubles.

Gelisajams is it the N Devon/Somerset coast where Exmoor sweeps down to the sea?

Greyduster if you're like me your jumper should be nearly ready by high summer, but it does help to pass the time!

Mick, you must be disappointed, but your doctor definitely knows best.
It's also a sign you should be resting up. I was surprised you felt able to go out and about right away. I'm still out of sorts, five weeks after my heart attack.
You need to look after yourself, you don't want to end up back in hospital, which is my greatest fear. It's not a pleasant place to be at the moment.

Sorry to hear you’re not quite 10% yet Mick. That hospital stay will have knocked the stuffing out of you. Rest up as much as you can to restore your strength and mental well being. You’ve had a tough time.

I’m with you muse it’s lovely hearing from those over in Europe. I like the name of your dog amselerin. Did you say he’s a dachshund? Such cute hounds. I’d have one if I could but my retired lifestyle choices don’t allow.

Did not have the jab , still not a 100% , I feel sick, my own doctor was going to do it , he advised me I would get some Flu effects .
Another try 2 weeks down the road may cancel my MOT as well , sooner be 100% right in myself and a chance to recover from the Hospital experience , which still haunts me in some ways , plus cold weather has not helped me , here's hoping we get into a more seasonal weather situ .
Mild weather , will help .

I sent my friend a Chinese restaurant meal yesterday - for Chinese New Year - and had one myself (mine was a homemade stirfry) I felt quite sick after mine and I have yet to find out how she is.

I think your collage is beautiful Gelisjams where is it? It could be any of the beautiful coastal scenes I miss so much.

I also enjoy graveyards baubles and was once part of a group recording gravestone inscriptions. It was called Recording Angels

Good morning everyone from north Kent where it is a beautiful sunny day, but still very cold with lots of snow and ice hanging about on the pavements so think I will stay in the garden with the birds.

Lots of good news today - jabs being had and many upcoming, good results from blood tests, the safe arrival of a bouncing baby girl; all positive vibes that we need to read about to help us keep going.

Baubles, when Mother was pregnant, my parents used to visit cemeteries to get inspiration for names. They found my GGF’s first wife’s grave, and called me after her! a very old fashioned name... Thanks a bunch, Dad!

The view from my room as a 1st year student in the nurses home at GRI was overlooking the Necropolis. A bit disappointed my view wasn’t Glasgow Cathedral.

Good morning all from clear blue-skied west Kent. All the snow seems to have cleared from the paths and roads that are visible from the house and looking forward to a balmy 4 degrees tomorrow!
Had a sad day yesterday after learning that a neighbour had died suddenly last week (not covid related)
Had met him and his wife just the day before while out walking so it was a great shock. Such is life.

Had our first little flurry of snow 10 mins ago (Cornwall). Lasted about 30 secs.
Hoping Mya's relapse was temporary. Had a useful chat with the locum vet late yesterday. Going to feed Mya some Probiotic fibre. Lifted my spirits a bit.
Cold wet grey walk this morning. Still a bitter wind.
Lots of vaccinations happening today.

ExD I’m in your club of minimal side effects post-jab (which I had on Monday). I had a slightly tender upper arm - that’s all.
It may well be a different scenario chez nous this pm as DH is having his at noon! He went on and on after his flu jab...!!!

Struggling to get going this morning, but thankfully DH is happy to stay warm in bed for a little longer so at least going slowly doesn’t matter. One of those days when waking up felt pointless, but that will pass. Grey and still bitterly cold so don’t think a little walk will be a good idea. Oh to be able to ask friends in for an hour - we need the stimulus of other people more than ever.

So sorry Marydoll had the expected reaction to her jab but delighted that so many are getting theirs. Fabulous collage, Gelisajams, very clever. Have the best day we can, everyone. One step nearer, and all that.

Good morning all from still frosty Lueneburg. Minus 16 last night. Now I am tanking vitamin D in the brilliant sunshine. Yesterday I went with Waldi (my dog) to the little lake near me. The lake looked like a painting from Buegel "The Winterland" or so. It was so uplifting to see so many children and their parents skating- The laughing sound of children was great. Now I am going to the village shop and this afternoon I am visiting a friend for tea and cake. No sign of any injection being available for me.

It’s so uplifting to hear that many posters are booked to have the vax and that Mick and Kalu will have it today. There’s also brilliant news from Marydoll about the mother and baby and from Urmstongran about the blood test results. That’s a beautiful collage, Gelisajams - how clever you are. My grandmother lived in Morecambe.
I’m counting signs of Spring. My front garden, heavily planted with crocuses and daffs, is gearing up ready to bring cheer to all who pass by. The vixen must have mated as I haven’t heard her call for more than a week now. Garden birds are becoming more vocal. Nature gives such positive messages and is a wonderful distraction.

Good morning from S Cumbria where the day has settled into a dull grey one, bitterly cold still after a spectacular sunrise.
Am I the only person in the country who had no side effects from 'the' jab? Just a vaguely heavy arm which I don't think I'd have noticed if I hadn't read about all the aches and pains others have reported. What a relief to get it.

Good morning, Saturday Grans. Here in Derby, England, all I know of local events this AM is the local weather which is clear and cold.

Morning from S Lanarkshire, vaccination early yesterday was fine and then I spent the day organising food for the weekend in case I had a reaction. Just as well, I started to feel quite unwell last evening and still not great now. Oban daughter who is a nurse happened to be on FaceTime and was a bit taken aback by sudden appearance of a huge and painful black and blue bruise on the back of my hand but it disappeared as suddenly as it arrived! Anyhow, took paracetamol and had a good sleep. I don’t feel sparkling but more paracetamol and a restful day will sort it I’m sure. I am very grateful to have had my jab, onwards and upwards!
I read yesterday’s posts last night and was delighted to see that your friend’s granddaughter and baby are well Marydoll, wonderful news indeed. baubles, hope today is a better one.
