Today is covid jab day for number 1 , my brother is taking me to my surgery to get it done .
Then the usual sit down watch TV day , had a letter also from my surgery as to a MOT unlike my usual bi yearly diabetes check , its the usual blood test , etc and I have to submit a questionnaire as to some basic things like weight etc .
Take Care,
Mick

Baubles, a few years ago we walked through the cemetery in St Andrews. It was fascinating, but sad to read about the lives of the people who were buried there. Seafarers, young men who had gone to war and never returned and so many children, who never survived infancy.
The Necropolis in Glasgow is on my list of places to visit, when I'm allowed out. You get a great view of it from one of the waiting rooms at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. ?

Good Morning everyone from Going-for-a-beach-walk-while-DH fishes- South of France. Glorious day, am about to put together a picnic, a book, some biscuits for the dogs, flask, binoculars. Maybe we won’t park too far from our picnic spot!

Welcome lady from Germany (sorry missed your name over the page). Hope you’re safe where you are and COVID life seems to be getting better ?

That is simply beautiful, Gelisa. Don’t fight it Grey ... get those needles out. Can you go somewhere nice you’ve not been for a while, Mattie? Your Mojo might be there. x

Mary don’t you deserve a real break? Be kind, plump up those pillows, let DH peel you a grape and give yourself a chance to recover. ?. Lovely news about that big babba and her Mum.

Harri please take every bit of help you can. You deserve that and more.?

Scentia you made me laugh out loud. Are you now the style Police for Burton on Trent...or what? GrandmaB what sort of a boy takes away his lovely Mummy’s Tiramisu? Oh dear! ?

Thinking of you Cherry, Auntieflo, Georgesgran, Nortsat and anyone having a rough or sad time.

Seize those vaccines, folks. Have a good Saturday!
?⛵️?‍♀️?????

Good morning Mick, morning all from chilly South Lanarkshire. Minus 4 with a fair wind by the sounds of it. I’ve no intentions of going out just yet. Hope your jab goes well Mick.

Super news about the baby Mary-doll hope you’re feeling better today. Beautiful collage Gelisajams, no idea where it is though, unless of course the clue is where you live.

Thanks for all the good wishes yesterday, sorry to have been such a misery. I think you’re right about hitting the wall sheep.

Went for a longish walk yesterday and came back through the cemetery to cheer me up. I jest, I actually love an old cemetery and don’t find it depressing. Little pooch needed a lie down and a cuddle with teddy when we got home.

More of the same today but I’ve decided to make that my mantra Nankate ‘another day nearer release’ I’ll repeat it to myself every day.

Have as peaceful a day as possible everyone.

Marydoll Sorry to hear you're having such a bad reaction to the vac. What a rotten time you have had in 2021 - it can only get better. flowers As Captain Tom says "Tomorrow will be a good day."

Love the spectacular photo you posted up.

Take care.

Sparklefizz Sat 13-Feb-21 09:17:54

Gelisajams Fabulous collage! How talented you are. Well done.

Good morning from a cold and dull Black Country. Oh for Spring to arrive, everything seems so much better with a bit of sun and warmth.

Lovely walk with my friend yesterday who lives nearby. She had her jab Thursday, and is younger than me, so it must be my turn soon?

Another weird dream last night. I have been having them since lockdown started last March. Cannot remember the details now, but it was very unsettling when I woke.

We are having our Valentines meal tonight, courtesy from M & S. Duck starter, Lamb main, and billionair pots for dessert!

Wonderful news of your friends Granddaughter Marydoll, such a relief for everyone. Sorry you had a reaction, and hope you feel much better by the end of today.

Good news for you too Urmston hope you feel more relaxed now.

Thanks for the recommendation BlueSapphire I have read a few of Mike Gayles novels and enjoyed them.

Wishing you all a good and safe day

Good morning from central Lanarkshire. - 4 degrees with a dark sky so I think rain or snow might not be far off. Have a pleasant day everyone

EkwaNimitee Sat 13-Feb-21 09:06:22

Good morning Mick and All from the Cumbrian coast. It started out -2C with a lovely pink sky, now it's clouding over and a breeze is picking up. Snow was forecast but I doubt it will reach the coast.
I had a sociable day yesterday . For me, in these times, that means a long phone call with my sister, a shorter masked face to masked face with the Tesco delivery man and, finally, a call from my house builders rep. My new home has the first fix joiners, electricians and plumbers in, that is, walls, ceilings, floors, cabling and pipes are going in. It's further on than I thought so now I'm praying to get completion before the stamp duty holiday ends. If lockdown ends about the same time, I shall feel I'm starting a new life.
The best day possible to you all.

Urmstongran Sat 13-Feb-21 09:02:22

Your mention of crumpets BlueSapphire put me in mind of EllanVannin. x

harrigran Sat 13-Feb-21 08:56:26

Good morning from a still freezing NE where it is -3.
Yesterday the phone was ringing all day with people making sure we knew who to ring for help.
A whole year we have been absolutely alone with no help and at the beginning of lockdown last year we were unable to get a grocery delivery for five weeks.
Four weeks today since my vaccination, hoping they will be starting second ones soon.
Take care and stay warm.

Anniebach Sat 13-Feb-21 08:54:57

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Scentia Sat 13-Feb-21 08:51:01

Gelisajams. Is it a view across Morcombe bay?

Alygran Sat 13-Feb-21 08:48:51

Good morning from North Yorkshire. More sunshine today but accompanied by high winds. The temperature is forecast to stay below freezing.
Croissants for breakfast shortly then some tidying up. I have a baby jacket to sew up and FaceTime later with DD2.
Hope everyone has a good day. Stay safe.

Susan56 Sat 13-Feb-21 08:43:01

Meant to say what a beautiful collage gelisajams. My guess is Windermere?

Jaxjacky Sat 13-Feb-21 08:41:51

Good morning all, chilly here -2 in S Hants and cloudy, should be the last day of cold, for now. Good news on the vaccinations, every time my phone pings I’m on it, but not yet. My hair desperately needs cut, DH just asked if I was having a bad hair day, for him to notice means it’s dire! It was oddly normal last night to see some football cancelled today because of a frozen pitch, not Covid, small things. Defrosted beef stew for dinner tonight with mash and veg. Have a gentle day all.

Susan56 Sat 13-Feb-21 08:41:44

Good morning from Shropshire. Its very cold but no ice.Snow forecast later.

I am making maids of honour for DH this morning. His favourite treat.I made cupcakes earlier in the week for DGS so am feeling like a bit of a domestic goddess?

Hoping Cherry is ok and feeling better.

Thinking of Auntieflo and Georgesgran and all others with illness, worries and lost mojo’s?

Oopsadaisy1 Sat 13-Feb-21 08:39:00

Good morning Mick and everyone, from a cold and bitterly cold.
I had the AZ jab last evening, so far all OK, everyone there was very upbeat and chatty (through the masks) quite different from when indoors in the surgery waiting room, but it was very cold in the short queue.
Gelisajams the collage is lovely, Marydoll so relieved that Mother and Baby are both safe and hopefully will improve really quickly, hopefully you will also have a better day.
Well the Jackdaws are busy nest building in the chimney , very noisy, we had the chimney pot covered with netting last year, but they have pulled it off, lots of busy birds in the garden this morning, but the Jackdaws strut around and seem to scare the small birds away from the bird table.
anyway, hope everyone has a good day, stay indoors in the warm if you can and stay safe.

Good morning everyone from a light windy east coast of Fife. Where the sun appears to have risen very early. I had a wonderful sleep last night no feelings of sickness like the night before. I feel up to going on the motomed I think I’ll cycle to the sunny coastline of the Algarve. Last night when we were in bed we had a FaceTime call. Our dd and gs how lovely to see our dg jumping about on his bed doing somersaults as children do. Then there was the dog licking him to bits wanting to join in the fun, lots of laughter all around. We’ve scheduled another FaceTime this morning I’m looking forward to that. Keep safe everyone try not to slip on these icy conditions there’s so much happening near me resulting in broken limbs (ouch) and the most exciting thing yesterday was that we had a visit from the police wanting to see if our Ring camera picked up evidence up of a robbery nearby and yes it did catch the perpetrators on camera. Hugs all around you lovely gns ❤️

Greyduster Sat 13-Feb-21 08:32:57

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a bright but very cold South Yorkshire. Not as cold as yesterday though, so we may go out later. I may also try and order some wool and a pattern online, as, though I vowed last year never to take up my knitting needles again, I have a sudden yen to knit myself a sweater! Perhaps I should have a lie down until it passes.......?
Hope there is some sunshine in your day folks.

brook2704 Sat 13-Feb-21 08:31:57

Good news about the precious baby marydoll hoping they are both doing well and also that you’re feeling better soon.
What a beautiful collage gelisajams so much creativity and talent on here - well done ?
I’m no good at guessing where it is though - unless of course it’s the beautiful morecambe bay where you live?

grannysyb Sat 13-Feb-21 08:31:41

More bright chilly weather here. Had a lovely walk with DD yesterday in Richmond park, however the wind was bitter! Saw all three GCs briefly which was lovely. DD has had two online parents evenings with their respective schools and they are both doing well. They are waiting to hear what has been decided about A levels as DGD1 is doing them this year. Glad Marydolls friends daughter is doing well and pleased that the baby is here, what an ordeal for her and her family. Hope the reaction disappears Marydoll. Have a good day everyone.

Grandmabatty Sat 13-Feb-21 08:23:42

Good morning all from Polmont. -4 degrees this morning which is heading in the right direction as it was -8 yesterday. There seems to be better news from many this morning. I, like many of you, am looking forward to seeing the end of the snow and ice. Good to hear how many are getting the call! My lovely son came for dinner last night and it was so nice to see him. The mushroom stroganoff was very tasty. He took the tiramisu away with him to save me from eating it. Today I will get the washings up to date and change the bedding. A bit of floor washing too. Leek and potato soup for lunch and Bolognaise for dinner. Have a good day all.

Gelisajams Sat 13-Feb-21 08:17:01

Good morning from Morecambe Bay where it’s dry and calm but probably cold.
Some bits of good news here from my first glance . I’ll read through properly later. Saturday chat with my friend shortly, something to keep me grounded so I know what day it is. I had it as Saturday all day yesterday.
A little firm I get my blouses from is handing the company over to their daughter so we’re having a sale. I went mad and bought some of their blouses which came yesterday. I just need the opportunity to wear them now!
I’ve attached a photo of the collage I finished yesterday. Quiz time- anyone recognise where it’s supposed to be? Answers on here tomorrow.
Take care, stay safe everyone ?

Dorsetcupcake61 Sat 13-Feb-21 08:15:59

Morning all from a cloudy and very chilly Dorset! Just wanted to say good luck to all those having vaccines at the moment. My area seems to be ahead of schedule as I'm in group 6 and had mine yesterday. I had the ffeizer one and other than tenderness at injection sight (which has almost disappeared this morning)no problems. I think I was taken aback by how relieved I felt,as if an enormous weight had been lifted. I know I still have to follow all the rules etc but feel as though I am going forward.
Hope everyone has a warm and safe day!

Sar53 Sat 13-Feb-21 08:07:21

Good morning from a bright and sunny Essex by the sea but still freezing cold. It is meant to be warmer from tomorrow.
DH is having his jab on Monday, me on Tuesday. We are at different surgeries, neither of whom are doing them on the premises, so will be having them at different venues. We are both in Tier 5. I wonder if we will get the same vaccine.
Some more decorating today and rugby to watch this afternoon.
I lay awake for nearly 2 hours in the night, all sorts of thoughts whirling around my brain. Luckily I did manage to get back to sleep for a bit.
Enjoy your Saturday, keep warm and stay safe everyone xx
