Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, and its raining here in brackley this morning, as to reply's to MOT , no I cancelled but will book soon .
Its like when the doctor saw me to give me the Oxford jab , I was not a 100% in myself .
Slowly recovering from the hospital ordeal ,and taking one new medication , and getting a routine again .
Small shop later , Like I have said time to recover, which this Lockdown offers the chance for me to feel like myself, and get the fears of a reoccurring out of my mind.
Take Care ,
Mick

Good morning, Mick, I do hope you have a steady recovery , and Hello to everyone.
It's bright on the Cumbrian coast but showers are probably due. Today a little housework and then I hope to feel up to a gentle tidy up in the garden, weather permitting. There's always plenty to do to occupy my mind but I like to be out and about. I daren't drive out into the Lakes to admire the scenery and have a stroll. We have enough covidiots causing problems here, witness the dreadful accident to the Patterdale Mountain Rescue team member.
Hopefully, I will be able to travel south to see the family this summer. Meanwhile, as good a day as possible to all.

Good morning from a mild NE where the sun is just appearing.
Another nothing kind of day, not even a grocery delivery this week.
DH had another letter telling him he must shield until the end of March.
No chance of a lie in this morning, two scam phone calls, messenger message and a road sweeper going up and down under my bedroom window.
Thinking of all who are poorly and those with worries.

Grandmabatty Wed 17-Feb-21 09:18:56

Good morning all. It's a beautiful bright morning in Polmont. The tree across the street is waving to me and the bin has danced a little down the path so it's obviously windy. I had a disturbed night like some others. I don't get upset by these like I used to when working, I just get up a bit later. Yesterday was lovely babysitting. We went for a walk. I didn't take him to the swings as there were other bigger children there. I had forgotten it was a holiday. We toddled about and he had a very earnest baby conversation with a lovely neighbour of mine who was charmed by him. Fish pie for dinner and I have enough for tonight. I'll have to nip to Aldi for bread and milk and butter. Apart from that, nothing on the agenda. Dd wants to borrow my KitchenAid to make dgs birthday cake. He'll be two on Monday. Grandmattie all best wishes for Iris. ? For Georgesgran . Have a good day all.

Good morning all from a damp Northampton, but it is getting brighter. It rained here all day yesterday. Am up early showered and dressed as it is weekly tablet day, so I come down early, take the dratted tablet and then have my shower. So just sitting with a mug of tea and biscuits.

Nothing much on today, just finish off the Sainsbury's order, probably change the bed as well, and put the portions of leftover Bolognese in the freezer. Also put the bins out and clean the cats' litter tray. Then reading/knitting this afternoon.

Hope everyone is taking care and staying safe, especially thinking of those with worries.

Good morning all from a dreary, wet County Durham.

Thinking of little Iris today having her op, also a hug and flowers for Georgesgran.thanks Enjoy your tennis Bella.

Yesterday DH and I had our vaccinations and I must say the whole experience was both stress free and caring. We attended a Nightingale hospital several miles away, so for us it was like a trip out after staying mostly within walking distance for the past few weeks (not even a supermarket shop). As the cemetery where my family are buried is not too far away we were able to collect the Christmas wreaths from the graves too. I was amazed to see how "healthy" they still looked.

Today will be taken at a slow pace as I am beginning to feel waves of tiredness and wondering if it's my imagination or an effect of the AZ.

Knitting has turned into my salvation over the past month and my family will not find themselves short of winter woolies later in the year. It's wonderful rediscovering a skill from the past and I'm finding I'm happily reminiscing times past when my mum would be sitting comfortably ensconced in her knitting chair. Each garment knitted with so much love which maybe wasn't appreciated as such at the time.

Fingers crossed some sun eventually emerges later today and I can begin to plan my Springtime garden.

Have the best day you can everyone.

This afternoon I am going to the funeral of a friend who died at 92; she was an only child and never married so there are no close relatives, so her village friends will be there to say goodbye.

Otherwise life continues to be tedious but easier for us than for many, I know. Just need something to look forward to!

Thinking of Iris and her family, of Georgesgran, Marydoll, Mick and all of our posters in difficulty.

grandMattie Wed 17-Feb-21 08:56:03

? around 11!

grandMattie Wed 17-Feb-21 08:50:39

Just heard that Iris’ operation is around 3011 as she is third on the list.
Thank you for prayers and thoughts. ❤️

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Stilllearning Wed 17-Feb-21 08:49:31

Good morning from a lovely bright S Lanarkshire. No real plans today, Ash Wednesday virtual church and then lots to do in the house, just need to get down to it!
That was good to read Ashcombe about AZ side effects being a bit less after the second jab, I hope it is the case, I too am not back to full energy.
Thinking especially today about Iris and everyone else on here needing support.
I was lifted last night by my granddaughter telling me she loved ‘sharing the joy of reading’ with me, it absolutely made my day.
Best wishes to everyone

Litterpicker Wed 17-Feb-21 08:48:40

Good morning Mick and all from West Sussex. It’s cloudy with more rain expected.

I seem to have made a mess in every room - piles of books, scribbled notes, cuttings, recipes. I must pretend to myself that friends or family are coming to stay to inspire me to tidy up. I operate best in panic mode!

Thinking of Iris, Georgesgran and DH and others with concerns for themselves or loved ones.

Jaxjacky Wed 17-Feb-21 08:47:02

Good morning all from a damp S Coast, grey with heavy drizzle and breezy. Failed to get up early enough to go to the farm shop, again, still, magnana. As I can’t abide clutter no sorting/tidying to do here, when it stops raining...when..I’ll sow some seeds in trays, but it’s an outside job before they come indoors.
DD is struggling over this half term with the DG’s, they’ve run out of local walks that are new and of course nothing is open. GD will be crafting, she’s making an assault course for her hamster. Good luck Iris today, she’ll smash it. Thoughts with Georgesgran and Auntieflo may they find strength each day to power on. And to all struggling, it’s a long haul for us all, some more than others, soon people, soon we’ll be less fettered.
Have a gentle day all ?

amselerin Wed 17-Feb-21 08:46:08

Good morning all from Luneburg. The snow is melting fast. I was surprised that so much green had sprouted underneath.
I try to keep myself occupied in these lock down times. As my dog refused to go out walking in the snow, I have been exercising on my exercise bike in the cellar. I find it rather boring. I am slowly wishing things would change soon. I am missing meeting face to face with friends and sister. But that`s how it is and no vaccination in sight in the near future.
Take care and all my best wishes to everyone who is struggeling or ill. x

Good morning everyone from a very sunny east coast of Fife where I heard torrents of rain throughput the night hope there’s been no flooding .

Good news is I had the Covid vaccine yesterday my fears of a big needle were unfounded and i didn’t feel a thing

I had a McDonald’s chicken burger and chips for brunch it was delicious.

I don’t have any side effects from the vaccine in fact I had a good sleep nail 5.45am . My gp came to the house herself I’ll never say a bad word about her ever again she was so reassuring. I’ve booked an optician appointment for Friday must pick up my hew glasses.

People from the agricultural dept in Fife were going around the doors yesterday looking for anyone with chickens as there has been an outbreak of bird flu many birds have had to be culled poor things.

Have a good day everyone be kind and generous to those who need extra hugs. [flowers ]

Greyduster Wed 17-Feb-21 08:37:23

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a soggy South Yorkshire. It’s cooler too. We didn’t get over to the butchers yesterday because the locksmith came to put a new lock on the garage door, so we’ll go today. Then we were hoping to spend some time in the garden; my roses haven’t been pruned yet, but it doesn’t look likely. Sheep it sounds like you’re gearing up to have your hands full any minute! Hope it goes well with all your ladies! If you need any help knitting the bootees let me know?!
Have the best day you can folks.

Sar53 Wed 17-Feb-21 08:34:57

Good morning from a grey Essex by the sea.
I had the AZ jab yesterday morning and was fine til about 5'sh, then the side effects hit me. I ached all over, couldn't stop shivering then I was burning up. I took some paracetamol and feel a little better this morning. DH has had no effect from the same vaccine at all.
DD2 managed to get a prescription for Antibiotics sent by her Consultant in London. Hopefully they will get rid of the infection. She has to go and see him next Wednesday.
My thoughts are with Iris and GM today, a plucky little girl?.
I have no plans to do anything today except rest and feel better.
Enjoy your Wednesday and stay safe everyone xx

Alygran Wed 17-Feb-21 08:33:28

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s dull and grey today.
I had a lovely muddy walk at the arboretum yesterday. The snowdrops have survived the icy conditions and are beautiful. I came across this interesting tree too. The lakes were still frozen.
I hope all goes well for Iris and thoughts too for Georgesgran and her DH.
Hope everyone has a good day. Stay safe.

Beauregard Wed 17-Feb-21 08:17:18

Good morning all. Heavy rain has stopped while I've been reading the previous posts and now it's brightening up here in my part of Derbyshire.

It's DH's vaccination today so I've got to take him for his appointment which has been precision planned for just after popmaster this morning. I'll drop him off and call at a couple of shops whilst he's in there. I was surprised yesterday to receive a text inviting me to book in for mine. I'm not at risk in any way so it seems that our area must be doing really well and are now on to vaccinating the under 65's, group 7. I've booked in for Thursday next week.

Hope everything goes well for Iris today.
300 lambs is a huge number Sheepandcattle. Good job you've got the cake and biscuits in! I hope it all goes well.

Thinking of Georgesgran and those coping with illness and worry flowers

Have a good Wednesday.

baubles Wed 17-Feb-21 08:10:50

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s a mild 6 degrees with a very rainy looking sky.

Mick do take it easy and try not to worry. The coldest days will soon be behind us, milder weather will make a difference to how you feel when you go out.

Best wishes to little Iris for today.

Shopping delivery today and not a lot else happening. Much as I’m happy about seeing the back of the snow, rainy days mean very mucky dog walks. There’s no pleasing me!grin

Finished my woolly hat yesterday so will carry on with my crochet blanket whilst listening to my book.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day.

Nannagarra Wed 17-Feb-21 08:10:10

Good morning from the Sefton coast where it’s quite mild.
What a brave girl Iris is. Hope all goes well with her op.
Thinking of Georgesgran and Auntieflo.
Have the best day you can everyone. ?

Forsythia Wed 17-Feb-21 08:08:01

Good morning from Surrey where it is grey, wet and windy.
Not much planned today, a few chores then knitting later this afternoon I think. We are having our jabs tomorrow and have been reading up on the aches and pains we may suffer after, but we shall still have the jabs no matter what.
Best wishes to all especially those who are ill, having ops etc.

Gingster Wed 17-Feb-21 08:02:01

Good morning all and it’s mild but grey here in Essex.

After an hour of trying to join a Bridge game with some pals, on Zoom, we eventually cracked it and had an enjoyable couple of hours play. Its amazing how a bit of something different lifts your spirits.

I walked round to DD’s and took her a few things she needed, stood on the doorstep and saw littlest GD and one of the twin boys. The other twin was still asleep. It was gone 11. ?. Teenagers! Lovely to see them, although GD was shy with me. They looked happy enough but cant wait to get back to school.

Good luck for little ‘Iris’. ?.

It’s strange how the different vaccines can cause varying reactions. AZ seems to leave a headache , aches and tiredness and Pfizer leaves a heavy achey arm.

Sheep hope all the lambing goes well. All those babies! I watched the Ben Fogel programme last night with The Yorkshire Owen farming family. So interesting!

Have a gentle day, all ?

Marydoll Wed 17-Feb-21 07:55:46

Good morning all, from a mild Glasgow, where it is 7 °C.
Mick I'm really surprised to hear you haven't been asked to shield in the light of the new evidence of a correlation between age and diabetes, especially after your recent stay in hospital.
You really need to be even more careful, since you are out and about maskless and haven't yet been vaccinated. The latest research from Oxford University has only highlighted how vulnerable you are.

I can fully understand your fears about a reccurrence of your heart episode. I was contacted two days after I left hospital by the cardiac rehabilitation team and found that talking to the them helped to deal with my feelings. If you haven't heard anything, you should speak to your GP. Most of mine was done remotely by video conferencing during lockdown, so need to even go out. I think you would benefit from talking to someone about your fears.

I had a lovely day yesterday. Firstly, an ex colleague, who was visiting the Ebay queen, came to the door to say hello, my daughter in law arrived for a surprise visit with Dollie, because I had been so unwell, (indescribable joy) , I had a doorstep chat with one of my best friends and then my sister inlaw arrived with flowers and chocolates, because she was worried about me!
Just like buses, you don't see one for ages, then they all come along at once! ?

I was exhausted, but although it was dinner time, I told DH that dinner was in the oven, so it wouldn't be long. SO WRONG!, I had forgotten to put on the oven. ?
Once cooked the meatballs were tasteless. I put it down to the fact that I seem to have lost my sense of taste, since having the vaccine. That was, until I thought about it and realised, I had missed out the onions and seasoning! ?
Don't tell DH!! ?
Let's hope today's fish pie for Ash Wednesday is a tad more palatable.

Wishing Iris all the best for her op and thinking of Georgesgran, her husband and family and the difficult road ahead.
Have a good day folks.

Sparklefizz Wed 17-Feb-21 07:53:34

Good morning Mick and everyone from a mild and wet South Glos.

Best wishes for Iris' op this morning, and to you granMattie.

I hope the antibiotics begin working their magic today NanKate.

My friend in Athens says they are paralysed by an extremely heavy snowfall. I hope we have seen the last of the snow here in the West Country now that there are signs of Spring in my garden.

Special thoughts to all who are struggling. Hope everyone sees some sunshine today. x sunshine
