Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, and its raining here in brackley this morning, as to reply's to MOT , no I cancelled but will book soon .
Its like when the doctor saw me to give me the Oxford jab , I was not a 100% in myself .
Slowly recovering from the hospital ordeal ,and taking one new medication , and getting a routine again .
Small shop later , Like I have said time to recover, which this Lockdown offers the chance for me to feel like myself, and get the fears of a reoccurring out of my mind.
Take Care ,
Mick

Urmstongran

P.s. I forgot - it was sweet of you to explain your marital arrangements yesterday Ashcombe after my nosiness. Hopefully you will be meeting your husband this spring time.

P.p.s. Welcome to you Forsythia. I understand that property can be expensive in leafy Surrey. Do tell us how much your home is worth. It’s good to know the really important details about any newbies. Sure you’ll appreciate my asking.

????‼️

Thank you UrmstonGran for your welcome! And, yes, property is very expensive in Surrey these days. Luckily, we bought ours over 30 years ago when things were not as bad! And that is all I’m saying ??

grandMattie Wed 17-Feb-21 12:58:23

Thanks for the irises, garra.
We’re very grateful for all your prayers. Thank you. I’ll keep you updated when I get more information.
PS the knicker queen is now redundant as the cupboard is full. A posting of Lego is more to Iris’ taste these days. ?

Taichinan Wed 17-Feb-21 12:10:27

Good (late) morning to Mick and all posters ahead of me from a bright and breezy Angus coast. I think we should all stop nagging you Mick - provided you promise to get that appointment soon ?. Thank you for popping back in to explain.
Thinking of little Iris and wishing her another speedy recovery - she's one brave little girl who will one day be so glad she had all this done now.
Auntieflo I'm so sorry to hear your brother has Covid ?. It's good to know that outcomes are so much more positive now.
Oh sheep I do love your farmyard tales! The mind is enjoying boggling at the picture of 300 ewes sitting cross-legged knitting bootees while you munch your way through a cupboardful of biscuits ?. What a cheery lady you are, which I'm sure helps you through all the hard toil.
I was amused to note this morning that I am not the only person to use imagined impending visitors to motivate me to tackle the housework - I thought I was probably alone in that! Self-motivator I am not.
DGD1 sent me a video yesterday of her application to Dance college where she hopes to study contemporary dance. I thought it was a brilliantly conceived and choreographed piece and I have everything crossed for her (rather like some ewes I know ?). She so deserves this after the hard times and upheaval she has gone through since losing her Daddy five years ago.
Surprisingly there is nothing new to report from here. I have decamped to the south facing sun porch and left the glorious views of the north facing garden room. From here I can see a rather bedraggled winter garden - brightened by a glorious clump of snowdrops just outside the front door.
Now off I go. Have a pleasant day everyone and may sunshine and warmth rekindle all our mojos
Georgesgran ?. ???

Annaram1 I’ve read it! Just popped back to report I’ve had THE TEXT...vaccination next Wednesday ?

Nannagarra Wed 17-Feb-21 11:46:54

Trying again to post image!

Nannagarra Wed 17-Feb-21 11:44:58

Some irises from my garden for little Iris today.

Annaram1 Wed 17-Feb-21 11:39:33

Hello all from Sidmouth where the sun is trying to make an appearance. I am sorry to hear that many of you have health and family worries. As I am as usual late I don't suppose many will read this. Just to say I had the AZ vaccine abaut 5 days ago and never even felt the needle going in and have not had a single reaction to it. I feel very lucky.
Anyway all the best to you all and I hope this day brings with it some optimism and that those who are poorly feel better.

Doodle Wed 17-Feb-21 11:22:19

Wishing Iris all the best. Brave little girl

marydoll lovely visit from your DGD. Sorry you’ve been poorly again x

polomint Wed 17-Feb-21 11:18:48

Good morning from central Lanarkshire. A bright day. Watched the ash Wednesday service and now on my first coffee of the day
Take care everyone and have a pleasant day

GrannyOwl5 Wed 17-Feb-21 11:11:03

Good morning everyone from the north Kent coast where we have just returned from our stomp along the seafront. Bit windy and rainy but nothing to stop us going out. Not many people about so it was pleasant being out and about.

Treated myself to an online delivery of tulips; enough for three bowls so they are scattered around the house bringing a welcome bit of colour.

Hoping to get out in the garden to do some pruning but it is still raining so things will have to wait for the better weather forecast for the weekend. DH has a fondness for pruning - more like hacking bits off. I had a wisteria for several years which didn’t have one flower on it which was a puzzle until I came home unexpectedly one spring day from playing golf to discover him cutting off the tendrils carrying the flower heads. He said he had done the same every year as it looked untidy. ?.

Best wishes to brave little Iris and ?to all going through tough days.

Have a good Wednesday. Stay safe

Gwenisgreat1 Wed 17-Feb-21 11:02:57

Good Morning all from sunny Harrogate. Good to hear you are in control Mick
Will say a prayer for little Iris, grandMattie
DH is walking the dog with DD1 and GD so I have a little peace write this.
DH has requested a jam roly poly pudding today - have never made one so will check my ingredients, think I've got enough.
Think it's time I put the kettle on and made some coffee, usually have it with DH while I'm reading GN.
Hope those who are ill feel better than they did, those with problems have the problems evaporate and altogether, have a good day!

Mapleleaf Wed 17-Feb-21 11:00:55

Good morning from a brightening South Yorkshire.
We'd had rain but it's now cleared and the sun is trying to shine. A little cooler today, but still positively balmy compared to last week ?.

You are wise to take things slowly, Mick. It takes longer than you might imagine to recover from a spell in hospital, plus it has been so bitterly cold after you came out. I'm sure you will be able to have your MOT and vaccine in a few weeks.

I think this third lockdown has been especially hard for us because it has been during the coldest and shortest daylight days, meaning it's been difficult to even venture out for a short walk. Already, though, the daylight hours are lengthening, there are signs of spring and more people are being vaccinated, so there's a slightly stronger chink of light in that tunnel than we've seen for a very long time.

Thinking of your little GD grandMattie.

Hope the lambing goes well once it starts sheepandcattle - a very busy time ahead for you.

Lovely to get so many doorstep visitors throughout the day yesterday, Marydoll. It must have cheered you up no end.

? to you all.

Take care.

Blossoming Wed 17-Feb-21 11:00:38

Good morning all. Mr. B and I had a wonderful day yesterday and it looks as though we’re getting more sunshine today. Such a difference after all the cold, damp weather.

Sending best wishes to all with medical and other events coming up.

Auntieflo Wed 17-Feb-21 10:59:34

Good morning Mick, Annie, and all. I am all behind like a cow's tail, again, this morning. I got caught up reading the thread a out holiday mishaps, and thinking that we have been lucky.
Just in time to wish Iris, all the best for her op this morning , and also to GrandMattie, we all have a little wobble now and again. {{{hugs}}} to you.
Also thinking about Georgesgran, you are up for a {{{hug}} as well.
Marydoll, how lovely that you had visits from family, especially Dollie. Never mind about the missing onions in the meatballs. (Aldi do some very nice ones, ready made) and the fish pie sounds delicious.
Thank you for the photos of snowdrops and the unusual tree bark Alygran, beautiful.
I like to think that our missing posters are reading this every day, and are virtually with us. We do miss you all.
On Monday I heard that my brother had been taken to hospital with Covid, and is on continual oxygen. My poor sister in law is recovering from a very recent hip replacement, so my thoughts are very much with her at the moment. My niece is doing a sterling job of looking after her own family, working, and stepping in to see that her mum is eating etc.
Our daughters are certainly a blessing to us, especially now.
When your jumper/sweater, is finished BlueSappire, will you post a picture?
I need another something to keep me busy, but I don't think I need any more knittedS. Any ideas please?

Off to sort out my, not very exciting day now, so have a good day one and all.

muse Wed 17-Feb-21 10:40:31

gillgran Wed 17-Feb-21 10:23:16

Good Morning to you all from Cambs., It's brighter now, after a very wet start of the day.

I add my best wishes for your DGD, Iris, grandMattie.

Sounds like you had a busy, enjoyable day yesterday Marydoll, albeit tiring, but worth it.

Warm wishes to Georgesgran & AuntieFlo.

I'm missing EV, dfly, Nfkd & others.?

Take Care Folks

Grandmafrench Wed 17-Feb-21 10:22:56

Good Morning everyone from a wonderfully sunny South of France and from where I shall attempt to spend a small amount of time in my garden today. The birdies are singing from dawn to dusk now and there are now so many around the bird table that I feel I should slow down with the seed supply, to avoid future abortive take-offs or heavy landings!

You’re a very brave girl, Iris. Doubtless your lovely (anxious) Gran will be planning some more hand-made creations to cheer you as you recover. Love and luck coming your way to help you through today.

Annapops, isn’t it good when you can remember scenes from your past with such clarity and happiness. For you to feel enjoyment from something which gave your Mum so much pleasure, and which sets off happy memories, is lovely. Links in the chain of family life and good memories. We certainly need those now!

Don’t worry too much about booties, sheep. Get the beds made and the pillows plumped. Sort out the lighting and some relaxing music. Mums Matter Most, remember. Fingers crossed that all goes well. Can’t think of anything more wonderful than a barn full of lambsies.....except of course a green meadow of frolicking youngsters, jumping over their Mums’ backs and gambolling around in little gangs in the Spring sunshine. Hope you won’t be exhausted and that the biscuit cupboard is a comfort!

I love to hear the funny little comments that creep into morning posts and it’s so nice to hear that in the middle of all that we’ve endured for soooooooo long, hamsters still get custom made assault courses, naughty little German dogs go on strike regarding snowy walks, and some of us (and me) have to pretend that friends are visiting before we’re able to tidy the house. It feels reassuring to know that underneath the awfulness that this pandemic has created in each of our lives, we’re still the same people - all hanging in there and staying sane!

If you’re sad today, feeling low in spirits, worried or just fed up, I hope it’ll pass soon. If you’re unwell, may you feel better and stronger as the hours pass. If you’re having to face the unthinkable, please never feel you’re alone : your virtual, caring, worried chums are here day and night for posts and PM’s. That’s what we do - we genuinely care, and we’re wishing so hard for you. ?.

Make it a good day, everyone, we’re here for each other and you’re not alone. Hugs from me to you. x ?‍♀️

annsixty Wed 17-Feb-21 10:19:05

Another late Good Morning from me.
Nothing to report today, Sainsbury’s order to finish for delivery tomorrow, sausage and mash with cauliflower cheese to prepare for dinner tonight and more importantly thoughts and prayers to send winging on their way to Iris for her op later this morning.

Beechnut Wed 17-Feb-21 10:01:53

I have just seen your pm Urms. It was there four times. I know it’s not your fault so I’ll answer your question here. I don’t feel too bad at the moment thank you. I am preparing that it may get worse in a few days as Ashcombe said so I’ll take it steady.

I had the AstraZeneca Ashcombe.

Urmstongran Wed 17-Feb-21 09:47:15

Urmstongran Wed 17-Feb-21 09:42:44

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry (at present) and mild. We are meeting our daughter in the park - taking coffees - to have small meet & greet with grandchildren on their bikes.

After that it’s my jab at noon. Fancy as you said Beechnut about our birthdays & then jabs being a day apart! I tried to p.m. you last night without success. Problems still it seems.

Best wishes for Iris today granMattie and special thoughts to all with struggles and worries in the difficult times. I think most of us have had enough of all this now. It’s not good for our mental health and well being. Thinking too of you amselerin with no signs yet of a vaccination rollout of any great shakes in Europe. Friends in Malaga (over 80y) say ‘nada’.

Hope Wednesday is good to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. You too Mick. x

Gelisajams Wed 17-Feb-21 09:38:58

Grammaretto Wed 17-Feb-21 09:32:15

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it is a positively balmy 6°C. Spring is in the air.
The DGC are going back to school/nursery next week which is a relief for them and their parents. They are very rural and see nobody except the postie.
5yr old DGD wrote in her news that they were having qangaix for tea so we, family members, sent photos of our pancakes. Not quite the same thing as being together but better than nothing.

Shh Ashcombe I had the Pfizer vaccine with no ill effects !

I enjoy my knitting Annapops though I miss the yarn group when we met up each week for a really good blether.
I'll be thinking of Iris today grandMattie such a brave wee soul.
Georgesgran, Auntieflo and others who need our prayers and wishes.
