You've been busy all morning and now you are really hungry and ready to have lunch........what is your quick, go -to choice?
This just happened to me and what did I choose? A cheddar cheese and pickle sandwich (pickle has to be Branston!!) and it tastes best on white bread. smile

Toasted sourdough and mashed avocado.
Banana mashed here too but no sugar.

Cheese toastie with a big pile of plain crisps on the side.?

My quickest go-to lunch, especially in the warmer months, is muesli.

Yes, I know that is a strange thing to have for lunch -my eldest dgd told me that in no uncertain terms when she was about three years old. Apparently, smoked salmon (and/or chorizo) and cream cheese sandwiches are the norm ?

muse I was so tempted by your poached egg meal that I bought some smoked salmon that’s what I had today. mmmm thanks.

Poached egg on sourdough toast + smoked salmon (if there's any lurking in the fridge).

OR

Slice of sourdough with St Endellion Cornish Brie - toasted. No - not worried Hetty58. I don't do it every lunch time.

Ham and tomato sandwich on multigrain bread

I can't eat bread or cheese so it's peanut butter and marmite or perhaps a banana on rice cakes.
Or one of the many packs of microwave rice available now with some peas or tofu.
Or some reheated supper if DH didn't eat it all!

I'm a mature cheddar cheese fan - with tomato or better still with onion in Brown bread!! Normally if Im hungry, it means I'm bored?

Shinamae Sat 20-Feb-21 10:45:12

Vintage cheddar cheese and water biscuits

Froglady Sat 20-Feb-21 10:41:20

Toast and butter for me.

Rosie51 Sat 20-Feb-21 10:39:10

DanniRae I'm like you just slice the banana, preferably lengthways. Love to add some walnuts or pecan nuts too, yummy!

Mac&Cheese cold from the tin standing up in the kitchen!

mumofmadboys Sat 20-Feb-21 10:01:28

I love cheese and banana on toast. Lightly grill cheese on toast and add thin slices of banana grill again. Delish!

Shropshirelass Sat 20-Feb-21 09:38:30

Cheese, black olives, pecan nuts and maybe a gherkin or pickled egg.

DanniRae Sat 20-Feb-21 09:34:17

Just out of interest how do people make their banana sandwiches? I just slice the bananas and pile them on the bread - but my darling mum used to mash the banana and add sugar. It made the filling a bit too sweet and slimy - sorry mum!

Cheddar cheese and Tesco’s finest red onion chutney on whole meal bread, yummy

tidyskatemum Fri 19-Feb-21 18:27:00

A bit of what you fancy does you good Hetty58 I love cheese on toast with marmite or a cheese and tomato toastie. Clogged arteries be damned!

Rosie51 Fri 19-Feb-21 18:25:47

Missfoodlove love black bomber cheese ?

timetogo2016 Fri 19-Feb-21 18:23:23

Banana sandwich for me.

Hetty58 Fri 19-Feb-21 18:15:29

Lots of cheese fans here - not worried by saturated fat and salt intake? (pass the hbp pills!)

Missfoodlove Fri 19-Feb-21 18:15:06

Homemade bread whole meal of sourdough with a spread of homemade chutney and a slab of black bomber cheese ?

Nonogran Fri 19-Feb-21 18:12:36

Pilchards or Sardines on seeded wholewheat toast with a splash of malt vinegar & black pepper. Good for your heart.

Hetty58 Fri 19-Feb-21 18:11:22

I always have a choice of cooked food in the fridge, so I can warm something up while I make a coffee. As I have toast for breakfast, I try to avoid (more) bread at lunchtime.

Today, cold roasted veg with smoked tofu!

Jaxjacky Fri 19-Feb-21 18:11:09

Crisps, cheese and onion preferably, with salad cream sandwich.

sodapop Fri 19-Feb-21 18:01:33

Homemade soup and crackers for me.
