Whose poster did you have on your bedroom wall?
1966 (aged 15), mine was The Yardbirds.

Oh yes, David Essex had a house in the next road to me. There were always lots of cars parked there.

Nannytopsy Fri 19-Feb-21 21:21:34

No posters but David Essex and Ralph McTell

Casdon Fri 19-Feb-21 21:20:27

Posters were banned in my Bedroom Too, but I did have quite a bit of my own Artwork up and Declared it 'Homework' from my A Level Art Class. Quite a bit of it was inspired by David Bowie or Pink Floyd, Outerspace, Volcanoes and Glaziers. My main Heart throb was a real life one who I adored, and would have Married in a Heartbeat if Circumstances had have been right, he believed that I was too young and needed to spread my wings further before settling down, so I married someone else, but it did not last.
Meanwhile, my Heart Throb was tragically killed in a Road Accident, aged just 26.
I still feel a bond with him even today, and after 34 years with my DH2, who's own DS from his first Marriage shares the same Christian names as my Heart Throb from my younger years had.

Oh, I’d forgotten The Yardbirds. Keith Relf. But my true love was Billy Fury.

Dragonella Fri 19-Feb-21 20:51:34

Marilyn Monroe on a pink background, and the free poster from Wings' album, Venus and Mars.

Hetty58 Fri 19-Feb-21 20:49:21

Same as Grandma70s, no posters - or interest. I read a lot of science fiction at that age.

JoyBloggs Fri 19-Feb-21 20:45:29

I didn't have any posters on my wall. However, at school we had those old wooden desks with lids that opened. We all had pictures of our heart-throbs sellotaped to the inside of the lid so we could open the lids during boring lessons and gaze at them longingly while pretending to look for a ruler, pencil sharpener etc.

Sorry, OP, I am not prepared to divulge the identity of my pop singer, the family cannot believe it! And neither can I for that matter blush

BBbevan Fri 19-Feb-21 20:41:36

Only allowed one. Gil Favor from Rawhide.

Bridie22 Fri 19-Feb-21 20:38:55

Walker brothers and Rolling Stones.

Erica23 Fri 19-Feb-21 20:37:12

I wasn’t allowed posters on my wall but if I could have had one it would have been David Cassidy.

Marc Bolan is another beautiful man.
I was very in love with him when I was younger than teenaged.

grandma60 Fri 19-Feb-21 20:34:59

Steve Marriott, Mick Jagger and The Walker Brothers

Ellianne Fri 19-Feb-21 20:34:25

This is embarrassing. Marc Bolan.

simtib Fri 19-Feb-21 20:33:58

Aubrey Beardsley - The Peacock Skirt

But that is probably not the sort of poster you were asking about. It was a huge poster given to me by my brother.

NotAGran55 Fri 19-Feb-21 20:33:18

My bedroom was covered in pictures cut out of Melody Maker and NME . All different sizes like a jig-saw puzzle with no gaps . I devoured both publications and couldn’t wait for the new one each week, particularly if I had been to a gig the week before and there was a review.

GagaJo Fri 19-Feb-21 20:30:57

Oooo yes, Adam Ant. Lovely pink lipgloss.

janeainsworth Fri 19-Feb-21 20:30:05
