Megan and Harry again!

Can someone please enlighten me in letting me know what was wrong in Harry and meghan saying "service is universal"? Surely it is. We also like to help each other and provide a service to each other when we can, that's what I'd like to believe anyway. Isn't this what they meant? There's seems to be a lot of H & M bashing again over this, however, it's all gone quiet over Prince Andrew's alleged sexual relationship with an underage girl. Am I missing something?

The link is in reference to The Duchess of Kent.?

Can someone explain why it's considered appropriate to demand that another poster provides proof for their opinion or comment?

If I suspect someone is peddling 'fake news' I go off and find the evidence that either they are, or I'm wrong.

If they are, I post the evidence as the challenge to their statement. If I want the work of an argument, I do the lifting. I don't expect the other person to carry the burden of my doubt.

Isn't that how civilised debate is supposed to work?

Thank you Sarah48

Have fun, NellG and Anniebach

Anniebach Sat 27-Feb-21 21:02:11

Thank you NellG ,

and I met her several times relating to
The Samaritans, and no not because I needed their support

Anniebach Sat 27-Feb-21 20:59:35

Sarah48 it’s choice surely, we believe or we do not believe.

NellG Sat 27-Feb-21 20:59:31

Ten seconds on this thing they call Google...

www.samaritans.org/news/her-royal-highness-duchess-kent-becomes-samaritans-ambassador/

Pretty sure Annie knows how to use it too!

I don’t know anything about Netflix, , but from what I have just read it sounds like a load of B - - - - -s.

Anniebach Sat 27-Feb-21 20:54:04

Bridgeit surely everyone knows Netflix isn’t a charity ,

Sarah48 Sat 27-Feb-21 20:53:59

Netflix isn’t a charity. I didn’t say anything about Netflix. I said I know 100% that Meghan is doing charity work in LA. Do I have to have proof of that, or should you just beli3ve me?

Bridgeit Sat 27-Feb-21 20:50:45

What do you mean by that please Annibach, are you the only one that knows , ( and now us) or is it common knowledge, the press obviously are not interested, not a peep from them,.
They just like printing S- -t .

Anniebach Sat 27-Feb-21 20:46:21

Netflix isn’t a charity

Sarah48 Sat 27-Feb-21 20:46:17

There seem to be such double standards - wholesale criticism of some and wholesale condemnation of others - mainly based on newspaper and magazine gossip

Sarah48 Sat 27-Feb-21 20:44:30

I could say I know that Meghan is doing charity work in LA, but no-one knows about it. but I’d have to say HOW I knew that?

^Katherine worked on the phone lines for the Samaritans, delivered meals on wheels, never once did this get in the papers or where there were cameras^

How on earth do you know this then Anniebach?

Maybe Also that was in the days before there was generally so much “publicity” and “media” coverage of any famous people. I understand that sometimes it is considered a good idea in order to give the charitable organisation more publicity ? Just a thought, not a defence of the Sussexes.

Sarah48 Sat 27-Feb-21 20:42:53

But how? You can’t just make random statements

Anniebach Sat 27-Feb-21 20:41:40

Because I 100% know Sarah48

Well it should give rise to a long, interesting thread if it manages to stay up! It’ll probably be more entertaining than the actual interview with Oprah.

Lucca Sat 27-Feb-21 20:33:18

“ At the time of the South Africa tour, when ‘Meg’ was being interviewed by Tom Bradby, I remember her referring to ‘H’. (Harry).

Tom queried this, and with a little smile, ‘Meg’ confirmed that was what she calls him. ”

Well it does happen ! I have a Harry as it goes, and have often called him H.

NellG Sat 27-Feb-21 20:18:08

And we've still got the Oprah interview to look forward too Nell.

That's got to be good for a 1000 posts surely? ?

tickingbird there are a few whiffy bits of bait lying around, but pretty much everyone has avoided crossing the line, despite temptation!

Bottom line is everybody loves these threads, some just show their knickers more when they keep coming back to deny it! Like...we heard you the first fourteen times you tutted within 'ear shot'.

It's fascinatingly predictable, and much as I've enjoyed the content of individual posts the overall pattern of outrage vs interest is quite compelling stuff.

'Fortunately' H&M will no doubt give rise to another thread after this one, they are the gift that keeps on giving!

MrsPickle Sat 27-Feb-21 19:58:32

I don't give a flying monkey about what they do. They might have 'sold out' but it doesn't affect the price of bread and jam as they say.
I'm sure they'll have a gilded future amonst gilded people, but maybe down the line, there may be regrets

tickingbird Sat 27-Feb-21 19:53:21

I’m surprised it’s still here. Normally they get deleted which is the ultimate goal of certain posters. I rather like it when I see an H & M thread as I know there’ll be the usual names trying to put a stop to it. I find it entertaining too Trisher.
