Yesterday , I placed a chilled meat order with Parley Box , just to try out there selection.
I am hoping today later to have confirmation of when it is due.

later .
Take care,

Morning from S Lanarkshire which has reverted to normal, grey and windy! Never mind, the last two days have been lovely and that gave us a nice break. A friend phoned when I was out walking yesterday and when we finished our chat I realised I had talked all the way uphill for a considerable distance so must be reasonably fit, which cheered me up.
Our local U3A is having a zoom ‘humour’ meeting this morning with a guest speaker, a retired head teacher who is supposed to be very amusing, so I’m looking forward to that and had best start getting my top half ready.
Kind thoughts to everyone x

Good morning from a sunny north Surrey, very welcome after yesterday’s miserable weather.
Yesterday was an anxious day with parents and the dog. Mum now on antibiotics for UTI, she looked and felt pretty ropey. Dad has an ongoing itch which is driving him bonkers and not sleeping well. They are 87 and 92, married 66 years and are symbiotic in their relationship, it is sad to see them so miserable.
Freddie our dog had usual walk and then just not right, quiet and listless, got him to vet and was kept in until the evening. Bloods all normal, he is home with eye drops for an ulcer and charcoal to mix with his food. He is better but still not his old self. Hoping he will perk up as the day goes on.
Today will be spent watching him like a hawk and generally mooching/moping around the house.
Wishing all a good day. At least we can all start pencilling in plans for the summer

Good morning Mick, morning all from wet and windy South Lanarkshire.

It’s a far different day here today stilllearning but one of these days we will be able to have a mini meet-up when you come over to see your DD.

Your curtains look professionally made Scentia, they will hang beautifully.

Beautiful photo of the Galway Girl sheep, I hope your day goes well.

My children used to say that sheep must have sticky feet to be able to walk on the hills and not fall off, the photo I took yesterday reminded me of that.

Thanks for all the anniversary wishes yesterday, we’ve promise ourselves a lovely lunch out next year if we’re spared, as my mother would have said.

Dental hygienist for me later then I’ll do the online shop for tomorrow’s delivery.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day.

Lovely start to the day here in Norwich! It’s so quiet! Just the odd dogwalker!! And has been since Christmas due to schools being closed. We will certainly notice the difference from 8 March when they reopen! Road back to “normality” seem to be well planned but it’s really up to each and every one of us to do our bit! We have done so well so far, just can’t believe that’s it’s been almost a year!
We have a funeral to attend today, I’ve not been to a lockdown one before, it will be different I know, and it being zoomed to family in Canada and New Zealand also. I wonder if that facility will be continued after lockdown ends?
Have a good day everyone, enjoy the springlike weather whilst it lasts and take care of yourself!!

Jaxjacky please tell me you will be cheering the Saints on this evening ? We will and they will need all the help they can get?

GrannyGravy13 Tue 23-Feb-21 08:27:45

Good morning Mick and all.

We are on Granny duty today, so homeschooling this morning and hopefully the park this afternoon if the sun stays out.

Will read the thread when the little one has his nap later this morning.

Keep safe and well folks ?

A quick good morning from a dry and mild Wiltshire. Official start date for lambing today so ready, steady go!
I came down to the lambing shed at 4.30 am this morning (yawn) to find a pair of twins and 2 mums quite convinced that they were theirs! This often happens when maternal hormones are aplenty and the non-mum sees another ewe lambing and decides that they must be her lambs. This led to a bit of a scuffle getting the correct ewe (Ivy) out of the lambing pen with her lambs whilst keeping Bev ( the non-mum) back. Boy did Bev protest at me taking ‘her’ lambs away! The language she was calling at me would have made a sailor blush! I would expect Bev to lamb in the next 24 hours, by which time I’ll sure she’ll have forgiven me!
I then had a big single lamb from Sarah Carson (named after an Irish descendant who came over from Ireland during the potato famine apparently, according to my father who is tracing the family tree) She’s a Galway sheep, one of 8 that I bought last summer. She’s a first time mum and needed a bit of help lambing it, but she LOVES her new baby - photo attached, I hope.
Got to get back to the woollies now - will read the thread over a cup of coffee later so wishing you all a great day.

Good morning from a slightly chillier, brightening S Hants. Hugs with family on the horizon! Never mind holidays or haircuts, I need a hug with our family ? NanKate fingers crossed for nutritionist. Marydoll tree pruning survived then; safe trip to hospital. I must take my car out for a run, brand new in September, less than 500 miles on the clock! I had a letter yesterday for an increase in my state pension that I haven’t got yet, it’s imminent. Not much on, as usual today, definitely a walk, an easy dinner as football on 6pm.
Hope sheep isn’t madly busy, steady deliveries in maternity. Thoughts with Auntieflo, Georgesgran others with hurts in mind and body.
Have a gentle day all.

Yes Kitty. GNHQ say they've fixed the PMs but at the expense of the mobile site.
So we mustn't worry if some posters are missing today.

YGood morning all from a very dark and windy start to the day on the east coast of Fife.

Yesterday was a gorgeous sunny afternoon I’m beginning to think of normality in the future can’t wait to see if local travel restrictions can be lifted today my dear gs who went back to school yesterday got up and went downstairs sooo excited to be returning back to school only to find out it was just 8am poor thing had to wait a bit longer before he could get going

We had a busy morning yesterday with a trip to our local beach where we had chicken strips from McDonald’s with chips for. lunch. Sitting in the warm car of course it’s not yet warm enough for me to sit out. Soon though.

Today’s news update is around 2.20 can’t wait I’m so excited I expect Scotland to be going into tiers. Unfortunately the local hospital has a high outbreak of Covid. My poor neuro phtsio who also works there has also tested positive he’s at home thankfully with little symptoms I’m glad I recently stopped him coming to the house for safety’s sake.

I think we’ll be having a rest day today. My dh who’s been head cook and bottle washer these past couple of days and more needs a rest.

Have a good day everyone be kind to yourselves have a wee treat of sorts.smile

Beechnut Tue 23-Feb-21 08:07:14

I had the same email from PB Urms.

Gingster Tue 23-Feb-21 08:06:51

Good morning all from a promising looking day, weatherwise, here in Essex.

Promising but tentative progress from Boris. We still can’t travel to our cottage 80 miles away. My SIL will have a woodland funeral near there. Will we be able to travel to say goodbye to her?

I feel like you Urms - a little nervous of freedom. I too like some aspects of Lockdown. Can’t wait to have family altogether again, though!

DD and littlest GD popped by yesterday with a bunch of daffs and cup cakes that she had made. So sweet but sad to keep them on the doorstep. What must the children make of it all.

Nankate glad you’re feeling better. Hopefully the nutritionist will keep you in the right track ?

Little pooch is off to the groomers at 9: she will come out looking and smelling beautiful. Wish I could have the same treatment. ?

Zoom bridge lesson was hard to follow yesterday. It’s different when you are actually playing, but boy did my brain hurt after 2 hours concentration. ?

Hope you all see a bit of ? today.

Scentia Tue 23-Feb-21 08:05:34

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is mild.
Jab today ??
Had a call from DFiL home to say they have been closed down and we have two months to find him somewhere to live, poor man?

Made the curtains last night, I am very pleased with myself!

Thanks Marydoll

Good morning from a still slighlty fresh Lueneburg- Sunshine is promised for later. Last week one night was -16 degrees and the next day it was 14 degrees plus.
My gardener (a young man from the next village) came to do some painting in my house on Sunday. First he looked around the garden and saws that the earth by the little stream next to the forest had been turned over. So wondering who had done this he checked the small forest. In the forest a group of wild boar is living at the moment. Good thing I have got a fence. Jan fixed the hole in the fence. I was lucky, because the wild boars can churn over the hole lawn in a few hours. I am just pleased that Waldi (my dog) can`t hear and see so much any more. He might have been tempted to chase the boars otherwise.
So, there was a bit of exitement in my otherwise (at the moment) very boring life.
You must all be upbeat about the relaxation in connection with the virus. Here not many have been vaccinated, but us elderly get free masks (got to be thankful for what we get).
Wishing all of you a happy day and no worries.
sheepandcattle good luck with all the new arrivals.

Keep well.

Oopsadaisy1 Tue 23-Feb-21 08:02:45

Good morning everyone from a very blustery but, so far, sunny Oxfordshire.
Another day of not doing much, we are all self isolating but it all seems like Groundhog Day.
Had another nice dream about my late MIL last night, it seems I’m the only one that has them , which is odd as she rarely spoke to me when she was alive.
Anyway, I might be able to sort the garden out later.
Have a good day everyone, best wishes to all who aren’t so chipper today.

Marydoll Tue 23-Feb-21 08:02:04

PS.

The mobile site on GN is down, but if you switch to desktop site, you should be able to navigate the site and send PMs, without any problems.

Good morning all from a wet and wild Glasgow. I had a sleepless night, my hip was so painful. However, I believe the orthopaedic waiting list here is now two years, due to Covid. I shall have to just stop moaning!!

We have a problem, as we were expecting electricians today, but as it involves going up a very high ladder in strong winds, I don't see it happening.

I have a unexpected, early hospital appointment first thing. Late yesterday afternoon, I got a phone call asking if I could come and get bloods done ASAP! Rather than go to the large hospital, I usually go to in Glasgow, the bone people have kindly organised it in our local hospital, fifteen minutes away, to save me travelling. An act of kindess, which takes the pressure off us.
I haven't been out for a year, then three hospital appointments in the space of two weeks!
I suspect it is to check my VitD levels, which are always abnormally low. My Alendronic acid infusion was cancelled in August , so hopefully once my levels are OK, I will be getting it.
Things seem to be moving again, treatment wise. A hopeful sign indeed for all of us.

Yesterday afternoon, I took my car a run round the block to boost the battery. I persuaded DH to come with me to our local park ten minutes, away for a walk, hence the gowping hip. It took half an hour to get the mud of my boots! However it was worth it, just to be out and about again.
Looking at the view, you wouldn't believe that fifteen minutes away on the motorway is Glasgow city centre.

Kate, glad to hear you are feeling a bit better, but take it easy.

I'd better go and get organised. DH of course, isn't coping with this last minute break in our routine. He needs to know at least a year in advance about hospital appointments. wink
As usual, I have a cunning plan.
Parking at the hospital will be horrendous and as he won't be able to come in anyway, I'm sending him to the bakers nearby to purchase a strawberry Danish for me. If he is a good boy, he can have a rhubarb tart. That should keep him out of mischief! grin.

Thinking of Auntieflo, Mr & MRs Georgesgran and all who need our support.
Have the best day you can, folks.

ginny Tue 23-Feb-21 07:56:16

Good Morning. Things seem to have gone hobble gobble on here. I’ve been all the way round the houses trying to post.
Dry but breezy here in N. Bucks hope the sun comes out for a while.
This morning is the first day for a while that I have felt more ‘normal’ when I woke. I might even feel like putting the newly decorated spare bedroom back to rights.
Will have a walk too as I am trying to increase my step count a little each day.
Thoughts are with all who are troubled, ill or sad. I hope you all find a ?today.

ginny Tue 23-Feb-21 07:50:10

Testing

NanKate Tue 23-Feb-21 07:38:10

Morning Mick and All.

Just emerging from the Sick Room again after two weeks plus of diverticulitis ? Been recommended a Nutritionist who should be able to sort out the problem ?

The weather is cloudy and bright here in South Bucks and we are in for a few days of Spring like weather, excellent. ?

Urmstongran Tue 23-Feb-21 07:35:16

Good morning everyone from South Manchester where it’s dry and seems mild enough. I think a walk with Himself today would be good. We are both trying to lose some of our lockdown lard. I’ve been eating sweet stuff since I kicked the wine habit now I need to address it.

I got an email yesterday Mick from Parsley Box asking if I’d like to consider becoming a shareholder? I’ve registered as being ‘interested’ but I don’t know yet what this entails. Anyone else on here got the same?

Hope Tuesday is good to us all. Great news from Boris. Why do I feel ever so slightly nervous about freedom? Strangely, it seems there are some aspects of this lockdown life that actually suit me .... Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Pittcity Tue 23-Feb-21 07:27:22

Good morning from sunny Colchester.
Yesterday ended up rainy but today's forecast is dry and bright.
A walk to Lidl and continue to sort the many boxes of photos we have accumulated today.

Love to all x

brook2704 Tue 23-Feb-21 07:24:45

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a cold and very breezy strat to the day. Yesterday was lovely though and I really enjoyed a couple of hours tidying up in the garden and listening to the birds singing. I even sat outside well wrapped up with a cuppa. Probably I’ll be out in the garden again today if it doesn’t start raining
Woooo hoooo - some really positive news about the gradual lifting of lockdown restrictions and meeting friends and family soon. Today we’ve got the Scottish announcement so I’m hoping it’s similar and at last we can start making tentative plans for the summer.
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Gagagran Tue 23-Feb-21 07:03:36

Morning all! Feels cooler here on the south coast this morning. 6.9c at 6am but sunshine is forecast later so that will be most welcome after all the rain and cloud we have had of late.

The car is going in for a service and MOT this morning. We have done so little mileage this past 12 months that it hardly seems worth it but needs must. We paid for 5 years servicing when we bought the car and this is the last of those 5. From next year we can use a local garage instead of having to trail to the main dealers where we bought it.

I thought last night's road map out of covid restrictions was well reasoned. I find Prof. Chris Whitty so calm and clear and I imagine he is a very kind man in his dealings with his patients. I am glad Boris is taking his and Patrick Vallance's advice. I am always reassured that they both know what they are talking about.

Hoping for as good a day as possible for us all. sunshine
