Good Morning Everyone,
Its still dark , here in Brackley this morning, but remains and windy this morning .
Still awaiting confirmation as to my parsley box chilled meat pack , hopping to check emails later .
A small shop today ,maybe before I watch the cycling on TV , which is live , mind you looks like most TV channels are scrapping the barrel as regards to what do we show as no new programmes being made .
Take Care,
Mick

Another good morning from S Lanarkshire. Don’t feel any real change in mood after our ‘road map’, any difference still feels far away, although in fairness that’s understandable. I think the press whip up expectations that perhaps politicians feel the need to live up to and whatever you feel about our dear leader, she clearly doesn’t!
Plan for today is a rummage through the freezer and plan meals to use everything up. I’ve found recently that meals have become very ad hoc affairs so time to give myself a shake.
?Bellasnana and good wishes to everyone, hope all is well with Kalu x

Sar53, 5'8" - goodness! I hope she doesn't end up like me at 5'10" tall but am now "the short, fat one" of the family - they are gigantic! Has advantages though, as I can be envelopped in hugs and feel tiney and delicate...

Hello everyone from sunny places to grey and blustery ones.
Cornwall is back to its grey wet look this morning. I'm hoping it will blow away so I can get a morning walk with Mya. She's doing great but not quite got the hang of waiting for me in the morning ti open the door !
Forgot to take the recycling up to the collection point yesterday. So a quick dash up there with it. We (8 houses) are all spread out on the lane so to help the refuse collectors we have two places to leave all the rubbish and they can turn with the lorry.

Mick I can recommend the new series of Unforgotten on ITV. They recorded it last year. Hope the delivery arrives.
Bella. Enjoy the walk. MrM wagged his finger at me yesterday as I said I was thinking of driving to one of my fav beaches with Mya. It's 30 min drive. Police have really clamped down on travel.
Dwmxwg. Hope you get your new date for the holiday. We're waiting here too but suspect we will have to move it to end of April 2022. Off to Isles of Scilly.
Ashcombe Serious acting smile
Gagga Glad your DD and others over covid thanks
S&C grin Dumpy Bag ? What a busy delivery night. Hope you get some zzzzzz this afternoon
Sar53. What a beautiful height. Same as me when I was 12. I love being tall but still get angry when people have to comment about it or mock my height.
Urm. Please tell me what Soap Dish is confused I see it mentioned a lot
Harrigran. My peak time for birthdays is Sept to Jan. Last batch of cards (32) were from ZAZZLE when they had an offer on. I can recommend them.
Marydoll Glad to hear the police are out and about. I've put off driving 30 mins for a beach walk with Mya. Well done with the bank - you told him Hope you're feeling better.

Off to the compost bin now. I do hope it's getting a little less boggy down there and I can do the trek without bringing a huge amount of mud back with me.

Hope the sun shines on everyone today. If not outside then in your hearts.

Good morning everyone from a sunny and bright north Kent. Lots of bulbs appearing in the garden and various pots; like you Oopsadaisy1 I am never sure what they are so it’s always a bit of a mystery until they flower!

First load of washing hung out for 2021 yesterday. Got increasingly windy as the morning went on and nearly lost a pillowcase over the fence. Had a wrestling match with king-sized sheets on the line; eventually beat them into submission.

Welcome Shelly60 to Gransnet and this thread. We are a friendly bunch and it is always good to have newbies join us. However, watch out for Urmstongran who will be along shortly to quiz you about your house value something she does to all new posters; apart from this slight obsession she’s very nice ??

Birthday wishes to those celebrating and hope those with illnesses and worries have a better day. I too miss Ellan and hope she is ok.

Have a good day. Stay safe

Jaxjacky Wed 24-Feb-21 10:12:48

Shelly60 welcome, 60 is a mere youngster, this thread is always a gentle start to the day, *Urmstongran will be along soon to ask the value of your house soon...it’s a long running joke!

Good morning Mick, Annie and all.
Another bright day, but windy by the looks of it.
Went into town yesterday to post a parcel to GGS, did a tiny bit of shopping and was exhausted when we got home.
I do so want to get in the garden and potter. I will have a go, but not sure if my back will like it!
Sheepandcattle, I had a lovely vision of all your sheep and lambs lining up as you read the daily register, and ticking them off before they are allowed outside.
???
Yesterday afternoon I had a phone conversation with my sister in law, the first time since my brother died. She sounded better than I imagined, and we had a bit of a laugh. Will be so glad when we are able to really see each other in the flesh.
Another one here missing EV and her crumpets.
Happy birthday to all who are celebrating today. ?
Marydoll, good for you for having a sort out, but hope you haven't tired yourself out. I expect the deconstructed strawberry Danish was tasty after it's tumbled journey home.
Why are banks so dismissive of us with our problems? I thought they were there to help us, not be all snidey, but good that you managed to pay the bills. ?
I will try and phone to make a hair appointment later and maybe give Mr Flo, a trim. He's another man of very little hair, but it does grow exceedingly fast.
I think DH will have to go to our garage later. We can get no sense out of online service booking, it just keeps going in a circle, and emails are not being answered.
Do take care all who are struggling, and have a good day one and all.

hollysteers Wed 24-Feb-21 10:00:36

Good morning Gransnetters from a dull northwest coast. The cat goes to the vet today and they seem to sense somefink is up, so hope it’s hassle free.
I coloured my roots and left it on too long so am looking like a Spaniard, but it doesn’t matter at the moment. Will have my highlights done when allowed.
Will practise a little piano as rusty and a watercolour. Anything to avoid housework.
Armchair travelling with Julie Walters coastal railways last night, nice, but not sure why she turned into an elderly lady. Same with GermaineGreer, who hurtled herself into old age when she turned 40?
Thinking of all with troubles,
Have a nice day.

Grandmabatty Wed 24-Feb-21 09:35:06

*Off! Goodness, you would think I could spell.

Grandmabatty Wed 24-Feb-21 09:33:41

Good morning all. Breezy and damp in Polmont this morning and 11°. Yesterday was a babysitting day and I thoroughly enjoyed it. He is such a sunny wee boy and he loves to make you laugh. I'm very fortunate. I got my 'blue' letter yesterday! The vaccine letters come in a blue envelope. So next Friday I shall have the first Jag at the local college. That, combined with the better weather, makes me feel spring is on its way. I have lots of seeds I was given last year so I can look forward to planting them next month. My dd has a big birthday next week so we have that to look forward to as well, although no party. Today I have no particular plans. I will attempt to scrub marker pen of a couch, courtesy of dgs and red icing from cake of the living room rug, courtesy of same boy. Looking forward to the Crumpet Queen's return.

Morning all from a sunny Hertfordshire, lovely day today, would be good to get out. Have had balance problems for a couple of weeks, but if I concentrate on things in the distance I can walk a bit, I have discovered!

sheepandcattle you should write a book, I love your farming stories. Good wishes to all struggling with their own or loved ones ill health. Nothing special planned for today, though the weather does make me fell I ought to start spring cleaning. Our new sofa was delivered yesterday, and starts all kinds of thoughts about the room looking shabby!

Blossoming Wed 24-Feb-21 09:22:16

Good morning all from a cloudy grey Lancashire. Today will be spent sorting out paperwork and sewing. Have a peaceful day and stay safe.

mamaa Wed 24-Feb-21 09:16:38

Morning all. I too had crumpets for breakfast and whilst doing so my thoughts wandered to EV and hoping that she's doing ok. I miss her lively posts and hope she'll be back soon.
Sending good wishes to all, just keep on keeping on folks x.

GrannySomerset Wed 24-Feb-21 09:14:20

Fine but very windy in North Somerset where I am planning a trip to the tip later. Have to get DH up and sorted out first, by which time I may have lost the urge, but we do have a garage full of bags from the last sort out. We’ll see.

Love the report from the maternity ward and hope things continue to go well - such very hard work and wholly admirable. Lots of birthday greetings around making me wonder what it was about June?

Missing EV and her interesting and enjoyable posts and hoping she reappears. And thinking of others not posting, for whatever reason.

Susan56 Wed 24-Feb-21 09:11:55

Meant to add this.

Gelisajams Wed 24-Feb-21 09:05:11

Good morning from Morecambe Bay where rain is promised. I’m in bed keeping out of the way as I am finally having my new rocking chair delivered. It was ordered back in November. It will match our settee and DH’s chair. I hope!
The instructions from the delivery company are very clear -keep out of the way! Hence my lounging in bed with my iPad. DH has been up moved the car and has just brought me my second cup of tea.
I would have been posting much sooner but I got waylaid with an e mail from a garden nursery offering me irresistible plants. Oh dear my poor bank balance!
I’m loving the tales from the farm and look at the local fields of sheep in a whole new light. I feel quite educated!
Thinking of our missing posters and all with health worries?
Take care, stay safe everyone ?

Susan56 Wed 24-Feb-21 09:03:26

Good morning from Shropshire where it’s blowing a gale?

Thinking of all with illness and struggles.

I too hope to see Ellan posting. You have been missed?

Oopsadaisy1 Wed 24-Feb-21 08:56:34

Good morning from a still blustery but warm Oxfordshire, for the first time (for a long time) I opened the sitting room curtains to be met by warm air! Spring must be on its way.

I moved some pots yesterday, only an inch or so of shoots but with purple buds already forming, this morning they look as though they are dwarf Irises, I’m sure I didn’t buy them, I thought I was planting mixed Spring Bulbs, but I have about 6 pots and all of the shoots looks the same, it’s a mystery that’s for sure, where are all of the tulips and daffs that I thought I had planted?
I will need to go back through my receipts for Garden stuff later, some very big bills to pay today, let’s hope I don’t have the same problems as Marydoll, in the ‘old days’ I would have gone into my local bank, where they all knew me, and paid large bills without a problem, now it seems to be down to luck if it goes through online or not.
Anyway, another day of not much to do, but getting closer to DDs op.she can’t wait, crutches arrived yesterday in anticipation. I’ll be happy when it’s over as we can’t even go into the hospital with her to help carry her bag, anyway, just me being a worry wort.
Have a good day everyone and please stay safe.

Grandmafrench Wed 24-Feb-21 08:56:07

Good Morning everyone from a calm and warm South of France. We still have air coming from the East which makes for unsettled days and me doing a Boris Johnson’s wig impersonation. Damp, sea air = Hairdressing disaster.
At least we have hairdressers! Vaccines still a mystery but good haircuts ?‍♀️ may keep us safe. Or not.

Have so much to do this week, will not linger. Just to say congrats Sheep on the kick off. Glad little Bev has her own twins and please don’t get ridiculously tired and compromise your vim and vigor. Daft thing to say with what’s ahead and so many woolly responsibilities, but you know what I mean....grab those naps where possible. Thinking of you Bella and for some happier days with Buzz very soon. ?
Well done, Gingster - keep on, don’t let him settle for less. He must know you both need to aim for better times.
Everyone sad or unwell or troubled, many hugs and kind thoughts flying across the sea from me. Hopefully you’ll not incur any charges by accepting them. ?

Have a good day, lovely people, and hang on/keep safe.?‍♀️???

GrannyGravy13 Wed 24-Feb-21 08:52:10

Anniebach Wed 24-Feb-21 08:51:55

GrannyGravy13 Wed 24-Feb-21 08:50:50

Happy Birthday to our friends and family celebrating today ??

It’s brightening up outside, bed changing here today and generally pottering.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️

Grammaretto Wed 24-Feb-21 08:49:42

Good morning from the Scottish Borders where it is a cloudy 9°C .
I am going to take my car for its first run since Christmas.
We don't have a target date for the end of lockdown just yet so I'd be grateful if you Sassenachs didn't rub that in grin

I had to do all the phoning for appointments for DH Gingster He never could admit he wasn't well.

You have answered my question already Sheepandcattle I wanted to know if, like human babies, they mainly arrived in the early hours. Well done.

Good news gagagran that your patients are well again. Sar58 isn't it astonishing - and miraculous how an incy wincy baby can grow so tall and vigorous. Little acorns to great oaks and all that.

My garden helper is coming in a few minutes so I had better be ready to set her to work.
Have a good day everyone.

Shelly60 Wed 24-Feb-21 08:49:28

Goodmorning from Liverpool ...
Joined today by default as i was googling Amitriptyline and gransnet popped up so here i am, just need to get to understand my way around and being 60 takes a little longer than it should smile

Alygran Wed 24-Feb-21 08:48:30

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It looks like another grey day but less windy than yesterday.
Charity zoom webinar this morning. It’s a year since we did the first session of this project when group meetings were still allowed. We postponed till things were better, thinking June, September, January but have finally decided to go virtual.
Happy birthday to all those celebrating and hugs for those with struggles and troubles.
Have a good day everyone. Stay safe.

Nannytopsy Wed 24-Feb-21 08:46:47

Good morning Mick and all his followers.
It’s blue skies all the way in Suffolk and breezy. More gardening! I shall strip the bed and get the bed linen on the line too. And MrT needs a haircut too - it doesn’t cover much of his head but grows quickly!

I had my vaccine yesterday! In and out of the surgery in 4 minutes and no side effects! I have a hint of a headache but I often wake like that.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.
