Good Morning Everyone,
Its twilight this morning in Brackley , a little bit of brightness in the sky , but dry and cold outside .
Today, my usual shop , then do my own Fish & Chips , plus await a call from provider as to fixing email .
This weekend sees the start of more cycling on TV , of which I am looking forward to watch .
As it breaks watching continuous repeats on TV.
Take Care,
Mick

Delighted for you Blossoming! It must be such a relief for you.

Nannagarra Fri 05-Mar-21 11:37:48

Thank you so much, Urms. That’s exactly what I was looking for! ??

Good morning from a sunny W Sussex - big fluffy clouds and breezy but better than yesterday’s grey.

Mick good to hear you have some cycling to watch at the weekend.

Yesterday was a day of returning things - clothing bought in two different local supermarkets for DH was marginally tight so had to go up a size. Managed to replace two out of three items and added some towels to basket as I am resolutely putting worn ones in ragbag for recycling. We had a new bathroom fitted in the summer so accessories have to match! A ‘wrong size’ phone battery bought online has been refunded even though I can’t return it due to postal regulations. I didn’t know so have learnt something and will have to be more careful ordering ‘techy ’ stuff.

Fairtrade Fortnight quiz (online) tonight. So many issues for producers of the goods we love like coffee and tea with climate change and the complexities of world trade. Quiz should be fun though smile.

Rejoicing for Blossoming. Hope all goes well with MrGaga.

Thinking of Georgesgran and others suffering bereavement.

A large Good Morning from me, I had a disturbed night so only up for about an hour.
It is dull and chilly here in Stockport, if only I could be out and about that may concern me, as I am not it doesn’t.
Sainsbury’s delivery between 3&4 pm is the days main excitement.
With a brief spell back in the office, about 5 weeks, my GD
who lives with me has been working from home for a year now.
She has taken over the dining room to work in and so, we have heating on all day.
My e-mail from my utilities supplier came this morning informing me my payments are going up by £60 a month to cover the deficit which has built up!
I haven’t spoken to my GD yet as she is working so must ask if she is being recompensed in any way for this.
I will have to start taking in washing as I know the Council tax is going up 3:5 % next month and that is quite modest compared to some boroughs.
We are all paying in some way.
That apart, have the best day you can.
As I was typing this my new Tax code came through the door, my code has gone the “wrong way”, down , which I think means more tax to pay.
I will try to work it out and then may have to take in ironing, my most hated job, as well.

Good morning all from a brightening Angus coast, where the air is so cold. Taking badly to that after that spell if lovely warm sunny days!
Like you Mapleleaf I was wondering whether to post - there are only so many ways to say nothing! But here I am to say I'm thinking about going down to the butcher's (lambs liver!) and fishmongers later. I'm also thinking about moving the furniture round in the garden room - a sure sign that spring is really on its way. I'll let you know tomorrow whether or not thought turns into action ?.
Sending as much comfort as I can to Georgesgran and Merlotgran at this overwhelmingly sad time.
The usual healing thoughts ? to those unwell or suffering. Please all, have a good day. ???

EllanVannin Fri 05-Mar-21 11:21:45

Good Morning All x.
Dull and grey---a bit like how I feel today unfortunately. I'll have to pull myself together.
I think it's down to the situation we're all in as it really brings it home to those here who've suffered losses recently, my mind tends to work overtime especially with them having to cope with things the way they are.

My thoughts to Merlotgran, Georgesgran and Travelsafar xxx flowers
Sending love, best wishes and strength to Gagagran and her DH for today that all goes to plan x.

Thinking also of Dragonfly and our Gilly too x.

Usual fish dinner today so I'll do mashed/ creamed potatoes instead of chips and have parsley sauce with it. That should buck me up.

I'm another who missed out on the extra pension after H died as one part of the claim is for the over 80's so I'll see what happens.

Just received the census to fill in online and also another letter from the Yorkshire BS telling me it will become the Yorkshire BS Agency. Things are changeing. Why can't they stay as they were ? I'm not a fan of change as it is and have always been quite happy just sailing along as things were,--living in the past--grin

Don't be overdoing it today Marydoll, tempting as it is.
The most I'll be doing today is jotting down a list for an Asda delivery next week.

Sending love to our sad grans and also those who feel a bit below par. Take care and stay safe xx Wishing you all a good day.

Good Morning all from sunny, but chilly Harrogate.

Have just returned from taking our little doggy to the vet, they said she was angelic while taking blood for testing!!! We might know this pm if she has a future or not.

I'm so sorry Merlot and Georgesgran - virtual hugs are definitely in order!! flowers; flowers

Have to make up my cereal for the week - that's exciting!! I make it so there is no milk product in it and minimal sugar.

Nothing planned, don't think I'll have time to do any more nothing today. Did a Zoom art club last night will do a video chat with my sisters this evening

Gosh that's a short day isn't it!!

Keep safe everybody, have the best day you can!

Mapleleaf Fri 05-Mar-21 11:01:26

Good morning all,

The sun keeps trying to break through, but there's a lot of grey cloud about and I think it might gain the upper hand. As long as it stays dry so that I can peg out the washing today rather than have to dry it indoors, that will be something.

Another thrilling day lies ahead (not).

Lovely news Blossoming. You must be very relieved to have that good news.

amselerin do post even if it's only to say what your weather is doing. It's always nice to hear from everyone. I debated whether to post today as I seem to be saying the same old, same old thing everyday, but decided a quick hello is ok. ?

Take care all, and ?for all our friends with troubles, worries and bereavement.

Morning all, thoughts with Merlotgran and Georgesgran for your loss.

I'm posting this morning to share positive info which might be useful if some of you have Ocado deliveries. I read on Twitter that Ocado drivers are to begin collecting bags again from the 8th March. I'd better start folding ( origami style) my considerable stash into 'samosas' so they can all be returned in one go...its quite therapeutic! Saw a vid on Youtube on how to do it- quite easy after the first few.

Urms we really enjoyed your SOAP dish- I printed out the recipe and 'Im indoors' made it. ( he cooks, I wash up).
He enjoys liver but I can't stand the texture- think school dinners back in the 70's have a lot to do with my dislike; memories of greasy gravy and shoe leather pieces of gristly meat. I know it wouldn't be like that now but I just can't get past it-stupid isn't it, its a psychological issue but heyho there we are.

Hope all have a good day- I best get back to my 'samosas'! wink grin

hulahoop Fri 05-Mar-21 10:49:33

That is good news blossoming .my thoughts with all who are having really sad times .

Susan56 Fri 05-Mar-21 10:42:21

Brilliant news Blossoming???

Nannytopsy Fri 05-Mar-21 10:25:07

Happy St Pirran’s Day everyone! DH is taking a day off, as they did at his Cornish school!

TopsyIrene06 Fri 05-Mar-21 10:20:42

Blossoming. Great news. Well done

Blossoming Fri 05-Mar-21 10:14:45

Good morning all from a sunny Lancashire. Not much planned for today other than housework and hopefully a walk later. Yesterday’s telephone appointment with my endocrinology consultant brought some really good news.

I had 2 parathyroid tumours removed in May 2019 and been having follow up reviews and blood tests since then. The good news is my kidney function is stable and my calcium levels are normal and my vitamin D is perfect. So they’re discharging me! Blood tests ongoing through GP, added to my regular routine bloods. That’s one clinic crossed off my list and one less thing to worry about.

Have a peaceful day all.

muse Fri 05-Mar-21 09:43:02

Sheep. Two sheep with quintuplets on the news last night.shock

Hope you are getting some zzzzzzz between your deliveries

Urm. Liver - on my next Sainsbug's order. smile. Not had any for years.

grandMattie Fri 05-Mar-21 09:40:02

Urms, can’t bear liver. As children, we’d have to have it minced, raw, with hot liquid/food to keep all the iron it. I used to gag but was made to eat it. Was too frightened of my father and his stick., such a shame

muse Fri 05-Mar-21 09:39:15

Beautiful blue Cornish sky this morning. Very chilly on the very quick walk with Mya an hour ago.
Special thoughts for merlotgran travelsafar and Georgesgran flowers
Legs feel less like lead weights this morning and no sign of dizziness. Horrible day yesterday. MrM says I should have a blood pressure test. I do suffer occasionally with low and passed out once.
Not too much rushing around today planned for day as I need to get on the phone. Booking car in and something else but for the life of me, I can't think what it is at the moment.

Hope all goes well with dentists, doctors, hospitals, vets, garages, home jobs and garden tasks today.

Sainsbugs delivery just arriving. Mya's heard them!. All in stock except a nail file!

LauraNorder Fri 05-Mar-21 09:09:05

Good morning from Anglesey. Blue sky, grey sky, can’t make its mind up but it’s dry.
My thoughts are with Georgesgran, Merlotgran and of course Travelsafar, so very sad for you all.

Urmstongran Fri 05-Mar-21 09:07:38

The text looked a bit small so I’ve just enlarged it.
Might be easier to read.

GrannySomerset Fri 05-Mar-21 09:06:07

Bright sky this morning with the possibility of some sunshine so a better start to the day. Lots of sadness and anxiety on the thread this morning so thank goodness for GC and their enthusiasm for life - could really fancy Susan’s GD’s school lunch!

Tesco calls and am hoping to go on my own. Now DH has had a letter telling him he is vulnerable I have right on my side, but he is so bored by life I think he will want to come for the ride even if it means staying in the car. I have run out of things to suggest that we might do since he can’t walk far and he does need life beyond our house and garden.

Urmstongran Fri 05-Mar-21 09:05:35

Here you go.

Grandmabatty Fri 05-Mar-21 09:03:39

Good morning all. 0° in Polmont and yet again, grey skies. It feels very cold too. Like many of you, I'm particularly thinking of georgesgran and Merlotgran and their sadness just now. Gagagran? for you. I'm sure the op will go well. Marydoll you need some flowers too ?. You're having such a difficult time with your health. It's good that you have a caring and helpful family.
Yesterday disappeared in a flash. I had an unexpected phone call from a friend which was very nice. Then dd gave good news about his job and his love life which was even better. All that is needed is for sil to regain his health after a couple of months of I'll health and to get a job. He was paid off in December because of covid and a downturn in his work. He and dd have put a brave face on, but it is worrying, both the job and health situation. Anyway, today we are having a family zoom escape room game, organised by ds to celebrate my dd's big birthday on Monday past. That will be different and hopefully fun. Until then, I shall potter. Have a good day all.

Urmstongran Fri 05-Mar-21 09:03:16

I do Nannagarra. I’ll post it in a minute. It’s years old but idiot proof (me, not you).

I’m in and out of this thread like a fiddler’s elbow this morning. Good job I’m so interesting.

Urmstongran Fri 05-Mar-21 09:00:37

I’d like to send you a ? gillgran but I’ve been on here enough times this morning ....

Anniebach Fri 05-Mar-21 08:58:29

Good morning Auntyflo and all x
