If not Oprah interviewing, who would you like to have seen?

Who might, in your opinion, have done a better job?
For myself, I would have liked to have seen Andrew Neil in the interviewer's chair.

(I was joking about Piers btw) grin

It wouldnt have been boring though like it was.

PA could do with a bit more demolishing.

Considering the demolition job she did on Prince Andrew, it would have to be none other than Emily Maitlis.

Piers Morgan haha

I think I’d go for Louis Theroux, he’s very good at getting under people’s exterior gloss and exposing their true selves.

AmberSpyglass, I think the suggestion is for a stronger more questioning interviewer. The general feeling is that Oprah Winfrey gave the pair a very easy ride and didn’t push for answers as some of those suggested might have done.
Nothing to do with race or sex of the interviewer.
Kirsty Whark or Emily Maitlys might have been more probing.

^...nothing about where Meghan Markles mum was during her teen years. Was she actually in prison as has been said and if so what for.^

Dear God, what next?

To be fair, when any other members of the RF agree to an interview they do not choose an interviewer who is likely to be abrasive and put them on the defensive. They do exactly the same as M&H have done.

Has anyone ever seen a RF interview where the interviewer was challenging them; apart of course for Andrew who is clearly a bit short of brain cells, amongst other things? They are usually pretty cringeworthy.

Oh yes, let’s discuss replacing a woman of colour with (based on the predominant suggestions) a white man.

Surely it has nothing to do with the age, sex, race or religion of the potential interviewer. The OP asked who would be best for the job.

“Harry was born on September 15, 1984, which means he was conceived around Christmas 1983 ... “Diana did not meet James Hewitt until the summer of 1986........

Donald Trump!

maddyone I think there would be a paternity test for Harry/Charles and a lie detector for Meghan.

Pippa22 Tue 09-Mar-21 22:00:26

It was quite gentle but then I think that Oprah had them in her sights a long time ago. There were big gaps in the questioning and nothing about where Meghan Markles mum was during her teen years. Was she actually in prison as has been said and if so what for.
I must say I was distracted by Oprah’s hair, was it a wig ? I couldn’t take to her glasses, didn’t think they suited her at all.

Jeremy Kyle???

Love it Missfoodlove.
Do you think he’d bring them to blows?

maddyone Tue 09-Mar-21 21:00:51

Andrew Neil, Jeremy Paxman, Robin Day (in his day, sorry about the pun.)

Missfoodlove Tue 09-Mar-21 20:36:51

Jeremy Kyle???

suzie I was thinking of the other thread where DC's perceptions of their childhoods differ from that of their parents.
I think we can all relate to that

suziewoozie Tue 09-Mar-21 20:10:25

Call I would never expect to get the full truth from the vast majority of interviews with anyone in the public eye- celebrities, politicians, royalty whatever. I think we are given a lot of partial truths, half truths and lies by omission and commission. Plus your point that people can have honestly held perceptions of the truth which differ wildly ( and widely).
