Mother’s Day memory

One Mothers Day, when I was young and thoughtless, I overslept.
I was woken by the sound of a coffee cup placed on my bedside table, and a pithy “Happy Daughters Day”!
This is one of my favourite memories, and was typical of our relationship. We had our ups and downs of course, but I had a lot of laughs with my Mum. She was witty and sharp (brain, not tongue).
Incidentally, she always used to tell me not to buy Mothers Day flowers, as she didn’t want me to be ripped off, so I always bought her something else.

Wish my mum was still here to celebrate with. I have 2 AC's and although Mother's Day was always special when they lived at home, now they live too far away and I haven't celebrated Mother's Day with them for many years. I miss this. They always send me lovely cards and flowers so they don't forget but I do get a little envious when I see families celebrating together as I miss them so much.
