Do you use your landline?

Haven't had a landline for 10 years now or internet for that matter. I find my mobile is far handier as everyone's numbers are stored in it and I don't go online an awful lot as not on fbook,etc. Plus I don't have that extra bill either!

Yes, I still use our landline. I hate answering calls on my mobile.

We get calls on it and have CallGuardian on it which has, pretty much, got rid of all cold calls - wonderful!

Oh and ours isn’t connected think the phone is in a cupboard somewhere we all have mobiles as I’m in the yard a lot and used to miss calls, not now I have my mobile

If you have a good 4g signal where you live, you can have broadband without a landline, we do!

I do not have a mobile and neither do I want one so yes I use my landline for phone calls - it's what it's for!

We have both a landline and a 4g mobile and use both regularly depending on who we are calling. We do however now take a mobile up to the bedroom where we have a landline extension, on the advice of the fire brigade in case a fire should disable the main phone downstairs. We’d never thought of that. Wouldn’t be without either.

We use free What's App for most calls. Then the landline is free for a one hour call, yesterday a call to a friend was 59 mins 30 seconds!!

Yes, because I don't own a mobile! Neither do I ever intend to buy one.

We still use our landline. My mum and most of our friends still have theirs, so most of our chats are carried out on it. We have call blocking now, so not bothered by scam calls.
Our sons phone me on my mobile as they don’t use landlines, and it’s generally unlimited time.

We have a landline which apoarently is live but stopped ringing the phone years ago (we tested different phones in different points in the house with the same result). Nit worth getting rid of it as its part of the media package, so just use the number to put into forms where a number is compulsory and so we won't get bothered by scam calls.

Everyone who I know has got my mobile number anyway. And the other reason is, my cochlear implant works with Bluetooth directly with my mobile, that’s something I can’t do on my landline ??

We never bother to answer the landline. Callers can leave a message but very rarely do. Usually trying to sell something, I expect. We wouldn't bother with it but it's part of our broadband and TV bundle.

I have a landline it came with the broadband package. It's too expensive to use at 20pence a minute. No one knows the number either. At my old flat l had a very good deal with talk talk l can only have bt here though.

Yes as signal is poor for my mobile but I don't ring out on it as it costs a lot.
I message my children and if they want to chat they ring the landline (they all have unlimited inclusive minutes so it doesn't cost them a bean extra) if I'm out and need to ring DD2 at home (she lives with me at present) I phone the landline as even her phone isn't that reliable, though it's much better than mine! (I have inclysive minutes too)
If I need to actually ring someone whilst at home (only ever ring companies or surgeries or council or whatnot, never personal) then I say, "it's such a bad line, I'll ring you back on landline" and they invariably say, "oh no, you might not get to me, I don't have a direct line to give you, give me the landline number". If they don't, I play the old gimmer line," oh dear the handset isn't in its cradle, can you ring me? I have no idea where I've put it but if you call me I'll hear it ringing!

We also unplugged our land line because of daily nuisance calls. We both have unlimited calls on our mobiles so no need to plug it back in, in fact we’ve forgotten the number.

Prefer to receive calls on the landline. I don’t carry my mobile around with me in the house, so don’t always hear if it rings.

I still have a landline and do use it for long chats to other landlines, using my free allowance. Are people so unaware that phoning a mobile from a landline or mobile that isn't on a minutes included contract is incredibly expensive? For my older relatives that would make them very reluctant to phone just for a chat, they'd keep phone contact to absolute emergencies except when I phoned them. My husband has a payg phone so only phones my mobile once in a blue moon when we're both out separately. He gets free minutes to landlines so 'phones home' quite frequently I think the use of the term luddites was very condescending and rude.

On the whole I prefer to speak on the landline and use the mobile for texting, etc. As always, there are exceptions to the rule.

I still use my landline for nearly all calls. I have a “pay as you go “ mobile which I only take if I’m going out without my DH. My family call it my “immobile phone” as it sits on the charger all the time. I can use my I-pad for messaging etc .

No, the landline is only there for the internet. We disconnected the phones and with all the scammers, I’m glad we did.

I hate our landline but my husbands mum uses it a lot so we are stuck with it.

I only use my mobile for emergencies. that is what I got it for years ago when traveling long distances by automobile. I use my land line almost exclusively, to me nothing beats settling in comfortably in my own home for a chat with friends or family. I realize I am terribly old fashioned but so what!

I suppose I have a landline as it's been part of my tv and broadband package.My family tend to use my landline number rather than my mobile one,not sure why.I don't use it to call them back if I miss their call,it costs a fortune,I use my mobile.It's handy to have a landline phone upstairs too,I never remember to carry my mobile about with me
