Do you use your landline?

Yes, we use ours quite a bit as the mobile reception is so bad in our area.

Always as though I have a mobile it is usually not charged or I can't find it. I only have a mobile for banking and I hate them.

Yes, the voice and reception is much clearer. As cossybabe has already mentioned. Mobile is good for short sharp information but to sit and have a comfortable conversation you cannot beat the landline.

I rarely use the mobile but do not listen to recorded messages that come on the landline assuming they are scams.. However yesterday I found out that someone had got access to my bank account and tried to buy an Apple machine for £2000 ... My bank had sent me a warning but I had deleted it thinking it was not genuine. Luckily my bank was on the ball and stopped my card anyway. So now I will listen to recorded messages until I know that they are not genuine. Be warned!

Use the landline all the time, very poor mobile signal. My mobile gets used mostly for taking photographs.

I always give my landline number as a contact number because I have a call blocking system on it and so I don't get the scam calls that are prevalent.
I don't have a problem with the reception for incoming or outgoing calls on my landline.

My sister and I ring each other a couple of times a week and always use our landlines. It is clearer and easier to hold and ringing her land line means I know she is home. If I ring her mobile she could be at the shops or out and about. I would miss the land line.

I use my landline about 95% of the time. I don't use an answerphone as I don't want the bother of having to ring people back. I get almost no scam calls on it. I do ring mobile numbers sometimes when there's no alternative but would prefer not to. I like having a landline and can't see me changing that.

Never use the landline for outgoing calls. Still know a few Luddites who insist on calling in on landline.

I use landline for most calls, only friends and family have my mobile and essential people, I hate being called when I’m out and about with rubbish calls.

My Mother is the only caller on our landline. If it is not her it will usually be a scam call.

I have a landline which rarely works whenever it rains (old wiring).
I do however have a working mobile phone, which has What's App plus text services on it.
I have 2 email addresses and
I have my home address, should anyone wish to send me snail mail.
Despite this, there are people who, after trying my landline, then give-up and through a 3rd party I hear they have been trying to get hold of me.
Obviously not trying hard enough!

People in the village mostly use landlines to talk amongst ourselves. It's a lot easier to remember a 6 digit number than however many digits a mobile comes with these days!

Unplugged the landline phone as was fed up with the scam calls. Anyone who wants me can get me on my mobile...

I much prefer the landline - more comfortable and a better reception

We prefer to use the landline because the reception is better. We have to pay for a telephone line to get broadband so it doesn’t make sense to not use it.
I had an elderly aunt whose phone bill was enormous as my cousins only had mobiles.

I hate my landline and rarely use it. Most calls I get on it are scammers as my family all have mobiles. When the house phone rings I lose the internet for ages. And speaking on it is difficult as it sounds like someone frying sausages in the background. The reception here is not good.
But I have to have it in order to get broadband, I suppose.

Yes all the time. We do have old mobile phones on pay as you go. They were cast offs from DS1 and Ddil when they emigrated. We use them a bit for emergencies when out and about but they are frequently out of charge. We just don't have the mobile mindset.

I don't have a handset plugged into my landline socket I use my mobile. I do have my broadband plugged into landline socket of course. so you need the line.

I use my landline a lot for all sorts of reasons and would not want to be without it.

Yes, my landline is used because the mobile signal is unreliable here, as it is in much of Torbay. However, I make WhatsApp calls on my mobile, especially to DD1 in Australia.

If you have a good 4g signal where you live, you can have broadband without a landline, we do!

We moved house a couple of years ago and decided not to plug the phone in. I don’t even know the phone number, we haven’t missed it one bit, plus it stops the scam calls.

Never. The handset is in a cupboard somewhere. I had to pay for the line in order to get broadband, that's the only reason I have it.
