Good morning from a grey and damp Northampton. I must get my skates on today and get everything done before joining my brother's Zoom service at 11.30am. He is renewing his commission in the Church Army; for those who have never heard of it, it is the C of E equivalent to the Salvation Army. I managed to successfully download Zoom onto my laptop yesterday and have the codes ready so am ready to go, fingers crossed.

DD-in-law is calling at some time today to drop things off for Mothering Sunday, so must make sure to leave the outer porch door unlocked. Eldest DGD starts back at school today, and her younger sister has done the whole week, much to her delight. She has missed her playmates so much.

Just about to get busy, and a cat has decided that it time for her morning cuddle on my lap!

Hope we all find a bright spot in our day.

Good morning Mick and all from a dark S Hants where we’ve got a very heavy hail shower just blown in, noisy too, just as the children are walking to school.
Hope it’s dry with you Pitt. sheep you sound like an absolute ball of energy tearing through your tidying and cleaning, wears me out reading it!
The greenhouse arrived yesterday, unfortunately 2 sheets of glass disintegrated into safety glass bits as they were unloaded, new ones coming Monday, ah well.
I wish you well with your various ‘oscopies’ and happy results, scentia I totally understand wanting something with a name to pin your ailings on.
And Marydoll thank you for explaining how RA is so intrusive, I had no idea, your frustration is palpable, your novellas a delight.
So many struggling kicks me up the proverbial, wishing you all a gentle day.

Good morning all from sunny (still) Lueneburg. Rain and stormy weather has been forecast for later. I am walking into the village for some shopping. Then a bit of gardening. I am going to flatten all the mole hills. Some are rather large. I am going to use the earth in my planter. Otherwise there is nothing happening here. I read, that in our town, we don`t have to wear masks in the center any more. I would rather be safe than sorry.

Suffolk was blessed with cloudless skies when I woke but it has clouded over now and it’s still fairly windy.
We had an outing yesterday, to a garden centre for a particular rose. Lovely just to go for a drive.
The fence which we own here is relatively new and in good condition. Around the rest of the garden there is one very long fence, one ancient flint wall and a wobbly brick wall, belonging to three different neighbours. A large section of the flint wall fell down a year ago and there are difficulties getting it fixed. The fence is only standing because of the cypress trees behind it - every fence post has rotted. The good news is that the new neighbours at the third house have immediately removed the dangerous brick wall, to replace it with a new fence. Hurrah!

Good morning all from a drizzly Polmont where it's currently 5°. I'm out later this morning to the local college for my first dose of protection. Hopefully I won't have bad side effects but food is taken care of this weekend and I have a Tesco delivery coming on Sunday morning.
Pittcity I hope it all goes well today and look forward to hearing from you in your new abode. Sheepandcattle you are a ball of energy! I vaguely remember being energetic. ? I hope the wee lamb can straighten out. Mick fish and chips on a Friday used to be a family tradition when I was younger. Tonight I'm having leftover chorizo and gnocchi in tomato sauce. I hope your journey isn't too stressful. Alygran it sounds like you're ready for a catch up! Have a lovely time.Marydoll I've had the same experience in the chemist when collecting a prescription. A rude man breinging in when there were two of us already in a small space. It's disconcerting. Ashcombe I love the thought of being one of the airmen. I once had to play a man at a murder mystery party and I painted a moustache on. That, and the deerstalker hat, made me resemble an old uncle.

Ashcombe, it could be stressful procuring everything needed if I couldn’t make or borrow an item. Scottish Opera were very helpful on a number of occasions, they have a huge warehouse in Glasgow and helped me out several times. I also discovered that there was an armoury hidden away in a very ‘rough’ part of town. They had all sorts of decommissioned weapons for hire.
Marydoll, you were in my thoughts all day yesterday.

I spotted the flamingo in a garden yesterday, poor wee thing is going to the dump by the looks of it. I was almost tempted to adopt it.

Hope you get some answered from the gp Scentia and good wishes to your DH Gagagran.

Not a lot happening hereabouts, more pottering and dog walking.

Not a lot going on for us; son in law is calling on his way from work to drop off some bacon DD got me from Sainsbury’s and I will send him off with some scones I made yesterday. A fair exchange....? Apart from that, it’s ironing.

Good Morning All x.
Looks damp and miserable outside. At least with the winds yesterday it was bright as the day dawned and a big shop at M&S was duly achieved----even if there was a long queue snaking round the corner ! A cold windy corner too.

The shop was packed as we got inside and as fast as stocks were going off the shelves the staff were filling them up again. D's trolly was like Mount Everest and even I have enough to last me a month, in the freezer. The local shops are alright for milk and cat food but there's only M&S if you want some decent grub.

Mick your monitor might be with you for a week where you have to enter your day to day movements/ activities so they can see what your heart's doing. It's a bit of a nuisance if you have to press a button every so often to make a note of your activity at the time---such as going to the bin,etc.

The last time I'd been fitted with one, a few years back, after I'd returned it the results went to my surgery and I was seen by a GP, who being a trainee, took one look at the graphs and bluntly said that he couldn't understand head nor tail of it ! I was then asked to do another weeks worth and flatly refused saying if they didn't understand it the first time, try it on another mug. A whole week I wasted writing a composition on what I was doing from day to day !
Hope it goes well for you anyway.

Also those of you with imminent tests I hope that all's well regarding the outcome. I can understand what you say about a " positive " test, Scentia because when you can't fathom out what ails you you're only too glad for the problem to be found then you can be treated for it.

I'm exhausted reading Sheepandcattle's workload with all the ewes and also housework has to be done too. Oh for that sort of energy. I hope little Pinchy manages alright with his wonkiness for a bit longer as it's never good if they have to " go ". Keep up the good work.

I don't envisage doing much today apart from the usual tidying around and I might just flick the duster across the mantlepiece if the fit takes me.

Good morning from a light grey Nottinghamshire. It’s raining a little bit but no wind today.
The CT was ok yesterday but they were busy in the department as apparently one of the other scanners was out of action. On the way home we had to drive past DD2 so we decided to stop for a distanced hello. Of course a violent hail storm started as we were chatting so it was a very short distanced hello! Nice to see her face anyway.
Not much to do today. Zoom with a couple of friends this morning, and my daily short walk.
My zoom with my old student friends yesterday was lovely - we always just chat away as if we’d never been apart, although it’s actually 50 years since our flat share!

Good morning from yet another rainy day in the Black Country.

Had yet another night of weird dreams. Cannot remember most of them, but a recurring one is of me missing the deadline to hand in my notice at work, so I have to do another month! I retired May 2016!

Popped out to Merry Hill yesterday to buy perfume for Mum for Mothers Day. She mentioned she couldn't get hold of Youth Dew and they had it there. It was a quick park and in and out. I felt very eery in there with hardly anyone about.

Have a video call planned today with my two friends, one who is now in Lincs and one in Shropshire, we haven't physcially met since November 2019, so it is lovely to have these calls now and again.

Hope it all goes smoothly today Pittcity I lived near Colchester in 75/76 in a village called Thorrington.

Sheepandcattle I am in awe of you.

Good morning all from a very disappointed Marydoll, much to my delight, I was due to have an empty this morning, however much to my disappointment, the golf has been cancelled due to a forecast of thunder and lightening.?

To those of you who PMd me yesterday and those who offered kind words, I was very touched, I will respond. I wasn't looking for sympathy, I just was tired of pretending I'm OK and thought a clarification would pre-empt any speculation if I didn't post.
I have always been resilient and bolshie, so hopefully I will remain so.

Well, the fairy door painting never materialised! I hate waste and I had out of date milk, so I made scones with it, whilst waiting for DH to look for the varnish, but he could only find wood stain in the garage, which wasn't of any use.
However, somewhere in my craft stash, I have some glittery paint, which might be an even better solution.

Then I got a call to say my car was ready and they were trying to find a driver to deliver it back to me, but were having problems. Its two towns away and near my son, whom I haven't seen since Christmas, as he lives in a different county. I was sorely tempted to see him.
I said I would come and get it, mainly because I need to get out and get my confidence back and I knew the dealership had protocols in place for keeping everyone safe. It probably wasn't the best of ideas. There were temporary traffic lights everywhere and huge tailbacks, it certainly tested my driving skills! The aggression and speed of some drivers was very unsettling.

On the way there, I asked DH if he could stop at the pharmacy to pick up my suitcase of prescriptions. My lovely SIL usually does it, but it means he has to give up his Saturday morning and it seems the pharmacy will no longer open on Saturdays, so I thought I would give him a break. Yet another error of judgment on my part.

There was one customer in the pharmacy waiting, so I kept well away. I was really short of breath and the mask was making it even worse. He kindly came over to see if I was OK, --as I backed away from him, nearly demolishing a display unit--?
He had a huge dressing on his eye and to put it politely, was rather spaced out. This dressing kept falling off , he pulled a chair into the middle of the shop and he proceeded to tell me that he had lost his eye and was in for new dressings. I thought I had wandered into a parallel universe!!!
I couldn't wait to get out!

Once back in the car, I asked DH to wait until I checked the meds. Quelle surprise, there was one drug missing. Back to the shop I hobbled in the wind and rain. My newly coiffeured hair was stuck to my head! ?
I used to know all the staff, but I knew no- one. I had a terrible time convincing them I hadn't received the medication. They insisted it had been dispensed and I insisted it hadn't been received.
They emptied shelves, paced up and down muttering and eventually gave me a new prescription. Its a tiny bottle, so it wasn't a surprise.
This parallel universe continued, when another lady, who had never heard of social distancing entered the shop. Her credit card was refused, she didn't understand English very well, the assistant was wearing a mask and had a very thick Glasgow accent. The whole scenario was like a comedy sketch. My usual busybody self would normally have interefered offered to help, but I just wanted out, as another two people had entered the shop, despite only two being allowed in at a time.
I hadn't even arrived at the garage yet and I was exhausted.

On the way home, I stopped for petrol, I hadn't fill the car up in sixth months, but I had a total blank, as the petrol station had been revamped and I couldn't work out how to use the pump. To cap it all, when I got home, I found a text from the Govt. Sheilding Service, advising me not to go out, even if I had received two vaccine doses, (I've only had one) . Do you think they had been tracking me? ?

DD arrived at 7.15am, to work from here and deal with the Tesco delivery, later on. The lifting of the bags seems trigger an angina attack, so she has stepped in to help. Yesterday I received a DVD of Calamity Jane, sent by DD to cheer me up. She is good to her mum! ?

Pittcity, wishing you a stress free move today. Dwmxwg, I'm glad to hear your appraisal went well and that your skills are recognised, your manager seems to be very astute. Hoping that you get some answers today, Scentia, as long as I have answers I can deal with things and the same goes for Bellasnanna

This morning I’m doing an online dance exercise class, I just do this once a week on Fridays now as I want to remember something at least when the gym eventually reopens. Probably a walk later this afternoon or some gardening, nothing different.

Good morning everyone from a damp but quiet south Manchester. Another low profile day here, staying out of the way of the contractors who are replacing the decking outside our front doors in the communal area. They have done the other end and today start in front of next door so we will be later today or Monday. They arrive just after 8am.

Himself says he will go down to the larder for our groceries after 4pm when they’ve cleared away and gone for the day.

As we are confined to barracks I intend to start a new novel. I came across a book I’d not read when sorting out my bookcase a couple of weeks ago. It’s ‘The Secret History’ by Donna Tartt. I’d noticed on one of the book threads that it was getting rave reviews so that’s me sorted for today!

Morning all from a still windy south coast. The sun is coming up though and will soon dry up the remaining dampness from yesterday's sometimes torrential rain. 6.3c on my weather station at 6am.

Not sure if DH will be allowed home today as he had a poor night with a few set backs but we'll see what his consultant says when he visits him later. We are taking it a day at a time.

Nothing so far on the agenda today. We'll see what happens.

Lovely to hear about the sheep maternity unit and glad your energy levels have been topped up sheep to allow some domestic duties! Your are an inspiration!
