Evening all. No news of Fern Soop. I do hope she appears soon.
Been sewing today. I’m making table mats for want of anything else to do. DS phoned to chat to his Dad about work. So nice they still need Dads support and advice, ?
Take care all.
Galen not heard from you for ages. Hope you are ok.
TOYA ?

Hello to everyone in the kitchen today, I’m a little bit late as I’ve been looking after DGD age 6 and we’ve had such a lovely day ? . Sounds like you’ve had another busy today grandmabatty , hope the little one is back to normal soon and enjoy your well deserved rest this evening
Lots of decorating going on ... got me thinking that we need to do some too! Most of the house is fine but there’s a few areas that could do with a bit of a refresh... I’ll break that news to DH later when he’s in a good mood..
It’s been another bitterly cold day though with snow flurries on and off all day. Let’s hope it warms up a little bit soon
Greenhouse looking really good jaxj ?

Jaxjacky Tue 06-Apr-21 18:45:35

anno brilliant you’re back to knitting, my Mum used to, including arran, but didn’t pass on the gene ?. Grandmabatty you deserve a medal, never nine an early night! And soop you’ll both have much to be satisfied with by the weekend ??
A day of showers, snow showers, sun and a bitter wind. I felt sorry for my greenhouse assembler, I was just tea monitor, he just worked away for six hours. Tis done, I’m happy.
Have a gentle evening, panache ?

Grandmabatty Tue 06-Apr-21 17:59:41

Thank you Puzzler61 and Soop. I have dropped him off and I'm lying on the couch. He would not go down for a nap. When I finally relented and got him up, he had a dirty nappy so I felt bad for him. He was definitely out of sorts today. Not ill but not right. Five dirty nappies and a sore mouth says teething to me. Anyway we had a cuddly time this afternoon. Spaghetti Bolognaise and garlic bread is one of my favourite meals Puzzler61. Can I come? Soop much impressed at your industry! I'm having leftover boeuf bourgignon and an early night. As Scarlett O'Hara said, "Tomorrow is another day."

Susan56 Tue 06-Apr-21 17:57:31

Just popping in to say TOYA and special thoughts and prayers to Panache and Mr P.I hope you had help over the bank holiday weekend.

Like soop, we are decorating.Another couple of days and we should be done?

Have a good evening everyone?

soop Tue 06-Apr-21 17:36:01

Oh happy moment! I'm able, I trust, to send today's message without the dratted gremlin stepping in to trash my efforts.

It has been a full day of painting and replenishing most of the natural wood floor surfaces. There is more to do but we are satisfied thus far. I'm painty. It is in my hair and I need to change out of all the clothing I've worn today. I have only just realised that my hearing aids are on the dressing table.

Grandmabatty You have my respect. flowers

anno please share a photo of the gilet when you've added the buttons. Well done.

I am a long way behind with catch-up. I hope that you are all coping and enjoying some good fortune, whether it be sunshine, news and meetings with family and friends, better health or having spent a well deserved Easter break in whatever way has pleased you.

I guess that we've another two full days of work to tackle. I shall certainly be with you in spirit. I shall also enjoy the time, when it comes, to entirely devote myself to the business of our kitchen.

All good wishes to you lovely lot. smile moon]

Good afternoon, it’s very quiet in the kitchen. Is there a party everyone has gone to and I’ve not been invited ?
If only - what is a party again ?? ?
Still cold winds and snow flurries to remind us we’re not done with winter yet.
At least it gives me an excuse for making a warming meal - it’s spaghetti bolognese with garlic bread on the menu for us tonight.
I hope you’ve survived the day with little GS Grandmabatty ?
Charleygirl I too will be frustrated but if at first I don’t succeed ..... (and I may not, but I will keep pressing “Post message” and see what happens).
Have a good evening , TOYA.

Grandmabatty Tue 06-Apr-21 12:27:53

I missed you yesterday Soop so I'm glad it was just gremlins at work. I'm sitting quietly as dgs has gone for a nap but isn't playing ball. He's currently shouting at me from his bedroom while I sit in the living room. We've been to the fish man, then an hour in the park then a walk to Aldi. He should be tired but he's fighting it again. So fingers crossed he actually falls asleep.

Charleygirl5 Tue 06-Apr-21 11:36:57

I also gave up trying to send anything. It is doubly frustrating when one has written as long missive- luckily I had not.
TOYA

Good morning, soop. I am full of admiration for your stamina and hope you aren't overdoing the painting. I wonder if there was a glitch last night as I can't see any posts sent after 18.39, so perhaps other people had a problem sending. I don't think I tried, or I would certainly probably remember.
A beautiful looking morning here in Cheshire but cold. I was reading in bed and fell asleep again, waking up somewhere around 10am - what a slob! At the weekend I finished off an Aran gilet I found in a drawer. It only needed an armhole done and that didn't take long. I must have stopped knitting about 15 years ago when I had to have surgery on my thumb joint and then a shoulder op into the bargain. It's an elaborate cable within a cable pattern and now just needs its buttons. I used to do a lot of Aran knitting - even for my in-laws who requested matching his/hers jumpers. There's still a jacket to finish off! Meanwhile, I also found some baby yarn and am knitting hats for prem babies, a very straightforward job. I have one to sew up this morning, but first, the dishwasher won't clear itself.

hmm Was I the only person unable to send messages?
Buggerations in abundance!
I did say that there appears to be a lightening of the fortunes of some of us lot. I am thankful.
There are some lovely photos. We have sunshine and white horses riding the waves.
No visitor! I am ever hopeful.
We have made a big difference to the interior of of our home. Still some way to go. I am hoping that good fortune smiles on me and allows me to enter our kitchen later today for a fulsome catch up. smile

soop Tue 06-Apr-21 10:05:41

Yesterday afternoon, after a very tiring but rewarding day spent decorating the wee hoos, I wrote a longgggggggggg message to our lovely kitcheners. I could NOT send it! I was hopping mad after an evening of returning to the puter and pressing send and getting no further forward. I shall now try to send this.

Hoo flipping ray!

Jaxjacky Mon 05-Apr-21 18:38:29

Thank you Nannytopsy I’ll have a look.

Nannytopsy Mon 05-Apr-21 18:09:33

Jax we are very fond of Richard Tuff prints and also have a number of favourite photos on canvas.

Puzzler61 Mon 05-Apr-21 18:00:48

X posts BladeAnnie . Think positive for your team, that’s all you need to do ?.
MrBA playing music while he cooks hmmmm. I’m sure his chilli recipe will be top notch but about the music ....... could he be running through options for the wedding ? ? You need to check with him under the guise of testing the chilli for ? heat factor ?

Jaxjacky Mon 05-Apr-21 17:57:57

I’m determined to post this picture, an omen perhaps, so just ignore me

Puzzler61 Mon 05-Apr-21 17:56:44

Beautiful photos Brook but bbbbrrrrrr ...... a return of winter it would seem.
Daisy good news that you have improved mobility,
And Jaxj take it easy for a few more days please.
You will have to give us a clue about your taste in wall art - a landscape?, flowers or trees (tree quite popular at the moment),
a favourite photo printed onto canvas maybe?
Almost endless choices. Are you going to look online or wait until retail outlets are open again?
We have seascapes in a couple of rooms, family photo’s on canvases upstairs, birds picture in a bedroom (sounds odd but they are quite pretty) and a framed painting of a row of cacti in pots in the kitchen.

BladeAnnie Mon 05-Apr-21 17:47:30

Good evening dear kitcheners - Jaxjacky the own goal just about sums up our season - dismal!! Puzzler so pleased to hear that you predict better results next season too smile. They could just be missing my presence?? Mr BA in the kitchen atm concocting his delicious chilli but listening to some rather dubious music - not up my street at all!! Wishing you all a very pleasant evening and virtual hugs for all who need a little comfort

Crumbs brook we had a smattering of sleet, that’s enough here in the south. Glad your foot is improving Daisy my knee seems ok, I’m wary, but ventured for a 20 minute walk. muse a horrid night for you, hopefully improved tonight. MrJ and I rub along, but he works, sporadically, so he’s not here all the time. As a self employed Artisan (ceramic tiler) ?! it depends on the job at the moment, inside with an empty house, or an isolated bathroom is ok, sometimes people are at work, so he gets on. Your son is talking, that’s good.
Right, kitcheners, in my normal dithery manner, I’m considering buying a picture, your comments appreciated, it’s for the wall behind the bench.

brook2704 Mon 05-Apr-21 17:08:04

Brrrrr it’s chilly outside today so good to be warm in the kitchen - we woke up to snow today and it’s bitterly cold too. Thank goodness the garden centres opened today, DH and I had somewhere to go and browse. We bought a couple of small rhododendrons that seem happy in our garden and some bird seed. Home now for veggie curry that’s in the slow cooker and that’s it for today
We watch LoD too but I have to keep asking DH to pause and rewind so I can understand what’s happening- he follows it much better than I can and he’s always having to explain it to me ...
Good news that your foot and ankle are getting better daisy
Hope things improve for your DS muse and he continues to keep in touch
Sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday grandmabatty and a lovely new girlfriend for your DS too!
