Glad to hear things are improving for you Mrshat

Urmstongran I hope you soon get on top of your health anxieties. All the waiting for appointments foesnt help I know. flowers I hope you come back soon.

A lovely sunny day in Portugal. They are starting to unlock things from today and cafes can open if they have outside space and up to 4 people can meet at a table. But still nothing about meeting up at home and the advice is still to stay at home as much as possible.

I now have a foot that looks like a foot and ankle and not a blown up rubber glove which is a great improvement.

TOYA and enjoy your Easter Monday.

muse I agree, that programme needs 100% of my attention and even then birdbrain does not take it all in.

Mya is a very lucky young lady with the care and attention she receives.

muse Mon 05-Apr-21 14:05:33

Early visit to the kitchen today. Caught up with yesterday's posts too.

Sunny at the ,moment if a little chilly. A day like most others, MrM and myself keeping each other company. MrM likes it like that but loneliness kicks in with me quite often.

I will miss Urm's daily lovely thoughts and news. You've helped me through some tricky times Urm. Hope it's just a short break. Thank goodness for the kitchen helpers. Your support and advice is much appreciated thanks

Just spoken to dear son and he sounds calmer but is obviously so worried about finances. He has maintenance to pay and has very high rent for his flat. He'll not get a reference from his last employer. Little savings but they are quickly disappearing. There will be a call from darling daughter tonight.

I've been deliberately inactive this morning following a bad night's sleep. Woke at 5:00 with hip pain. Too much bending with gardening which was mainly weeding. Standing jobs only today. Off for long walk with Mya and then just watering the plants I moved yesterday and pot more seeds up.

Watching LoD tonight Jaxjacky. We ate late last night. Can't eat and watch that programme. grin

Keep warm and cozy.

Charleygirl5 Mon 05-Apr-21 13:59:48

Although it is 3C here at least the sun is shining- that makes a difference.

soop has that minx deigned to have a sniff at whatever meal has been lovingly prepared for her? The problem is there are more exciting things to do in the woods and she is well aware there will always be a lovely meal for her irrespective of when she decides to appear. She no longer has to go hunting for hot food. It would be nice to know-I promise I would not carry on like that if and when I arrive.

Sounds like a a very good day Grandmabatty. We also had a lovely afternoon evening and the weather was perfect.I’m sure my GS’s have hollow legs they eat everything in sight and are both like beanpoles! They have grown so much this year now 12 and 14 going on 21?
We had a snow shower earlier it’s so cold and I’m feeling achy today so nice to sit in the warm with tea and cake.
Have a good Bank holiday Monday all and keep warm.

Grandmabatty Mon 05-Apr-21 12:47:04

Thank you Puzzler. Normality is partially restored to Batty Towers. I always fed the family at Easter and had 10+ at the table so having some of the family back was lovely. Warm sausage rolls are a particular favourite of mine. I'll take a couple if I may.

Puzzler61 Mon 05-Apr-21 12:28:41

Grandmabatty I can still feel you buzzing after your visitors yesterday. A bit of normality returning to your life.
I know what you mean about getting to know new partners - and then they disappear. It’s saddening when you like them. I have one yet to settle down.
Wishing everyone a good Bank Holiday. Don’t get blown away in your gardens or out for walks. We’ve even had snow flurries this morning.
I hope Panache , Maw and Urmston are okay and reading if not posting. ?
soop how is the decorating going? Has Fern been seen this weekend?
My tabby cat goes out rarely now. Today she is preferring her igloo. She likes a warm spot for her bottom. Talking of warm spots I’m going to sit here awhile by the fire. There are warm sausage rolls on the side everyone and hot chocolate in a flask with a bottle of Bailey’s if you want to add a slug.
Please help yourselves.

Nannytopsy Mon 05-Apr-21 10:09:46

That’s such good news! Glad you had a good time.

Grandmabatty Mon 05-Apr-21 09:56:39

It was lovely Nannytopsy! She's a nice, friendly girl who chatted away and can hold her own against my rather bossy son! She can certainly eat and cleared her plate. She has a number of interests similar to me so we had plenty to talk about. More importantly, my son is happy and that's what matters. I liked her but I've liked all his girlfriends. He picks lovely girls and then it's like a little bereavement when they split up. He's not a lothario! He's had four long term relationships since he was young and he's 35 this year. I just would like him to settle down. The icing on the cake was the visit of dd,dgs and dsil. I didn't think sil would be down as he's still unwell but he managed and it was lovely to see him socialising. Thanks for asking! I hope everyone had a nice day.

Nannytopsy Sun 04-Apr-21 23:58:23

Was this the new girlfriend grandmabatty? How did it go? @nosygran!

Grandmabatty Sun 04-Apr-21 21:27:57

I'm late to the kitchen today as I have been entertaining my ds and his girlfriend for dinner. I should tidy up but I'm tired so it'll wait til tomorrow. Nice leftovers for me for tomorrow dinner. I hope everyone had a good day. Urmstongran take care of yourself.

Urms we will miss you. Hope your anxieties are nothing serious health wise. Please come back to us soon. Take care x
Happy Easter Sunday all, I’m am about to partake of some delicious chocolate having given it up for lent. So looking forward to it ?

Jaxjacky Sun 04-Apr-21 18:57:19

Well that’s good news mrshat long may it continue.

Puzzler61 Sun 04-Apr-21 18:41:43

Crossed posts mrshat. Very happy to hear things have taken a better turn for you ?

Puzzler61 Sun 04-Apr-21 18:40:40

I looked into my crystal ball BladeAnnie and next year ? is definitely going to be lucky for your team ? ?
Thinking of you all. ?

mrshat Sun 04-Apr-21 18:40:30

Thank you all for your good wishes, good vibes and prayers. Things are already taking a turn for the better. Long may it continue. flowers for you all.

Jaxjacky Sun 04-Apr-21 18:13:47

I’ve rested and hopefully, that’s doing the job, ten years ago I wouldn’t have given it a second thought, I don’t like some parts of getting older.
BladeAnnie DH’s team played you yesterday, sorry, but there was an og, my team, Southampton, won today, DH supporting Leeds is a long story. The greenhouse man got the frame up this morning and returns Tuesday. We’ve made tentative plans for a bbq Friday with DD and GC’s, ? it doesn’t rain. What a glorious day those of you with garden visits have had, an injection of fuzzy warm love, a glimmer of hope this Easter Day. For those of you with sadness, illness, lonely or sad. We always think of you ?
Have a gentle evening all, enjoy LoD if you watch.

BladeAnnie Sun 04-Apr-21 17:43:05

soop - it's Sheffield United. I think relegation is almost a certainty now but hopefully we'll re-group and get back on track next season. And dare I hope they might be able to welcome their fans back??

soop Sun 04-Apr-21 17:18:32

BladeAnnie Which team are you rooting for? I shall shout some encouragement from bonnie Kintyre.

Away for today. Log off time until tomorrow. Settle down to read the Sunday paper and look forward to tonight's G&T. I deserve it. wink

TOYA especially those of our Granspals who need extra tender loving care. smile moon

soop Sun 04-Apr-21 17:15:03

dragonfly A stroll amongst the golden daffodils is an ideal way to put some much needed zing into all our weary spirits. The house smells of fresh paint and turps. I shall open a window.

Nannytopsy Enjoy every moment of having loved ones with you to share this special day. sunshine

brook Snap! We two are having Scottish salmon this evening. Followed by a Magnum dark chocolate ice cream. Simple pleasures. Gratefully received. smile

soop Sun 04-Apr-21 17:07:24

Pittcity Ha ha. wink

Welcome back Susan. It's good to have you here in the Easter kitchen.

GrannyGravy Do you have room for us lot? We'll bring the cocktails. We will be on our best behaviour.

Jax Please take Puzzler's sound advice. Tweaked body parts do need R&R. We wouldn't want you to be in worsening pain when you should be enjoying the Easter holiday.

BladeAnnie Sun 04-Apr-21 17:03:45

Happy Easter Sunday everyone. It's been a lovely sunny day here in mid-Notts but looks to be getting cooler later in the week. Jaxjacky and *bluesapphire I could do with some advice on lucky clothing for the footy - nothing has worked for me this season!! Rooted firmly in the basement!! Virtual hugs to all who need a little comfort and hope everyone has a pleasant evening

brook2704 Sun 04-Apr-21 15:35:19

Happy Easter to all the lovely kitcheners .. and thank you for the flowers puzzler and the delicious cupcakes pittcity yummy
Hoping you’ll be back with us soon Urmston we’ll miss you and your happy friendly posts
I had a lovely video call earlier from DS in Switzerland, he usually calls on a Sunday and it’s always good to chat. DD1 has sent lovely photos of two DGS playing out in the sunshine in Cambridge and DD2 who lives locally in Inverness is doing an Easter egg hunt in town with the little ones. So it’s just a quiet day today with me and DH which I don’t mind at all. Salmon for tea later as I’m not really much of a meat eater, and some calorie free Easter chocolate of course.
Take care of that knee jax and hope the decorating is going well soop and susan

Nannytopsy Sun 04-Apr-21 15:30:55

We had a real Church service this morning which was a delight. DS is asleep upstairs after a night shift, then his little family will arrive for tea. He will go back to work afterwards. We are their childcare bubble and only take slight liberties with the rules. They all have weekly tests and we are lucky that our area is currently 0 cases per 100000.
Happy Easter everyone!

dragonfly46 Sun 04-Apr-21 15:12:34

Lovely photo GG13.
Keep up the good work soop I am sure it will all look lovely when finished.

We all need a break from time to time Urmston. Hope you feel better soon.

The good weather encouraged me to go for a walk amongst the daffodils this afternoon.
