Soop, I am not a baker but quite good at 'borrowing' photos wink

GrannyGravy13 Sun 04-Apr-21 14:35:09

Wishing you all a joyous and peaceful Easter Sunday.

The 6 yr old GC has requested a Christmas Easter Dinner so that is what I am cooking, complete with pigs-in-blankets.

We shall miss Urms witty and friendly posts ?

Happy Easter Day everyone✝️??

Once again I am totally behind on all kitchen doings. We had to do extra childcare as our daughter was unwell. We now have nearly a week off so instead of resting like sensible people we have taken a leaf out of soop’s book and the paintbrushes are out.Today the garage door and front door and tomorrow we are wallpapering the dining room?

Pittcity, those cakes look delicious.I am sure if I wasn’t diabetic I would be the size of a house?you would think after 20 years I would have lost my sweet tooth but sadly not. However, nothing tastes as good as a low blood sugar reading makes me feel!

Urmstongran, I hope you can get on top of your health anxiety,it must be very wearing.Looking forward to seeing you back when you are feeling better?

TOYA especially those with illness, worries and anxiety?

Moussaka is a lovely meal and I bet your homemade one was delicious jaxjacky. When I’ve been on holiday to Greece, I could eat it every day!
Sorry to hear you have tweaked your knee - R&R is what’s needed now.
The sun is soooo warm (I am behind glass in the Conservatory ‘though) ?
I am keeping fingers crossed that Fern returns to your auberge soop if only for a good meal and then goes on her way again.

Jaxjacky Sun 04-Apr-21 13:31:45

Well I’m happy, greenhouse building man, Ian, has been and started building my greenhouse, he’ll return Tuesday to finish it. It’ll be a lazy day, I tweaked my knee somehow on Friday, so being careful. The moussaka was flipping delicious, worth all the faffing with the prep, I’ll make it again and there’s enough left for DH tomorrow.
I hope you’re feeling better today mrshat.
Urms when you’re ready ?
Have a lovely afternoon all.

Hey ho, it's off to work I go. Fresh paintwork is uplifting. Trouble is, once I start, I have difficulty knowing when to stop.

Still no news of the errant pussy cat. hmm

soop Sun 04-Apr-21 12:27:11

Puzzler You are soooo right. My drop-bot is so much worse than when the surgeon took the stapler to it. I'm still awaiting a phone call from said surgeon. The truth of the matter is, Covid has disrupted the routines of minor hospital appointments. I must remain patient and continue to be hopeful of a resolution before I pop my clogs. wink

Urmstongran We shall look forward to the day when you feel much improved and join us lot in the kitchen. Your chair is reserved just for you. flowers

Pittcity Did you bake the Easter nest cupcakes? They look far too good to eat. However, if you insist...grin

dustyangel and all, Happy Easter weekend to every one of you. You are all super special peoples.

soop Sun 04-Apr-21 12:16:34

Warm welcome to BlueSapphire. That is such a beautiful name.

Dear mrshat, my very best healing thoughts are with you. sunshine

Grandmafrench I'm about to start on other painting jobs. Mr Soop has offered to do the skirting boards. He's a gentleman. I'm painting window sills today. Nice, easy eye-level jobs.

Puzzler61 Sun 04-Apr-21 09:58:28

There is now 1 less Easter nest cake in the kitchen Pittcity. Thank you, I love them and always made them with my children when they were little. ? ? ?
Happy Easter Day to all kitchen friends.

Yiayia4 Sun 04-Apr-21 09:29:28

Feel for you Urmstongran my Dil has health anxiety and it’s turned her world upside down. Please take care and come back soon?

dustyangel Sun 04-Apr-21 09:26:38

Best wishes Urmston and Happy Easter to you, the soops and all the kitcheners.???

NanaandGrampy Sun 04-Apr-21 09:25:49

Morning all,

Sorry to hear you're not doing well Mrshat- hope that passes quickly and sorry to hear your health is bad too Urms, hopefully you too will feel better soon .

Welcome BlueSapphire - my birthstone !!

This will be the 2nd Easter with no Easter Egg hunt here . Bit sad really as for the last 14 years it has been my job to create one , starting quite simply when they were all little to the high tech one we had in 2019. I wonder if I put some eggs out Grampy could be persuaded to go on a hunt ?

Our village has created an Easter Trail to raise money for the pre school as normal fund raising has been suspended for so long. Its been lovely seeing the little one rushing around looking for the hidden bunnies.

It'll be another quiet day here - they are all mostly quiet these days - Happy Easter everyone x

Pittcity Sun 04-Apr-21 09:25:23

Happy Easter to the kitchen. I've left some Easter nest cupcakes on a high shelf for all the calories to jump off.
Big hugs for all, especiallyUrmston x?

Puzzler61 Sun 04-Apr-21 09:21:51

Sorry to hear that Urmstongran we’ll miss you (but we understand your need for a break).
Here’s sending many hugs ? ? ?
and warm wishes for better health for you.
You can do it lovely lady ?

cornergran Sun 04-Apr-21 08:45:04

Be gentle with yourself urmston, health anxiety is exhausting, take the time you need. Don’t pressurise yourself, it won’t help, we’ll be thinking of you and will welcome you back when you feel ready.

Urmstongran Sun 04-Apr-21 08:28:42

Just popping into the kitchen to wish all you lovely folk a happy Easter Sunday.

I’ve decided to take a little break from GN while I hope to get on top of my health anxiety and then come back when hopefully I’m back to feeling myself again. I’ll be thinking of you all in my absence. x

Hello bluesapphire, welcome.

I’m sorry life is difficult mrshat, flowers for you.

Night night everyone, time for sleep here.

BladeAnnie Sat 03-Apr-21 22:56:37

Welcome to the lovely kitchen Bluesapphire. Beautiful flowers Puzzler smile

Puzzler61 Sat 03-Apr-21 22:30:45

Sorry you are feeling so troubled mrshat.
The kitchen is still lovely and warm soop; plenty of logs to throw on the (virtual) fire. Please take care scooting on your ‘bot’ while helping Mr soop . (Remember it is a most delicate area).
I’m leaving a vase of flowers ready for Easter Day. Goodnight all, sleep well.

dragonfly46 Sat 03-Apr-21 22:29:47

Grandmabatty Sat 03-Apr-21 22:05:43

Evening BlueSapphire. Happy memories for you. I've made a cheesecake for tomorrow but I have to let it cool down before I put it in the fridge. It's a baked cheesecake. Up early tomorrow to deliver Easter flowers to various people. Then I'm making boeuf bourgignon in the slow cooker.

Nannytopsy Sat 03-Apr-21 22:00:49

Welcome BlueSapphire - my team are winning as we speak! Glad you enjoyed your Chinese. I have one in mind for Monday.
Sleep well everyone.

Doodle Sat 03-Apr-21 21:48:33

Welcome Bluesapphire . What a lovely day you’ve had with your DD and DSIL. I would love a Chinese takeaway. None open round here.

BlueSapphire Sat 03-Apr-21 21:46:13

Jax would have been perfect if DH were here, and DS and family, but it's been as pretty near perfect all the same. We now have rugby on tv again, so all is ok.
