Good Morning Everyone,
Its dry and bright outside here in Brackley this morning .
Today for me maybe do an early small shop , and then watch TV , with cycling on later as well.
Also later put the clocks forward an hour as well, plans to get a 2 course Chinese take away later also.
But with Lockdown restrictions coming in on Monday , and the opportunity to use the bus and visit places like Buckingham ,and bicester are on the cards .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a sunny Cheshire. Not much planned other than a walk ( couple of miles ) to deliver the newspaper to DS and family . We order an extra "I" (am I allowed to say that or is it advertising ?) for him as they don't get a delivery and he enjoys the weekend puzzles and crosswords.
A good weekend to all and good wishes to those who are having a worrying time.
Will read posts later.

Auntieflo Sat 27-Mar-21 08:31:52

Good morning Mick, Annie and all from a bright and sunny bit of Berks.
My brother's funeral went well yesterday, sad but then, it was such an unexpected event, for all of us. I was OK right up until the end, then something got to me and I did cry. I had a couple of, probably, illegal hugs, but oh, how I needed them.
(So please, no telling off)

Someone upthread, has posted that it is a sad day for Maw, I don't know what has happened, but if she still reads this, I send her a hug.
I didn't read yesterdays posts, so perhaps I should go and catch up on all that is going on.
Thank you to everyone who sent me good wishes. My pain has abated a lot and I did have a good night's sleep last night.

Remember to put your clocks forward tonight and enjoy your weekend one and all.

Good morning everyone, It's a beautiful sunny day so far today here in north Leicestershire.
So today is my first jab wish me luck.My husband had his last week with no ill effects not even a lump on his arm.
Iris is such a brave little girl, i have noticed that children take illness and adversity a lot better than adults. Also glad that Louis is doing well.
To all suffering illness, loss and sadness I hope today brings peace and some relief.

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.

Nothing planned, maybe a walk later alone as my walking buddy is grieving.

We have friends coming to sit in the garden next Tuesday and I am so excited.

Iris is amazing GrandMattie even just thinking about walking 3 miles.

Scentia Sat 27-Mar-21 08:27:14

Sorry grandMattie ?

amselerin Sat 27-Mar-21 08:25:51

Good morning Mick and and everyone from ( maybe warmer later )Lueneburg.
Well, lots of things have happened here. I am being vaccinated next week with the 2nd vaccination scheduled at the end of June. I am so happy. My friend, who is at the moment in hospital, is going into a rehabilitation home for the next 4 weeks. Afterwards, I should think, she is going home. - grandMattie Iris is an inspiration-
I have been gardening and not doing much otherwise. I do walk rather a lot. I got myself an emergency call out alarm after my friend spent 1 1/2 days lying on the floor in her flat.
I decided to rent the top flat in my house out, as I hope to be able to visit my sons in England for several months at the time. Well, no chance at the moment. So, I should do a lot of preparations . The problem is I am rather lazy and work best under pressure.
I wish all of you well and may things get better.
Keep well.

grandMattie Sat 27-Mar-21 08:20:19

Please don’t pm yet. Nothing has been set up for “Iris*. She’s only “in training” at the moment.

I promise to let you know if/when a website is put up! Thank you all for your kindness from the bottom of my heart.

Good morning from a breezy Morecambe Bay. I await my phone call from my friend, I can’t believe it’s Saturday again. Later today DH’s daughter and her son are calling round for a picnic in the park. I hope the wind drops. Haven’t seen them since the summer when we met in their garden. On that occasion the window cleaner called. DGS got his dirty sweeping brush and copied what he saw the window cleaner doing. All we could do was laugh. It was so well timed. DH is quite excited as he’s had lots of videos of the little ones antics. I’m not so bothered as we don’t really get on! Take care safe everyone. ???

Good morning Mick, morning all from bright and chilly South Lanarkshire.

Yesterday’s dog walk was exhausting, we had sun, rain, hail, snow and wind, all within the space of 90 minutes. Poor little pooch and I were feeling battered by the time we got home.

I’ll pm you if I may for link to sponsor Iris gMattie, she’s such a brave wee thing.

Nothing more exciting on the agenda today than bed linen changing - and remembering to remake it before bedtime!

Braved a visit to a larger supermarket yesterday and was able to stock up on cards. April is a busy birthday month, so as well as Easter eggs for the DGCs I managed to pick up a couple of little gifts for my grand nieces.

I’m glad to hear that restrictions are easing for those of you south of the border, enjoy your garden gatherings.

That’s a lovely quilt Scentia, well done you.

I’ll have missed loads of people I’m sure but I read all the posts and celebrate and commiserate along with you all. This is such a heartwarming thread with which to start the day.

Wishing everyone a peaceful Saturday.

maydonoz I cut a label out of a bra and keep it in my bra drawer so that I can see what size I was!!

Sheepandcattle Sat 27-Mar-21 08:12:01

Good morning all from an overcast Wiltshire. I’ve sot serious quilt-envy Scentia - that’s really pretty.
grandMattie - please pm me too so that I can sponsor your plucky little GD .... what a little trooper she is.
We collected ‘Bogdon’ our new bull yesterday and 4 new cows. No photos yet as it was getting dark by the time we had them home but I shall take some today. He seems like a very nice chap - I do hope his new ‘wives’ will like him!? Bogdon and the 4 new cows will have to isolate in the barn for a little while whilst we organise blood tests and vaccinations as we don’t want to risk bringing any ‘nasties’ onto the farm.
I had a mammoth task yesterday - our accountant wants a report of when and how much was paid for all the parcels of land on the farm. The farm was bought bit by bit by DH’s grandfather, sometimes an acre at a time since the 1940’s so we have piles of old deeds that I need to work my way through. Some of the old maps are really beautiful and the penmanship is like nothing that is seen nowadays. I have commandeered the dining room table for the job but it’s going to take another session or 2 at least to make some sort of order of it all. An interesting task all the same. I’ve also got a heap of other paperwork that is awaiting my attention so it can rain all it likes this weekend as, once the livestock is fed and sorted, I’m going to be having an indoors-weekend wading through it all.
Splint and dressing change day for little Pinchy today also so I’ll report to her fan club in tomorrow’s post!
Wishing you all a happy Saturday, especially those who are unwell or have loved ones who are poorly.

Good morning from sunny Colchester. It's cold and breezy but the sky is clear.
Filling a skip bag today as DH is exasperated at the queues for the tip. Mostly topsoil as we are rearranging our new smaller garden. DD1 is popping over later to pick up our excess garden furniture for her new bigger garden.
I no longer have a laundry room but there's plenty of space in the kitchen/diner to set up the ironing board. I have DS's uniform to press today. I know he should do it but I like to spoil him.
Watching the new series of Keeping Faith tonight.

Love to all xx

brook2704 Sat 27-Mar-21 08:06:47

Happy Birthday to your DGS grandmajet ???
I hope he has a brilliant day even though it’ll be his second birthday in lockdown- poor lad! Hope you get your very special hug soon

Gingster Sat 27-Mar-21 08:06:19

Good morning from a beautiful day here in Essex. ☀️

No ironing here for me either. Only on special occassions if the need arises. I don’t think we look any more crumpled than anyone else. I used to stand for hours ironing shirts, uniforms, sheets etc. But not anymore. ?.

Bless little Iris - she really is a super star ?. I’d like to give a donation too.

It was DS1’s sixteenth wedding anniversary yesterday and I had forgotten until all the family wassap messages came through. I popped to Tesco and bought flowers, Prosecco and a card. Took them round and left it on their doorstep. Think I got away with it. ?. Whilst in the store I bought all the Easter eggs, so that’s another job done. Im Sending a box of easter treats to the Gd’s who live in another county. ?. We usually have Easter egg hunt in our garden on Good Friday but this will be the second year we haven’t been able to ?. If we are allowed next year, the olderGC won’t be interested so we have missed more lovely family times together.

Did anyone watch Kate Humbles walk along the Suffolk coast last evening? She passed by our seaside cottage. I’m not sure when it was filmed, but can’t recall anyone seeing her and the film crew. ?

DS will come at 9 to go for a walk with his dad. We’re trying to get his legs stronger. Going on to different Statins don’t seem to have improved him. He’s playing golf on Thursday to try himself out! ?️‍♂️.

I made beef cobbler yesterday. Dont know what happened but the cobblers were inedible. Like pieces of concrete.! I went by a recipe too. The stew underneath was nice though.

Here’s hoping the sun shines on you all today.

Heres a pic of my ameryllis. I didn’t think it was going to grow but suddenly it woke up and it’s glorious!

Happy Saturday to you all. ???

maydonoz Sat 27-Mar-21 07:58:42

Good morning all from a bright and sunny Welwyn, Herts although I think it's cold at the moment, maybe it will warm up a bit later.
Today I need to do a small shop for special items that DH probably wouldn't be able to find.
A trip to M&S is called for, all my bras are worn out and desperately need new ones, trouble is I can never remember my size and I don't think they will be doing the measuring service so will see. Also need a few bits from Aldi if I can stop there as well, but Saturday is always busy and best avoided.
Next week being half term will be busy as I will have both DGC and DH will be busy elsewhere, but the day passes quickly until I can give them back!
Wishing all of you a lovely Saturday whatever you're doing, mustn't forget to put the clocks forward, at least the mobile is automatic.

grandmajet Sat 27-Mar-21 07:47:53

Good morning from a lovely bright Nottinghamshire. I can hear the birds singing through the bedroom window as I type and drink my cup of tea, courtesy of himself. Everybody sounds brighter today - the weather, or maybe the hope of seeing loved ones soon.

It’s my youngest grandson’s 9th birthday - we can see them for a distanced hello but will long for a hug.

We tend to iron quite a lot of things too. We have one set of bed linen that doesn’t seem to need it and we try to get that one dried and back on the same day! I love that some little ones don’t know what an ironing board is!

I’m another who would like to support Iris in her efforts. I hope you can let us know how.

Mmm, fish pie, Beechnut. Yum. We’re having liver casserole to boost my iron intake - I had a bit fried yesterday too. I don’t mind it, but it’s not fish pie!

Enjoy the sunshine everyone.

Kalu Sat 27-Mar-21 07:42:59

What a fabulous first attempt Scentia! I really can’t see how you could improve upon such a pretty quilt.

grandMattie Sat 27-Mar-21 07:39:29

Brook, it is a flowering currant, up close and personal.
Thank you for offering to sponsor Iris. I think the safest and wisest thing would be to pm me and I’d give you the link.

Kalu Sat 27-Mar-21 07:38:16

Good morning all from Glasgow. Grey, wet and only 2deg.

What a tense match last night’s rugby was. Phew! Congratulations to Wales ???????

My favourite time of year with the clock going forward and the promise of Spring ahead, bringing the garden back to life.
???.

Have a pleasant day all, hoping you find something which gives you pleasure along the way.

Scentia Sat 27-Mar-21 07:27:33

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where the sun has got his hat on ?
I have a second appointment at the chiropractor so will feel like goodness knows what tomorrow.
Grandmattie. If you are allowed and the powers that be don’t have an issue then little Iris will get lots of support on a just giving page from all your Good Morningers! If they say no I am happy to get a PM with details? you will be proud I am sure.
You may not be quite as proud of my first effort at quilting, I am halfway through sewing the buttons on, it looks ok but some of my squares are out of line!!!??
Take care everyone and enjoy this improved weather, it can only get better.
Clocks tonight- YAY ?

nanna8 Sat 27-Mar-21 07:18:54

Hi everyone. We had our vaccines today, so far so good but the lady at the door was very snappy. Overtired I guess. Nothing much planned this evening because we didn’t know what the effects on us would be. Off to make dinner now, just spag boll with some green capsicum and grated cheese. Maybe hold on the wine tonight.

brook2704 Sat 27-Mar-21 07:17:32

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve got a lovely sunny but quite cold start to the day, with a bit of overnight frost, no snow here Beauregard but I expect it’s still on the hills . Good news about some restrictions being lifted in Wales today, another step forward back to some normality.

Good luck to Iris GM what a star! Thank you for the picture, what flower is it please? It looks lovely and delicate
Nothing planned again today, I might pop to DD garden to see what the little ones are up to - always brightens my day. No ironing ever done here - everything just smoothed out ?
Oh dear I had a mum like that Susan always phoned every evening with nothing much to say, the conversation was always the same. I do miss that contact now though, although I didn’t enjoy it at the time .
Try not to think that you have to justify contact with your DS and DGD nannytopsy you’ve made a support bubble and there’s nothing wrong with that.
It’s a date Ashcombe, we hope to be back one day ...
Hope the eye clinic appt is ok dwm and you get sorted
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, take care all whatever the day brings ?

GrannyGravy13 Sat 27-Mar-21 07:12:22

Good morning Mick and all

Middle son and his wife are getting their jabs today (41 & 40) , they have no underlying conditions I guess their GP is just ahead of the game (the one near you Sar53
Iris sounds like a very determined young lady grsndMattie

As it’s the weekend I have nothing planned other than popping down the road to local butchers, no idea what I fancy though ?

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️

Beauregard Sat 27-Mar-21 07:06:33

Good morning all from Derbyshire. Clear blue sky here but a little chilly. I admit to not paying much attention yesterday when the weather presenter said the word "snow", thinking they must have meant on the mountains or far northern isles. But there it is...a fine scattering of icy snow over the garden.

My friend cancelled our walk yesterday, but not before I'd been shopping and bought her a flower planter for her birthday present! Hopefully it will still be ok when we rearrange for next week. At least I didn't get the bouquet of cut flowers I almost bought her! Instinct told me to go for the one with roots as it would last longer.

Today DH is planning to uncover the patio furniture and have a tidy up in readiness for up to six people being able to meet in the garden from Monday. I'll retreat into the greenhouse and sow some more seeds. Monty was sowing Dahlias on GW so I'll get mine sown too.

HannahLoisLuke I loved the bird box you painted.
Well done to Iris for her plans to do a sponsored walk.

Thinking of Auntieflo, dragonfly and her friend, and all who are going through sad and difficult times flowers

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny Essex by the sea. It looks beautiful outside, blue skies and no clouds.
We went to a local supermarket yesterday so DH could buy Easter eggs for his grandchildren and we bumped into both of his daughters, shopping independently. It was a nice surprise as I haven't seen either of them since before Christmas. We stopped for a quick catch up but it was not really the place for a long chat.
No concrete plans today, hopefully get out for a walk later.
Have the best Saturday you can and find a ? xx
