Service as usual in the Argy folks but with the addition of our new roof top tea garden. In the words of the famous Basil Fawlty, no riffraff. ?

grandmajet Fri 09-Apr-21 20:39:12

Are any of Reggie’s rich friends here tonight? Doodle isn’t looking, I might be in with a chance, if I’m quick.

lemongrove Fri 09-Apr-21 20:36:10

Is gorgeous George still in the cellar?

lemongrove Fri 09-Apr-21 20:35:16

Your ok * grandmajet* as you are flat chested nobody noticed.
Still, do yourself up dear before somebody does!

lemongrove Fri 09-Apr-21 20:33:13

No ixion that isn’t Lord L in the corner ( not shifty looking enough) and he never holds himself that way ( anymore.)
So, feel free to throw yourself at this new chap, who knows, he may be minted!

grandmajet Fri 09-Apr-21 20:30:40

I love the Argy Appetisers, I could drink a dozen of them. Oh, I have!
No wonder I was so popular singing my last song, my low backed dress was on back to front!

grandmajet Fri 09-Apr-21 20:24:15

How’s the gravelly voice ixion? It must be you on soon. Take care, they are a rowdy lot tonight, not really tearoom class. The gent on the corner table says he wants to amuse my bouche if I’ll amuse his!

lemongrove Fri 09-Apr-21 20:19:01

Shall I do a turn next?
Right, here I go...... ‘Who wants to be a Millionaire, I do...

lemongrove Fri 09-Apr-21 20:17:05

Sorry...have eaten all the amuse-bouche grandmajet ....any of those horses doovers left?
I’ll have a quick cocktail while am here, a Cabaret Chiller please Thor.?

grandmajet Fri 09-Apr-21 20:13:18

brook’s set went down a storm, they are still on their feet up there, asking to see more of her tapas. It’s my turn now, I’m off to sing ‘Who wants to be a Millionaire’.
Doodle, well?

ixion your canapés have gone down a storm - they love the ones with extra llama spit - they all want to know the recipe. I told them it’s a tearoom secret.

ixion Fri 09-Apr-21 20:11:40

Is he the balding bloke in the corner ogling brook?
Over-tight smoking jacket with a monogrammed breast pocket?
Don't worry, I'll take over a tray of canapés- soon make him bid a hasty exit.

Mind you, to see how he holds himself, I reckon a platter of crudités would be more appropriate.

lemongrove Fri 09-Apr-21 20:11:16

What a shame that dress is so tiny! I mean who in the world is a size 6? A hobbit?
Am a big woman and proud of it!?It’s one of the things that Reggie loves about me ... I can carry a full barrel of poteen under each arm.
Madame Pom Pom will make me a wedding dress, I shall be the belle of the ball when I shimmy up the deck on that glorious May Day.
I hope the yacht won’t sink when we are all on board though.?

lemongrove Fri 09-Apr-21 20:06:35

?
Lord Lemongrove wishes it to be known that he is super grateful for your attentions, but after living with me for 50 years is now only a shadow of the man he was, and is down to his last half crown. He is putting Lemongrove Manor up for sale and buying a bungalow in St Leonards, where he intends to spend his days golfing, fishing and drinking himself into the ground.I did invite him to the wedding but he says he has no intention of dressing up ever again. Ah well, he would probably spoil things anyway by either punching Reggie or trying to get money off him.

AGAA4 Fri 09-Apr-21 19:58:26

I knew it. Doodle has nabbed Lord Lemongrove.

Doodle Fri 09-Apr-21 19:50:40

Hmmm I’d forgotten about Lord Lemongrove. Mind you once Lemon finished with him I doubt he’d be much use.
There’ll be no showing off your tapas in the cabaret Pants this isn’t the Moulin Rogue you know. We could be shut down.
I think I’d better sit next to Lord Lemon, just to make sure he’s well looked after. Lady Doodle has quite a ring to it don’t you think ?

ixion Fri 09-Apr-21 19:47:38

Go brook.
They seem quite a refined lot up there tonight.
Just ignore the brouhaha from downstairs and sing over it all.
Methinks the Wrens have just pitched up☹️

brook2704 Fri 09-Apr-21 19:45:18

Congratulations lemon a May wedding ... how absolutely perfect! I’ve never been a bridesmaid before so thank you so much for the invitation ?
I’m just about ready for the cabaret now ... wish me luck!

AGAA4 Fri 09-Apr-21 19:44:42

With servants and a few carriages

ixion Fri 09-Apr-21 17:26:12

How rich is he? Just asking for a friend.
So it's yacht versus stately home? ?

AGAA4 Fri 09-Apr-21 17:21:54

Lord Lemongrove is up for grabs now lemon has ditched him. One of us could become a Lady hmm

Pantglas2 Fri 09-Apr-21 17:00:20

I don’t doubt it Grandmajet, he was always rather fond of my flamencos ? and clicking castanets.

Then, when I brought my tapas out, he’d be licking his lips and his eyes would be out on stalks....?

grandmajet Fri 09-Apr-21 16:51:14

Those canapes look delicious, ixion. One of the llamas ate a couple, but they obviously weren’t to her taste as she spat them out - I wiped them with a tissue so they’ll be fine.
I’ve made a selection of amuse-bouche and a few sacks of pork scratchings so we have covered all tastes.
Looking forward to our first cabaret night. Will Lord Lemongrove be here? He may need comforting, I’m sure pants will cheer him up!

AGAA4 Fri 09-Apr-21 15:46:10

I am a size 6 ixion! ....er ... think that may be my shoe size.

AGAA4 Fri 09-Apr-21 15:43:23

grandmajet I will arrange for lemon to have several bouquets so a few of us get a chance unless doodle catches all of them. She will want to be sure of the next wedding being hers.

AGAA4 Fri 09-Apr-21 15:40:20

So exciting. A May wedding! I will ask Thor to run me up a nice golden coloured dress. I still have the curtains I pinched from Lemongrove Manor so we can use those.
Whatever happened to Lord Lemongrove after Lemon deserted him for Rich Reggie? Last time I saw him he was crying into his poteen.

ixion Fri 09-Apr-21 15:06:57

lemon I wonder whether you might be better off with just the diamond encrusted sleeveless over garment, as, regrettably, the frock is not a size 26 but a size 6?
I may be good with the needle, but can't work miracles.
We'll see how tonight goes.

I have made some canapés for tonight's bash. I will leave them on the floor as sadly plastic tray liners are no longer available, I believe.
Perhaps some one could rescue them before the llamas sniff them out - and that won't be long, if the aromatic fragrances pong is anything to go by.

Just off to work on the gravelly timbre ??.
You were right about the dodgy Cubans. I have filched the Admirals 'Capstan Navy Cut'. I seem to have developed a slight, er, cough.
