Service as usual in the Argy folks but with the addition of our new roof top tea garden. In the words of the famous Basil Fawlty, no riffraff. ?

Just a few finishing touches.
Brook, you look wonderful. So refained, perfect. I hope everyone is making such an effort.
We must keep the llamas under control, they may tuck into the laydees’ fascinators.

I’ve spent most of the morning in my boudoir pampering myself and getting ready for later... I’m almost done now just slipping on the stilettos and dabbing on the Chanel..

grandmajet Thu 01-Apr-21 10:37:01

This must be the most exciting day since the first moon landing.
I’ve started applying my subtle makeup, should be ready in a few hours, ready to greet the laydees wot lunch.

Just a few finishing touches to plan Pantglas2.
I have arranged for the laddie on his Meeja Studies course from the Run Down Reporter to cover us. So to speak.
We do, however, need a Sleb to judge the bonnet comp.Any suggestions? All I could think of was the lady from the dress shop you talk about. We could say that she is a famous fashion designer offering an apprenticeship to the lucky winner?

Pantglas2 Thu 01-Apr-21 07:14:55

Is it today? The grand opening? I hope so as I’ve just passed my course - Idiots Guide to Being a Laydee with flying colours- my tutor said she’d never had a student like me before...?

My frock has been darned after norty Doodle stood on the hem when we was practicing the Military Twostep and I’ve been memorising my thank you speech for when I win the Best Bonnet competition!

Haven’t actually made it yet but there’s a few feathers around from when Tiddles caught the collared dove that foolishly wandered through the Argy backyard!

See you on the ice...

Lemon looks so peaceful sleeping in her cosy chair, she must be exhausted after coping with all those problems today. I’ve put a spare llama blanket over her and tiptoed out.

grandmajet I think you’ve been watching too much Line of Duty ?
Wellness centre, I love it. Me and the llamas could have a nice soak in a hot tub. Will we have a sauna too?
I hope we make plenty of money from the Tea room. We will need it for all these expansions.
Perhaps lemon and Reggie (when he gets out ?) could offer cruises on their yacht for some of our more classy guests. They could go up and down the canal behind the sewage works between the gas works and the recycling centre. ?

ixion Wed 31-Mar-21 20:20:24

Ah, brook. The hot tub forms part of our next exciting development - the Argy Wellness Spa.
Hoping that grandmajet 's fit waiters will be retained for additional rolls rôles.

brook2704 Wed 31-Mar-21 19:13:42

Not sure about the pond but I’d really like a hot tub on the roof ...

grandmajet Wed 31-Mar-21 17:27:33

Are you sure those cute little birds are chicks, ixion? They are all swimming on the pond.

grandmajet Wed 31-Mar-21 17:15:02

I’ll have a chat with my old mucker DCI Nick Kerr, shh, but he has a CHIS buried in the local OCG and may be able to deflect any action away from the Argy and towards their activities. I believe they’re planning a ‘big one’ any day now.

AGAA4 Wed 31-Mar-21 16:51:30

The llamas made the pond. It is their watering hole.

AGAA4 Wed 31-Mar-21 16:49:44

lemon I don't know how you are going to manage on so little.
Bathing in champagne may have to go soon and your own personal sock drawer assistant.

lemongrove Wed 31-Mar-21 16:49:00

You made a pond in the back yard?? ?

ixion Wed 31-Mar-21 16:48:18

How competent is the Admiral these days with his handling skills?
Could he sail it round the block for a few days in extremis ?

AGAA4 Wed 31-Mar-21 16:47:18

We could put it on the duck pond at the back of the Argy. nobody ever goes there, not even the ducks.

lemongrove Wed 31-Mar-21 16:47:17

Nope, we have hidden the yacht behind a tanker, they won’t get their hands on it easily.
We may need to make a quick getaway today, but thanks for the kind offer of the cellar Doodle, if we need it we will bring our own lilos.
A seafaring life has it’s ups and downs but I love Reggie to bits,
True love indeed eh? Even if he is down to his last ten million quid.

Doodle Wed 31-Mar-21 16:42:06

Well we can’t hide that in the cellar too can we ?

ixion Wed 31-Mar-21 16:41:06

Crikey - they're not going to take the yacht away, are they?

Doodle Wed 31-Mar-21 16:39:20

Fear not lemon the Argy is just as you left it and will be serving poteen and mouse dropping caviar as usual.
The tea room is on the roof. A way of capturing two types of punters. The laydees upstairs and the rest down.
You will be able to rest your weary bones in your cosy chair.
I had heard Reggie was in a spot of bother with the law. If you need a hideaway, you can always use the cellar if you don’t mind sharing with the llamas. ?

AGAA4 Wed 31-Mar-21 16:37:48

The first prize is usually some sort of firearm.

AGAA4 Wed 31-Mar-21 16:35:52

I keep away since I was passing in my micro skirt, 6 inch heels and boob tube and they started throwing potatoes at me.
I picked the potatoes up for the poteen but I had some nasty bruises from the nasty bruisers.

lemongrove Wed 31-Mar-21 16:32:58

I will say though AGA ( in their defence) they always do the raffle before the fight.

lemongrove Wed 31-Mar-21 16:30:13

It’s true that they’re a rough lot mind you, nothing like us!
They despise high heels and low cut frocks, feather boas are anathema to them and they positively hate glitter....approach the Dockside W.I with great caution.

AGAA4 Wed 31-Mar-21 16:29:58

I've seen all three in there. Not that I would really go in there blush
