Someone, on this or another thread suggested Harry was making his programmes to help others; ''if it happens to me it can happen to anyone. This may be so, but he is not a skilled presenter or interviewee and his words are very open to interpretation.
The point is, he is following exactly the same route as his mother when she engaged with the duplicitous Martin Bashir, leading to ridiculous conspiracy theories, heightening her paranoia and devastating Prince William. Participating in television programmes with trashy presenters is not going to improve anyone's mental health.

I don't think it was criticising his career, just about if he was well enough for his and others safety. My husband was a police officer and qualified as a firearms officers, I know the police were very careful about people's mental health. Killing people can take a toll on the most robust people, if someone has some issues it might not be the best thing in the long run. Every employer has a duty of care to employees so it has to be considered.

It is like Harry being upset he was brought home when it became known that he was out there. He hated that but he was putting others in danger because he was a target, not his fault but it was still relevant. Sometimes these things get complicated.

Ridiculoso (??) or not, trisher, I am not talking about post service activities or jobs, I am talking about the inner person. ie the journey they go on as an individual while in the army.
My SiL's post military activities are now as far from the military as they possibly could be, but the training, team work, camaraderie and respect he learned remain with him. We can all choose to use our experiences in a positive way.

What I did say is that he could have learned from his experiences in the army- both tough and good - and drawn on them.
How do you know he didn't?
He set up the Invictus games. He was a valued and active supporter of ex-servicemen. He is still valued by many of his military colleagues.

Jane same here. Victoria and Spencer and their relationship must have struck a chord somehow.

Gosh that comment about Victoria is awful I always remember how she had so many children so quickly and really didn't seem well and I'd have been quite young myself at the time isn't it funny what you remember?

My SiL was in Afghanistan around the same time as Harry and it was the making of him. He proudly displays his medals. BUT like Harry that was over 15 years ago and time marches on. Unlike Harry, however, our SiL has sensibly taken all the good things from this experience and applied them to his life which is now happy and fulfilled.

Honestly if people want to criticise they really should find out what they are talking about first. H talks about his army career, how the routine and discipline made him feel safe. He also points out that many of the recruits come from damaged backgrounds and that their experiences afterwards are similar to his. How Meghan knows what he was feeling then I have no idea.
People who have mental health problems can and do hold down difficult and demanding jobs in many areas and do so very successfully (ever heard of Alistair Campbell?). They tend to manage outside events but at great personal cost sometimes self medicating with alcohol or drugs in their leisure time.

That is vile, I'd never heard that. What a horrible man. I hope she is OK, I don't really know anything about him or her, was the very attractive girl at Harry's wedding their daughter? She was a stunner.

Mollygo the thing for me is the truth seems a bit flexible for Harry. William persuaded him to go into therapy, no his family wouldn't support that so Meghan got him into therapy, various first words for baby, wedding was private 3 days before we thought it was, oh no it was when we thought it was.

None of it matters to me really but I've had a couple of people in my life who were compulsive liars and it just gets a bit annoying to listen to people when you are always wondering if this is the real version and if you will hear another version tomorrow.
