It's semantics and sophistry Callistemon Had you asked anyone during WW2 if they hated Hitler what do you suppose they would have said?
Now Mrs Thatcher may have been a loving wife and mother but as I didn't know her I can only judge by what she did to other people and sorry if you don't like it but I hated her for it. Is it possible to seperate the person from the deed? Should we say Pol Pot was just a product of his upbringing and not blame him for the atrocities? At some point personal responsibility has to come into it. I'm not zen enough to adopt the idea that we should accept anything from anyone. I don't believe civilisation was built by people who thought everyone had to be loved. In fact I strongly suspect that turning the other cheek has sometimes prevented the progress of equality (Do you think it's worth a thread?)

I don't think everyone should be loved at all. That would be impossible and ridiculous.

Dislike, abhorrence of someone's deeds etc. is one thing and
if one was married to an abusive husband who was a regular wife beater then yes, hate could be the right emotion because you know them.

As for Harry and Meghan I think those that think he's gone too far, ( the haters?) possibly are more empathetic and feel for the hurt being caused to the RF.

I was listening to a story today about a father who abducted his own children, they were never found, the mother has not seen her children for 33 years, I hated a man I had never met as I listened. Human emotion is frequently unpredictable.

William must surely be hurt by the attacks on his father and grandmother and the use of his mother to make money and become a celebrity

I hate Boris Johnson and I've never met him. The only other person I hate is the girl who bullied my daughter at school.

Anyone who can publicly worry and deeply upset their 95 year old, recently widowed grandmother who loves them, not once but again and again in order to make big money, must be a pretty cruel person. It's almost unbelievable that anyone however agrieved, could sink to these depths of vicious behaviour. When I think of my own grandmother and remember how fond she was of me, to have stabbed her in the hack would have been beyond awful. I find Harry's behaviour incomprehensible and dreadful.

That would be no bad thing!

Airing family and personal grievances in the public eye would be horrible for any family and would be frowned upon most of us on here regardless of political affiliation, but when it's also attached to making megga bucks, surely that sinking to a new low? Vendettas are always extremely unpleasant whatever the grievance , public ones especially so.

What a strange viewpoint. That somehow posters who don’t trash H and M must be anti RF, opposed to the monarchy.
Many of the posters in what’s simply seen as team H and M, have no problem with the RF.
The problem is with the nonsensical suggestion that ‘one side’ in this is all bad and the other all good.
