Aka 'Guilty Pleasures'

Hello Everyone! ?

Inspired by someone (who will remain nameless) who includes Pretty Woman in her list of all-time favourite films hmm

It can be anything: food; TV; books...

I'll get the crappy ball rolling with Super Noodles (chicken flavour); Celebrity Big Brother (RIP); and the Agatha Raisin books (complete and utter badly written drivel)
Oh, and I can't miss out The Daily Mail (subscription holder blush)

Come on, what are yours?

Thank you! smilethanks

Pretty Woman.
Bridgerton. You can tell where my mind is!

DH is an endless watcher of antique programmes, Great Antiques Hunt, Flog it, Antiques road show. To be fair we do run a small antiques stall as a hobby which we take to carboot sales and the occasional antique fair.

What rubbish do the men in your lives watch?
Mine loves the gold diggers in Alaska; and also the police 'reality' nonsense.

Anything with Pawn in the title. Such a mix of people who think they can spot value but can’t and those who don’t realise how much things are worth.

I used to enjoy Kim & Aggie.
Apparently they didn't get on at all.
Wife Swap was great too, especially the celebrity ones!
Rich House; Poor House is quite a good substitute for that sort of voyeuristic pleasure! smile

Witzend Wed 26-May-21 10:35:31

I used to love ‘How Clean Is Your House?’ which IMO really ought to have been called, ‘At least yours isn’t nearly as bad as this one!’

Ideal for making loathers of housework like me, feel even less guilty about it than we already did.

Witzend Wed 26-May-21 10:31:41

Pretty Woman is IMO worth it just for the bit where he takes her back to the shop where snooty assistants had shunned her - and makes them suck up to her!
Love it.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with cold mushy peas, let's face it we have all had a tough year. Coleslaw is yummy and along with baked beans makes a yummy sandwich.

I have to fess up in dark moments I often turn to Barry Mannilo.

Lexisgranny Tue 25-May-21 23:28:35

Cold mushy peas ( I truly, truly hang my head in shame!!!) I have not even admitted this to my husband.

Chestnut Tue 25-May-21 23:19:49

I used to watch Kim and Aggie and sometimes watch those hoarding programmes. I just can't believe how people can live in such filth and not even able to reach their bed or bath.
Kim and Aggie used to get the place spotless which was lovely!

Guilty pleasure -
Say yes to the dress!

If others can admit to Homes under the Hammer, I can admit to Location, Location, Location. Doing the ironing is my excuse as well!

I had col slaw with a salad at a Lyons Corner House in the 1950s (I remember because I had never had it before). It can't be posh.

trisher Tue 25-May-21 12:47:22

I've just realised that I watch practically every programme that is someone's favourite. Maybe I just have no taste!
A Place in the Sun is a long term favourite.
It was overtalken by the Australian Married at First sight for a bit.
Homes under the Hammer I've watched forever.
I always thought coleslaw was healthy (and a bit posh!)
Marmite crisps.
White toast with real butter.
The seven sisters books as well (Amazing how such rubbish can grip you)
Greggs cheese pasty

Witzend Tue 25-May-21 12:34:24

Longdistancegranny, I used to watch HUTH while doing the ironing, too.
I hardly iron anything any more, though.

MayBee70 Tue 25-May-21 12:27:51

Longdistancegrnny

Aldi Giant Caramel buttons - eaten in the car on the way home from getting the shopping (they are NOT the same when eaten at home!); Homes Under the Hammer - I justify that by doing the ironing while I watch.

They were actually planning to scrap Homes under the Hammer! I mean, what planet were they on. Sacrilege!

Yorki Tue 25-May-21 09:13:47

Oh.... I also adore Cillian Murphy on Peaky blinders

Yorki Tue 25-May-21 09:11:37

My favourites are :The inbetweeners "I know" childish, but it has me in stitches. Columbo is my fave detective drama. I love Tom and Jerry. My favourite comfort food is, cheese n pineapple toastie and a banana milk shake. I would also love a dolls house.

Chestnut Mon 24-May-21 23:46:46

This isn't really rubbish, but definitely a guilty pleasure.
The video of:
I'm Too Sexy by Right said Fred!

Kate1949 Mon 24-May-21 20:18:29
