Is any charity shops (or similar) that are accepting spectacles?

There was a thread on this subject a few months ago I think. Pre-Covid we used to donate them at the opticians but neither of us have had new prescriptions since March 2020 so I don't know what's happening now.

We ve had this thread before as far as I know there are not many places taking any more My charity shop no longer takes them and the high street opticians that I used to take to no longer take them maybe worth a try in your high street but mine isn’t, boots aren’t taking either

My GP surgery take them, or did, pre-Covid. Specsavers did too.

I have taken them to our local opticians recently and in turn they are then collected by the local Rotary Club or Round Table. It might be an idea to contact them direct.

Informan we do not need two threads on this subject- please ask for them to be amalgamated.

Specsavers and many other high street opticians take them in and they go off to an overseas charity I think

Make some phone calls to local opticians? That could be a start. Shame that specs should go to landfill.

There used to be a tub for old specs in our Specsavers, pre covid, but I don't know if it's still there.
