Good Morning Everyone,
I am up early , but its dry and bright outside here in Brackley .
My reason for being early , i need to catch a bus at 0645 in order to connect with another at Bicester to make an appointment at the JR in Oxford outpatients , its link with cardiac so expecting the treadmill .
As to returning after appointment will again depend on bus timings as I want to watch the Giro cycle race drama unfold in its last 3 days .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from the Scottish Borders where the sun is shining but there is still a chill in the air.
Ofcourse we need to see you Marydoll
I'm taking DMiL to the Highlands today. I am quite nervous but it has been a plan for a while.
Before that I must replenish stocks of tablet see Marydoll
. It is a major component of DMiL's diet.
I will try to pick up a wee gift for the bairns too.
Elder DGC, aged 6, was visibly disappointed when she looked at my toy store for the first time in a year as in her words it was baby things

Happy Friday everyone. Including Gillybob if you are around.

Good morning Mick, and good luck with your appointment today. Morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s still looking a little grey outside.

The traffic yesterday wasn’t bad so we made good time driving to the capital and luckily the same on the return journey. DoutL had signed the four year old up for gymnastics classes for little ones but because the staff aren’t allowed to touch the children there has to be an adult who can help the child use the equipment so it’s a real Grandma hands on class for me. The warm up exercises did me good, I should really get back to Joe Wicks on YouTube. Photo taken outside the leisure centre.

Today is my swanky charity shop day, DH reminds me every week to be on the lookout for Ancient Greek artifacts - poor deluded man!

I’m sending my good wishes to everyone especially those who have been ill this week, I hope today is a peaceful one. thanks

Gingster Fri 28-May-21 08:29:34

DH has just found my crystal ! It was tucked away in a pocket In my large bag. I checked that bag three times ?. I’m so relieved, I could cry. Lots of brownie points for DH. ?

Keep safe and well folks ???

Greyduster Fri 28-May-21 08:21:18

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a rather indifferent South Yorkshire weatherwise. The sun has not got his hat on. Hope your appointment goes okay today, Mick.
We had a day out walking yesterday and lunch! In a pub! Today DH has an appointment with the dental hygienist, poor chap, and I have a curry to make for tomorrow when DS is joining us for an overnight stay.
Have a pleasant day, folks, and stay safe.

Good morning from Cheshire. I had a night like that toograndMattie - so annoying when you can't sleep. Best wishes to your SIL*Susan56*-we never stop worrying about adult children and family members. Pleased to know you still have your sense of humourMarydoll and will be writing again soon.
Will be back later to read more posts after a quick trip to Waitrose for bits and pieces.

ginny Fri 28-May-21 08:07:41

Good morning all. A bit overcast at the moment but hopefully sunshine later.
Yesterday’s weather was lovely and we got our planting done.
DD3 and SIL report no side effects from their jabs yesterday other than slightly sore arms so my nursing skills are not required today.
Will do our weekly local food shop this afternoon as we are out all day tomorrow , a bit of housework and a walk.
Good to hear from Marydoll.
Thoughts with all who are troubled in any way.
Hope you all find a ? today.

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Summer is here!!
A surveyor is coming to measure up for some outside work this morning.

We might be tempted to break no mow May #lazygran as it's grown bits that are knee high and it's now nice enough to sit out.

Sending love and sunshine to all x

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s bright and dry. Yesterday turned out a beautiful day, warm and sunny so I was very happy pottering in the garden.
I hope your hospital appointment goes well today Mick
Lovely pictures thank you Ash and what a lovely view from your bedroom window!
We’re away to Rothiemurchus this weekend, it’s just near Aviemore in the Cairngorms. Lots of walking in the mountains and picnics by the lochs I expect so I hope the weather stays good.
That’s a worry about your SiL susan hope he’s ok and hope you’re firmly back on your two feet soon dwm
It’s good to see you back marydoll but sorry you’ve had such a rough week.
Safe travels everyone, there’s so many outings and meet ups just now, what a difference to a few weeks ago and great to see.
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Morning from cloudy S Lanarkshire. I’ve been wakened for around two hours, which is unusual for me, and I’ve just realised it’s Friday, not Saturday. A good start.

My garden room builder came yesterday with no bad news, so hopefully things will happen on that front in three weeks or so.
He did say that building materials, particularly timber are about to be in very short supply and therefore more expensive but he has already ordered the material for my job.

Weather forecast for this area isn’t wonderful for today but good for the rest of the weekend so hoping everyone has a pleasant few days, especially those who have been feeling poorly or down. ??

hollysteers Fri 28-May-21 07:49:34

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers, northwest Lancashire coast. I’m off to the optician soon and it will be strange, no one has been so close to me for a long while. The Indian variant and possibility of a further delay is depressing.
Anyhoo will return some white trousers to M and S. my waistline has expanded through lockdown but I think I’m not the only one watching passers by stripped off in the sun on my day trip on Wednesday ?
Tried to not put much pressure on my wonky knee yesterday, so hopefully it’s on the mend.
Hope your connections work out Mick and thoughts to Marydoll , grandmajet, Cherry Auntieflo and anyone with troubles or worries.

Gingster Fri 28-May-21 07:48:56

Good morning all and it seems lots of you are up early after a restless night. The light mornings wake me and I fidget for a while until I give in and get up.

Yesterday was glorious. We picked the right day to go to the Olympic Park with its lovely parkland and gardens. My two old school pals and I just wandered and chatted then lunched until 6 o’clock. Train home and Asleep in the armchair by 9. ?.?
This morning I unpacked my bag and can’t find the gift my friend gave me. A beautiful crystal! It was in a small box and I put it safely into my large bag. It definitely isn’t there! I’m so upset. I will phone the train company but hold out little hope. ?. How could I be so careless! ?

Today we will meet up with other old friends at a pub for lunch. The men in the group were all at school together, so there will be a lot of chat. Lovely !

Nice to hear from Marydoll . Hope you feel brighter soon.

Urms I know what you mean by escaping now and again and being ‘off the radar’, so to speak. Suddenly my diary is filling up again after so much peace and quiet with no demand on our time. Oh dear, I do sound selfish too. ?

Sar have a lovely day on the boat. Enjoy the peace .

Dwm I hope your ankle improves. ?

Mick I hope your early morning travel went well.

Wishing you all a good day whatever you are up to. ????

Jaxjacky Fri 28-May-21 07:31:12

Good morning all from a cloudy S Hants, a rude awakening earlier, I stubbed my little toe on the ensuite door frame, ouch!
I have lamb to pickup up, curry to make and planting to be done. We had a lovely lunch in a beautiful pub garden yesterday, the weather was glorious.
Good luck with the hospital Mick. Susan ?for your SIL too and Harrigran with your DH meds.
Marydoll of course we care! Thanks for posting, Hoping Cherry has had a good night and grandmajet is recovering well.
Have a gentle day all.

Grandmabatty Fri 28-May-21 07:23:36

Good morning all. It's sunny in Polmont today which lifts my spirits. I'm working as a drama queen today so I'll have to get moving. Thank you for all the congratulations yesterday. They are very much appreciated. It's good to see you back Marydoll. Ashcombe some lovely photos. Mick I hope the tests go well. Have a good day all.

Alygran Fri 28-May-21 07:21:33

Good morning from North Yorkshire. High cloud about but I think it will stay dry..at least till my hair appointment later.
Last day for the decorators today. Downstairs is just about finished so bedroom and en-suite to complete. There’s a bit of outdoor painting to do too as they found parts of the door surround rotten yesterday so replaced it.
Today’s plan includes lots of bits of jobs to leave everything okish before I head off to see my daughters for the weekend.
I’ll do the final bit of sorting when I am home next week.
I had my state pension application letter yesterday so logged on last night and claimed it. It was a very quick process so I hope it all gets sorted for September.
Hope the poorly people are feeling better. Thoughts too for all of you with poorly family members and other things that keep you awake at night and worried in the day.
Take care and stay safe.

MawBe Fri 28-May-21 07:17:41

Good morning from N Bucks where I hope we too are going to share in the lovely weather.
Hairdresser this morning then lunch out with friends - which I am really looking forward to.
Lots of families will be taking advantage of the BH and half term and after the rotten months we/they have all had, I hope it stays fine for all of them. So much less risk to anybody if they can be out in the fresh air, on the beach or enjoying outdoor sport. Remember the benefits of the vit D!
Good luck with the JR Mick although you’ll be on your way by now.

Nannytopsy Fri 28-May-21 07:15:08

Good morning Mick and all his followers. Good luck with your hospital trip Mick.
As we left Norfolk yesterday the sun came out and we sat in our garden in the sun when we got home. Off to see DD Sat/Sun and some friends phoned last night to ask if they can come to us Sun/Mon. Mad house sorting and shopping today then!
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

Urmstongran Fri 28-May-21 07:14:22

Yes hope all goes well at the John Radcliffe Mick.
Hi Marydoll ?

Gelisajams Fri 28-May-21 07:14:21

Good morning from Scarborough where it feels much warmer again. The trees here have not all got their summer coat on yet so I assume it’s been quite cold here this last couple of months. Maybe they will leaf up now it’s warmer.
We will be packing up and setting of for home as soon as we have had breakfast. I hope the roads are not to busy. Quite a few families arrived here last night ahead of the bank holiday. I suspect there may be a few children absent from school today.
Hope Marydoll is feeling a bit , no a lot, better today and is up to her tricks! Also thinking of others who are much below par.?
Stay safe everyone and take care ???

cornergran Fri 28-May-21 07:11:07

Morning Mick, morning All from a cloudy corner of Somerset

Looks like we had some overnight rain, not a bad thing, it will help settle the plants yesterday’s attempts to bring order. The sunshine kept us outside much too long for our bodies I fear. Oops. A much less arduous day ahead. We’ll take a poorly neighbour for her hair appointment and sit with a coffee until she’s ready. This afternoon I’m meeting a friend to test out a new cafe in a garden centre leaving Mr C with what I am sure will be a welcome empty for a quiet afternoon.

Hope that appointment goes well Mick. Look after yourselves everyone. Hope Friday is kind to us all especially those with health struggles or worries of any kind.

grandMattie Fri 28-May-21 07:09:56

Thank you for your post. Marydoll. Hope you find your mojo soon. ???

Marydoll Fri 28-May-21 07:05:55

Good morning all from Glasgow. Just letting you know, (if you are interested ), ? I am still alive, ? after what has been a really rough week. No need to fret, I will be back soon with a vengeance and a cornucopia of novellas! Well, perhaps not, my activities have been somewhat limited!

Thinking of all our posters who are struggling and thank you to those who sent good wishes. ?
Good luck with treadmill Mick, I managed to escape that torture, as it would have probably finished me off completely! ?

Sar53 Fri 28-May-21 07:04:39

Good morning from another sunny day in Essex by the sea. The forecast is for good weather for the next week. A sunny bank holiday weekend means loads of tourists, busy roads and no social distancing.
Today I am going to help DH on his boat, there is still a lot of work to do. We take our lunch with us and sit outside where it is very peaceful.
DD2 and family are off to Devon tomorrow for a week and DD1 and family are off to Centre Parcs on Monday, I'm pleased they will have great weather.
Have a fabulous Friday everyone and find that ? xx
