Let’s all be nasty about a newborn eh?

No-one is being nasty about the baby, just wondering about the parents using the Queen's pet name after maligning her as a mother and trashing her whole family. Appropriate?
The baby will be gorgeous, though we'll probably never see her, and the name is lovely.

My first husband and I were dressed like this for a Palace Garden Party in 2011. Faces removed for anonymity! I wore a matching fascinator.

I would think they did . To me it signifies that harry may think there have been problems (on both sides obviously) but he still loves his grandmother. Could we not look at it that way ?

Apart from which it’s quite a pretty name and will seemingly be shortened to Lilli.

Using your grandmother's very personal nickname for your child's name, after you have maligned her and her family so publicly, to me smacks of something very unpleasant.
It also signifies a reinforcement of royal connections.

I adore Craig Brown. He is such a clever writer. He wrote a really unusual biography of Princess Margaret, which is one of my all time favourite books.
I can't recommend it enough. It's very gossipy about all kinds of famous people from the latter half of the twentieth century.

The whole concept of 'comfortable' shoes, clothes, undies is very much a feminist issue isn't it.

FannyC I will be wearing a pair of my favourite Merrells Kids hydro beach sandals. They’re one of the few things I can walk in! I have them in both purple and navy blue. I have a photo of me wearing them at a niece’s wedding but I can’t find where I saved it so here’s one from an advert.

My nieces assure me I always look like the coolest person in a crowd, I think it’s because my feet are never hurting (and I don’t care what other people think).
