Good Evening Sunday

Good Evening Sunday;
Nothing exciting to report again! Unless you find “One new Covid case in Victoria” sufficiently exciting to occupy 30 minutes of TV news time delivered by a State official backed by the States Chief medical officer, seemingly at times with different opinions on what we should do! That can lead to both being ignored.
Now they are jumping up and down (again) about VIC being able to manufacture a new vaccine, with trial results not expected until next year!
It‘s a similar situation to our efforts to develop our owh submarines, not good, when proven off-the-shelf subs are available from France.

Sydney hitting “cluster” problems again, with the newer, more virulent Covid variants popping up all over the place. which raises the risk of sudden border closures; not good if you’re trapped on the wrong side and need to get home! I suppose that is excitement of a sort!

To more pleasant things

Yes rafichagran It was an amazing marriage in that it lasted 62 years before Cancer did us part! Vera survived only 3 months after diagnosis.
We were opposites in several ways; She was very compassionate, although that didn’t stop her saying I wasn’t, never drank other than the odd sip of Pimms when celebrating something or other, never smoked and religiously stuck to healthy diets when cooking or eating out!
Vera went first, showing how unfair life can be at times, but she would have approved of my continued efforts at jokes; some of them anyway, but definitely not medical ones!

I see the England v Scotland game has left quite a lot of arguments in it’s wake .concerning the clean-up. Nothing new there!

Aveline Obviously things will take time to re-adjust; as Megs says, they felt they were “too old” to take on another and I had the same decision when our dog Jessie died. 5 years ago, but I still “see” her in her favourite resting places and even talk to her when decisions have to be made! hmm

Weather still so-so! Temp range 3C to 15C with 50/50 cloud cover; occasional light showers!

No2 Son is having a new hip replacement on Thursday. He’s the serious one and does my weekly shopping; he gave me a stern lecture yesterday about my apparent relaxed approach as to who’s taking over his role for 6 weeks.
He’s forbidden me to ask our kind elderly neighbour, which I hadn’t planned on doing anyway, but when I said if she asks if she can get me anything he blew his top and told me to decline!
Wow! Completely different to his relaxed brother, in Brisbane! You couldn’t believe they “came out of the same pod! grin
Tempus Fugit!

Good Evening Rufus you never get two the same, they are individuals, perhaps son 1 was more like his Mother.
62 years, and you still loved her. I think that is lovely.
Anyway I have to leave it there as I am in a cafe having a coffee and a snack and have to get on.
Enjoy the football. I know I do.

Gosh Rufus2 your news broadcasts sound fun. I'm missing Jonathan Van Tamm. He's the boy when you want to hear it like it is!
We're still recovering from yesterday's shock but have decided to have one more kitten. The family all love cats and have assured us that they would take over any left when we become 'estates' as our solicitor calls it. There'll be a wait for a couple of months though until after my hip op. Hope your son's op goes well next week. He sounds like a nice responsible person. Good on him (as I gather you say in Oz!)

Hi Rufus, what a lovely long marriage, you must miss Vera too.
Football precipitates all sort of ‘discussions’…
Done a bit up the allotment, very muddy, got some sprout and savoy plants in. Off to the local in a minute, return of the weekly meat draw, another bit of normality, as it looks like rain, I’ll drive.it’s a good excuse to say no thanks when some won’t take no for an answer, if MrJ fancies another one he can walk back later while I get on with dinner, I can also keep an eye on the Italy v Wales game in peace. Isn’t it funny when our children do that! We had family here for a bbq yesterday, it was marvellous to see them all, a bit nippy though, my son was coming over all grown up with me, I suppose he is 30.
Take care ?

Rufus 62 years, such a long time, will be 61 this year for us as you know. Someone told me that your memories will always be yours and stay with you forever, I guess our children are the real memories too.
Glad your ‘boys’ look after you, and tell you what to do !!
I try not to save stuff to do when ours come here, Hate to say. ‘Don’t want to be a burden’ , horrible expression ????
Cheers ???????.
