“Plague of Mouses closes Prison!
Yes! An infestation of mouses has forced the evacuation of 420 prisoners
from a prison in Wellington NSW to alternative accommodation, because nibbled electric cables were deemed to be a safety hazard!
That’s about all the excitement I can call on!

Covid in NSW is is becoming an increasing threat and causing all sorts of problems for authorities as all Eastern States begin 2 weeks school holidays on Friday and families in Victoria usually head North to the Sunshine State.
Of course, all the businesses associated with holiday visitors are anxious about potential loss of customers.
Naturally they are fed up with the continuous stop-go economy affecting their income, especially at peak season times.

England finished top! Good on them! Hope to find some of their games on TV.

Happy solstice!? Will be some time before we see any benefit from longer days and no way am I tripping the light fantastic in the morning dew. Too cold, 5C and not interested in copping a broken hip or two!
Ian is off to hospital tomorrow. Not sure whether he’ll be in a single room what with Pandemic conditions and all that.
I prefer some company for chatting! A double is OK provided he doesn’t snore!
The toilet roster can be easy to handle too, but any more you have to keep tabs on whose likely to go next!
Noisy visitors with even noisier off-spring shouldn’t be a problem just now!
Hope he enjoys his food!

We had Baldrick on TV again this evening continuing his 6 cathedrals series; Durham this time! Very impressive, of course!
One thing about these series is how the presenter is always able to confide
(hush, hush) that we have been given special priviliges to go into areas not normally accessible by the Riff-Raff, as Basil would say!
And when they’ve climbed the 1,000 steps to the bell tower (puff-puff), who’s already there to greet them but the camera crew with all the camera gear.!
Still, it all makes good viewing!

Caused some excitement last night, having spent the evening trying to sort out (unsuccessfully) a printer problem! I finally crawled into bed at 2.00am sat on my security pendant and next thing the security company telephoned to ask if I was OK!
It turned out she had tried to contact me earlier, so had phoned my two lady neighbours who are listed as emergencies who are then supposed to call round to check me out.
Fortunately I was able to call back to cancel all that and it’s nice to know the system works. Don’t think the neighbours would have thanked me for causing them to turn out at 2.00am on a cold Winter’s night only to find me tucked up in bed’
Not that they would; an ambulance crew would have had that pleasure!
We’re all still good friends! smile
Good Health wine wine wine

Well that was a very full update on goings on down under. Odd place to wear your security pendant but I suppose you must have your reasons!
That plague of mice sounds awful. I was just reading about it today.
It's our residents association AGM tonight. Masks to be worn and wine to be provided. That'll be hard to manage. I'll make a bendy straw arrangement - only way to get through a boring AGM.

?Good Evening Rufus2 from a very sunny warm Cornwall UK?
I very nearly posted a few days days ago when you were talking about names. Vera was my mother's name. Family fondly called her V.
I and MrM are regularly fighting over the mouse traps here. I need them for my strawbs. He for his Land Rover Discovery and an old caravan we use as an overflow storage area. The Disco packed up once. Cutting out and alarm bells ringing whilst driving. Diagnostic machines found no faults. MrM, as he is, stripped some of electrics back and found nibbled wires. Problem solved. We used to store our wetsuits in the caravan. That was until MrM found his suit full of holes ?

I've fond memories of Baldrick and his turnip?

I'm sure I'll pop back here again.

Hi Rufus, them pesky meeces, hate them to pieces! Printers are nearly as annoying, but at least inanimate, very in your case.
Yes, England won! The first half was good, proper football, the second we were defending with little action, but a win’s a win.
I hope Ian’s hospital visit is uneventful and he’s home in a jiffy with a new hip.
Sun, cloud and about 20 here, it was a bit cool last night, normal for June really.
The greenhouse is looking lush, tomatoes, cucumber, aubergines, peppers, chillies and a melon plant, just need it to stay bug free and keep watering. The allotment is slowly getting there, hopefully be digging some new spuds up in a few weeks.
More footie tonight, then a two day break, England play again next Tuesday.
Take care ?

Found this Aveline cheers!

Hi! again. Printer problem solved and it's only 12.50am Thursday! Canon supplied new drivers!
Jaxjacky your new greenhouse must look like the Eden Project! I assume you've now sloshed whitewash or whatever on the windows to keep out the fierce sun rays
I was tempted to show Ian that pic. involving the zebra hip replacement, but remembered Vera ear-bashing me about making jokes of medical matters. Definitely a "No-Go" zone!.
And we've also Aveline to consider, although the flippant remark about my pendant position is beyond the pail pale!
Your turn next Aveline so just watch out! grin
Muse you're welcome to pop in at any time, especially as you've evoked special memories!
Vera had an Aunt and Uncle living in Par; he was a GWR train driver based at St.Austell and we spent many happy holidays staying with them sitting on the front garden seat gazing out over the Bay with its China Clay colouring!
Not quite Mediterranean Blue, but romantic enough for me to propose! blush
And that was that, as they say! grin
A very long time ago, but still vivid memories!
Thank you!
