Celebs That You Rather Like, Actually?

Hello Everyone! ?

As a companion thread to nanna8's 'irrational dislikes on sight'.

Who, in the public eye, do you think comes across as rather a good egg?

Extra points if the celeb in question is usually found in the other camp
(is there anyone out there who actually likes Schofield or Holden??)

For me, it's Rylan Clarke-Neal.
I think that he is a TV natural, and he seems really warm and friendly.
I'd really like to be his mate.

So, which Celebs do you have a soft spot for, and why?

Thank you!

I heard an interview with Peston on Radio 4. He said he's never had a stammer and never speaks like that in real life, or even when being interviewed. (And he didn't, its true) So, I have to surmise that it's put on for effect. Why he does it, I have no idea.

I didn’t know that.

I forgot to add Robert Peston to my list, I know many people find him irritating, he does have strange style of delivery, but I read somewhere that he once had a bad stammer he overcame, so I imagine that has something to do with his weird interjections.

Stephen Mangan, yes he's nice.

Definitely George Michael, I’m a huge fan and was devastated when he died. He was generous and sincere, gorgeous to look at and as for that divine voice….❤️

Sat next to Alexander Armstrong on a plane once. He was lovely. Can't stand his programs on Classic FM though, sorry!

I am enjoying watching the mannerisms and style of Stanley Tucci, in that tour of Italy programme. He is so funny, charming, well mannered and speaks Italian so politely to the locals. How many other presenters can do that? Apparently he was a model in a previous career, he has such poise and moves so elegantly. I am mesmerised!

I'm a bit confused about the upset of the shooting of game too. I used to be a real townie but I live in a very agricultural part of the country and people shoot game here, I don't know how much enjoyment is involved, but they take it home and skin and eat it or shove it in the freezer or it's hung for days. We have hooks outside of our house which we don't use but I know what they are for. My family wont eat game s I don't even buy it but I don't feel cross with people for shooting and eating their own food (with licence)

Alan Titchmarsh seems lovely and genuine. My daughter met him on the train once. Dame Maggie Smith and Dame Judy Dench, legends!

Alegrias1 Sun 27-Jun-21 18:37:04

Phil Spencer. It was 10 years ago. He took it home, cooked and ate it. If any of you are eating meat, consider that at least he was honest enough to kill it himself. Lots of other people hunt. What do you feel about Prince William for instance? Catherine?

BTW, I've been vegetarian for 30 years.

Millie22 Sun 27-Jun-21 18:30:35

That's horrid. How could that be an ambition.

Kate1949 Sun 27-Jun-21 18:27:04

Millie It was an ambition of his. He was thrilled with himself.
