It astonishes me how people are so quick to say, not just that they don't like the memorial statue, but that it is horrible!
When you, perhaps, place a memorial stone on your loved one's grave, how will you feel when everyone looks at it and says "yeugh" that's awful, it doesn't honour him/her in any way.
This memorial was what the family agreed to, they believe it is a picture of Diana's character, her caring side. I am sure they did not want a shiny mirror image which only demonstrated her looks. This statue will remain for possibly hundreds of years - it has a lot to say to us, now, and others in the future.
