Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where will have rain later. Glad to hear better news of Jax's DGD. Now all we need is good news about Grannyactivist's too.

Beds stripped, roast slow cooking and then I'm off to return something to Sainsbury's. Nothing else planned, but a day of rest.
DD is not best pleased that I turned down the foot op. I suspect she will be up later, (despite the road being closed) to nag show her concern! ? She even offered to come and stay for the six weeks, I would be in plaster. I don't think I would survive the trail of chaos, she would leave behind her. grin.

Wishing you all apleasant Sunday.

Morning from cloudy S Lanarkshire. A very happy day in the rain yesterday with DD1 and 16 and 17 years old granddaughters. Dawyck Gardens were lovely, filled with a huge variety of plants and trees which we spent a lot of time sheltering under. The girls were dressed in the height of fashion but soon reverted to being toddlers and ran about having a great time!
Dd and I were suitably clad for a day out in Scotland, and stayed dry while having lots of time to chat.

A quiet day planned today, church and a walk if it stays dry and a fair bit of tidying if my resolve holds.

Wishing everyone the best day possible??

Good morning from a cloudy Ilfacombe. Not as wet yesterday as forecast but wet enough at times. I think today is similar. DS2 wants to visit Cornwall (anywhere will do) so DH is going to do do a section of the coastal path further west and will walk back here to Ilfacombe leaving us free to wander without having to worry about timing to pick him up.
Thinking of those with poorly GC’s today. Take care and stay safe everyone.?

Good morning from a soggy and overcast Brixham.
We and our friends enjoyed our anniversaries yesterday. Thank you for the good wishes.
There was lots of reminiscing as we have all know each other for over 40 years and our families have grown up together.
Not sure what we will be doing today but I think our friends that live here have some ideas.
Hope you can all enjoy your Sunday and thinking of all with troubles of any kind.
Wishing you all a smile along your way.

Good morning from a grey and damp Torbay.
Gardening and dog walking today, not much else , a nice peaceful day I hope.
Wishing everyone a good day xx

Good morning and it’s a grey one.
We’re off to DS2 in Hertfordshire today. We haven’t been there for 18 months and they’ve had a lot done to the house and garden, so it will be good to see. Looking forward to seeing them all .

We will leave little pooch with DS1 so she can have a romp with their very large French Briard.

Nephew phoned to say they had a great week at our cottage by the sea. The weather wasn’t wonderful but they enjoyed it all the same. They are now back in London .

Alizirin glad your coffee morning went ahead. ☕️

Oh dear Scentia . Fawlty Towers springs to mind ?

dragonfly I too must address my weight. I have my nieces wedding to go to in September and I have a lovely dress I would like to wear. I had it for one of the GC christening and only worn it once. It’s a little in the tight side. ?.

Must crack on as we are leaving at 10 and I’m still in my pjs.

Wishing you all a GOOD day. ?

Good morning from a grey but dry NE.
Very quiet day yesterday, pushed the vacuum around the ground floor and flicked a duster.
Sister and BIL brought me some shopping and home grown vegetables. We chatted for an hour and had a drink, it has become something of a Saturday ritual.
DH and I did not fancy a large meal last night so we ate an apple and raspberry tart between us with a big jug of custard, can't remember the last time I enjoyed anything so much.
DH watched the football last night and I watched Rocketman on Netflix, I don't particularly like Elton John's music but I wanted to know about his early years.
Thinking of ga's GD and hoping she is feeling better today.

Good morning. Bright today in Cheshire. Not much planned but am ok with that.
In my teaching days if a child had written that sentence I would have sent them back to write something more interesting !

Good morning all from grey Harrogate
Yesterday evening had unexpected visitors- DD2 and her friend. DD had lost her house keys ? so was locked out. She wanted to know if I had a spare key (I thought I had) but couldn’t find it anywhere. We took a load of spare keys and screwdrivers to her house, but to no avail. Eventually admitting defeat, she called a locksmith who eventually turned up and let them in.
Today will be uneventful, I hope!
Undecided whether to go to church, or to visit the virtual church.
Hope your knee is better Beechnut
Your allotment sounds interesting alizarin. Your GD looks sweet.
Hope everyone has a good ? day

Good morning all from a dull and cloudy Welwyn in Herts. Looks like it will rain at some point in the day. However we've had three lovely consecutive days when I did washing each day and they dried very quickly.
DS3 will visit later on in the morning to take DH with him to do some work together. He asked for a fry up for breakfast so I will get cracking with that soon. While they are out will make a couple of brown breads for myself, DH likes white so it will last me most of the week, one for fresh and one for the freezer.
Wishing you all a good day whatever you may be doing.

Good morning from cloudy Colchester. Feels humid.
Up early with DGS3 who is a bundle of energy. Everyone else is still snoring as we were disturbed by football fans into the wee hours!
It's DD1s birthday today, so we'll return her sons to her later!!

Love to all x

Good morning from Staffordshire.

We are staying in the hotel where DD2 got married.Lovely room and lovely views☺️Today is finally Barnaby’s baptism after several cancellations due to lockdowns. He is very excited for his ‘party’ afterwards as a bouncy castle has been booked.
His outfit of choice was his Spider-Man costume?however once he had tried on his smart outfit he was pretty impressed with how he looked?

I bet your DGD is having a great time Alizarin.⛺️

Sorry you have a bad knee Beechnut.Hope it improves as the day goes on.

I hope Imogen has had a comfortable night.

Thinking of all our absent friends and all unwell and with worries?

Have a good day all??

Good morning from an overcast Crewe, following an evening of thundery showers.

I’m part of that same research programme, grandMattie and have to self administer a blood test when I’m home to check for Covid-19 antibodies. It arrived on the day I left. Sorry about your knee, Beechnut. Does wearing a support help?

Yesterday afternoon, the family went to a BBQ for DS's partner's 50th. She's 10 years older than him. Although I could have joined them, I'm taking things carefully for a few days and was quite happy having a Zoom here with DH. Never thought I'd see the day when I'd choose to miss a social gathering! I am feeling better for the break but didn’t relish standing around outside, especially when it was a wet forecast.

They were home to watch the match, by which time DD2 had received notification of a case of Covid-19 in her school. As Dep Head, it is her responsibility to notify parents of the pupils in the relevant year group electronically that their children must isolate. She spent the rest of the evening fending off questions from parents. I must say she is more patient than I would be!

Wishing everyone a blessed Sunday and thinking of grannyactivist's very poor DGD. ✝️

Morning Mick, morning All from a soggy if currently bright corner of Somerset.

Carpenters came yesterday, seemed both pleasant and knowledgeable, now we must wait for their quote. Oh well, one thing ticked from the list. Goddaughter in too much of a muddle to phone, has threatened to this afternoon. A quiet day planned, some breakfast out and then who knows what, nothing stressful we hope.

Rain doesn’t seem to bother our family either Alizarin, those wet camp sites aren’t for me now. Don’t like the sound of that shower Scentia. Good luck to you both.

Take care everyone. Hope Sunday is gentle with us all.

brook2704 Sun 04-Jul-21 07:28:15

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s bright and dry, after some overnight rain which has freshened everything up.
Thanks for the lovely photo Alizarin I hope the camping trip is going well, always a good adventure whatever the weather!
Also for your DH Scentia I hope the weather isn’t hampering his ride too much. Your hotel sounds errr …interesting!
Yesterday I had a lovely day seeing DD2 and family in the morning and pottering in the garden in the afternoon. Today I’ll be continuing the ongoing battle with the weeds in the garden which are growing like mad at the moment.
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

dragonfly46 Sun 04-Jul-21 07:25:32

Sorry photos not arrived!

dragonfly46 Sun 04-Jul-21 07:23:32

Good morning, having had lovely weather in the Peak District it rained here last night back in Leicestershire.

The photos are of flowers outside the houses in the pretty village of Tideswell.

Must go for a walk this morning to try and lose some of the weight which has crept on.
Then Sainsbury delivery and roast beef tonight.

Wishing everyone a lovely day.

Scentia Sun 04-Jul-21 07:21:04

Sat in a hotel in Alston as DH is half way through the C2C ride. He got very wet yesterday and looks like more of the same today.
We watched the football in our hotel room as we were told there was no room in the bar downstairs, unfortunately the TV downstairs was a minute in front of ours so we knew when each of the 4 goals were coming?
Off for a shower in the cold dribble that passes for a shower here and then breakfast is beans on toast as they have no vegan offerings!
Have a happy Sunday everyone❤️

GrannyGravy13 Sun 04-Jul-21 07:03:38

Alizarin Sun 04-Jul-21 06:40:31

LauraNorder, I loved the cow photo yesterday!

Alizarin Sun 04-Jul-21 06:38:29

Good morning from a cool, damp south Cornwall. The rain stayed away for our allotment coffee morning, where we sat at picnic benches newly painted in ice cream colours, eating home made cakes. My knitted birds sat around on branches and small twins from one allotment family pleaded, 'Please can you knit us a seagull and a puffin.'

I'm assuming my son and granddaughter and friends survived a very wet night on Bodmin Moor. They do love a challenge! (Pic of my 5 year old in waterproofs.) Today I'm 'sitting' my 11-year-old grandson for a while and he'll love that because he can play games on his computer longer than usual while his dad his out...

Have the best day you can, everyone.

Beechnut Sun 04-Jul-21 06:34:18

Good Morning all from wet Severnside.

I’ve not had the best sleep during the night and my knee hurts this morning. I had to take it gently coming up the stairs with my tea.

I’ve got some ironing to do and some letters to write. The rest of the day I will potter.

Have a good day everyone ?

grandMattie Sun 04-Jul-21 06:25:32

Good morning from a grey E Kent.
Just done a CV19 test for research at Imperial College. The sample will be collected by courier between “8 am and 6pm”! I’m not sure what they are trying to prove apart from the fact that I may/not be infected at this very moment.
Virtual church again. DD preached a very interesting sermon last week, hope the preacher this week is as good.
May all in sick bay have a restful/peaceful/pain free day. Everyone else, enjoy the weather/your families or whatever you may be doing! ?????☀️?
