Good Morning Everyone,
Its bright sunny start here in Brackley tis morning , hopefully will remain like that .
Unsure who else has Windows 10 , but I got a upgrade on it a few weeks back which indicates weather and temperature locally at the time of day .
Today , a quiet day no Tour De France as its the 1st rest day , only thing of note is at lunchtime as Bargain Hunt with Charlie Ross , comes from the Antiques Cellar , Charlie apparently lives locally as well.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s wet again. Yesterday we had terrific thunderstorms so the garden has taken quite a battering.
DD2 has just left to drive home to Derbyshire. It’s been lovely to have some company. Towels and bedding to sort today.
Hope Imogen has a more comfortable day, the strapping men turn up, orders are forthcoming and appointments go well.
Have a good day everyone. Stay safe.

Good morning from a sunny North.

We had a lovely time with DD2 and her family celebrating her 40th birthday, have put the house back to rights and slept like logs.

dragonfly, I love Tideswell - we had a holiday home there for a while until we found we didn't gave much time to enjoy it.

Enjoy your days everyone.

Good morning. Very wet last ight in Chesire and more rain promised today !
ash and susan I live in the next village along from Cuddington and two miles from Nortwich ! Small world on Gransnet.
"Big shop" arriving this morning. I still wipe everything. Not a fun activity.
Think the restrictions must have affected my good taste ! Visited garden centre yesterday and bought some little flower solar lights and arranged on a bush in back garden. Now think they look naff.
Will come back later to read all posts.

Good morning from a damp but brightening Colchester. Mr Slow workman should be here any minute to lay our new front path. We've had a trench filled with hardcore to negotiate all weekend.
The back garden is looking good but we've noticed a few bits that we want him to put right ,but also we want him to just finish the jobs and go!!!

This morning we are visiting the car showroom to order a new vehicle. I have to go to make sure that DH doesn't spend too much or sign up for something unnecessary.

Ironing and watching Emma Radecanu this afternoon.

Lots of love x

dragonfly46 Mon 05-Jul-21 08:09:46

Good morning, as kitty says it is sunny in Leicestershire.

Not much on today - pick up a prescription and a laundry basket from Argos. Maybe a coffee in town.

Pleased to hear your DH is a little better Harrigran.

Will try and post the pics of Tideswell again.

Grandmajean Mon 05-Jul-21 08:11:12

Spelling also affected ! Northwich and night.

dragonfly46 Mon 05-Jul-21 08:11:48

Try again

Good morning all and it’s a bright start here in Essex.
Yesterday we set off for DS2 ‘s house in Hertfordshire in the pouring rain. By the time we got there it was hot and sunny. We had a lovely day with him and the family. Gorgeous roast dinner and lots of chat. Two gd’s 6 and 9 kept us entertained and then went off to play so the adults could catch up on all the grownup news. Their house has been completely transformed since we were last there, so it was great to see it in the flesh.

Today we have not much planned (lovely)! . I will pick up twin gs’s from their friends at some stage and bring them back here for something to eat and then pop them back home to await their parents and little sisters return from their weekend break.
Mick my Dh always watches Bargain Hunt. Charlie is a real character.

Safe journey home Ash

Jaxjack I hope Imogen’s pain subsides soon. ?
Ive watched the film ‘Yesterday’ twice now. Once at the cinema and once on tv. It is set in Suffolk, not far from our cottage. We did have a letter through asking if we would be willing to let our place for a scene in the film. Great excitement but we heard no more. They wanted somewhere isolated for the John Lennon scene. They chose Single Street in the end. Apparently Danny Boyle and his crew were seen have a look around our little hamlet.

Scentia I’ll be another still wearing a mask and using sanitizer.

Harrigran good to hear your DH is more mobile. ?

Susan I can just imagine Barnaby shouting ‘OI’ when the baptismal water tricked over his head. ?.

Marydoll hope your beef cakes make a good job of your decking. We need ours replaced too.

Wishing you all a safe, and pleasant day. ?
.

Good morning from a dreich day again here on the east coast of Fife. My ds wee dog came inside after her first constitution with a wet coat. Thank goodness my tummy upset has disappeared I’m now hungry after starving myself yesterday.

Poached egg for breakfast on that lovely brown bread we’ve got, that’s the cousins away home now it’s a pity they didn’t take my ds away with them. It’s been a while since we’ve had the house to ourselves.hey ho that’s our bed made now I think we’re stuck with herwink

My new settee is getting delivered today I hope it’s firm enough for us auld yin’s to get out of grin

I think it’s a rest day for all three of us today. We’ll soon need to get organised for the annual family BBQ, fingers crossed the weather will be good I do so enjoy seeing family get togethers otherwise we’ll have to exclude some folks. My house won’t be large enough to have them all inside.fingers crossed for a beautiful day near the end of July

Thinking of all in misery today life will get better I keep praying for better things to come for all, I believe life will improve and the sun will rise againsunshine

Gwenisgreat1 Mon 05-Jul-21 08:35:17

Good morning all from bright Harrogate
Yesterday while out walking the dog ? the heavens fell and I wis absolutely drookit. The Kagool I was wearing proved as useful as a chocolate teapot!!
Today will be a day of ironing and chatting to my school friend in Ayr. Then catching up with my sister in Surrey
marydoll if you have more strapping men than you can deal with you can always send one down here??
jax Imogen will be feeling vulnerable after her injury. Maybe if some school friends came to her home, she might feel they would be her shield?”
Have the best day possible folks

Good morning all from a village just outside a wet Northallerton in Yorkshire! We arrived yesterday afternoon and did a wander round Thirsk, before checking in at this lovely old inn. We are in a modern recently done up bedroom with super comfy bed, and the roast beef dinner last night was so fresh with lovely vegetables. I reckon to still be able to serve a perfect roast at 7.00pm on a Sunday night is a pretty good measure of the place. Nice touches like a flat sheet underneath the duvet in case we get hot and want to throw it off, and a thermos of fresh milk on the tea tray instead of those horrible UHT containers. The torrential rain on the velux kept we awake, but you can't have everything! Off to English Heritage's Mount Grace Priory if the weather eases up. We have received a photo from the cat sitters of our two boys basking in the sunshine!

Have a safe trip back Ash, I haven't ever been to a festival! I'm glad Imogen is improving. I do hooe the same is true of Grannyactivist's GD in hospital. Take care everyone.

ginny Mon 05-Jul-21 08:45:45

Good morning. Blue sky over Brixham at the moment.
We are going to take a trip to Nos Mayo and the surrounding area today. Taking a picnic which will be eaten this evening if we should find a pub / restaurant that suits for lunch.
Hope you all find something to enjoy and smile about today.

Anniebach Mon 05-Jul-21 08:47:27

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Mapleleaf Mon 05-Jul-21 08:51:07

Good morning,
It's bright at the moment, but clouds are building up so I think more rain is on the way for South Yorkshire. We had another storm yesterday but managed to get to the garden centre and back before it started. More plants bought ?.
A general chores day today then maybe read my book.
Take care everyone.

amselerin Mon 05-Jul-21 08:51:24

Good morning Mick and all from sunny, warm Lueneburg. Yesterday was an exciting day for me. My friends daughter got confirmed with a lot of other children about 14/15 years of age. For a year prior they have been to lessons with the vicar. This confirmation is a big thing on becoming an adult here. We all went to the Cathedral in the next village (not a large one like Ely). It`s only a very small village. It was a very touching service. We all had to wear masks though. Afterwoods we went to a lovely restaurant. My DIL, her partner and my granddaughter (who is going to be confirmed in September, she lives in Hamburg) were also there. The first time for like 2 years that I was at such a large event. I absolutely enjoyed the time.
Today just a bit more ironing and gardening. Still too hot for Waldi (my dog) to go for a walk.
So nice to see pictures of places and events. A very hopeful thread this morning.
I am thinking of all of you with worries. Keep well.

monk08 Mon 05-Jul-21 08:52:05

Good morning from a cloudy Black country, the sun was shining when I woke but it has now disappeared. After yesterday's continual downpour was hoping for better today.
Again a day with nothing planned but can usually find something that needs doing.
Hugs for those with worries and thoughts for missing posters flowers
Enjoy your day and may you all find some ?.

Nannagarra Mon 05-Jul-21 08:53:25

Good morning from the Sefton coast where it woolly jumper and waterproof coat weather imo. Yesterday the roads were flooded here.
As the forecast is for more rain, I think I’ll do housework today.
Scentia - I’ll be using masks and sanitiser for quite a long time to come. (I may well be the last shopper to have a face covering!) Fingers crossed business improves for you.
I hope Imogen has a comfortable day, that the pain lessens and her skin soon heals. She’s sounds a very brave young lady, Jaxjacky.
Having popped into the Argy on Friday for the tribute to our much-missed member jet, I noticed a contribution from her daughter, flyingvisit. Since then I’ve wondered if EV’s daughter could post…I’m also conscious that it’s a while since I’ve read anything on GM from Taichinan: I hope she’s okay.
For those with troubles, may your mountains become molehills. Have the best day possible.
?????

Alygran Mon 05-Jul-21 08:59:49

B9 welcome to my little bit of Yorkshire. Enjoy your stay.

Greyduster Mon 05-Jul-21 09:09:49

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It’s fairly bright in our bit of South Yorkshire at the moment, but all bets are off as to whether it will stay that way. We had downpours of biblical proportions yesterday with thunder and lightening. I have a mountain of ironing to do today and DH has volunteered to clean the bathrooms (he just doesn’t know it yet!?). Have a good day, one and all.

Esspee Mon 05-Jul-21 09:12:16

Good morning all from a very damp Glasgow where we currently have what is locally called a smir. We have a wide range of terms for rain (presumably because we traditionally see so much of it)
Yesterday after lunch it was stoatin doon and you could almost hear my grass whooping for joy.
We had a lovely walk by the sea yesterday morning and an excellent brunch in the sun arriving home just before the deluge. Monday is my day for heavy housework so I am procrastinating ATM.
Hope everyone has a great week.

Nannagarra Mon 05-Jul-21 09:23:27

Super photos today. An amazing bubble Alizarin.
Help! Even more words used north of the border which I don’t understand. ?

LauraNorder Mon 05-Jul-21 09:38:50

Good morning Mick and all from wonderful Anglesey. This morning the sky is bright blue with puffy little white clouds. The grass looks so green after overnight rain and the hedgerows are full of pink campion.
Sorry to hear that Imogen is in pain Jax and she’s feeling a bit nervous about being bumped, not surprised.
I didn’t know that there was a tribute for Grandmajet in the Argy. Very fitting, she was such a fun lady with a great sense of humour.
The Indian Summer Festival looks good Ash, nice to see that folk can still enjoy themselves albeit with some caution.
I’m another who won’t be giving up my mask in indoor public settings any time soon. Another winter without a dose of flu is not to be sniffed at.
Thank you all for the anniversary wishes yesterday, we had a lovely time with garden visits from two sons and three grandchildren followed by a romantic paddle along the shore line in the evening holding hands like teenagers.
Thanks everyone for lovely photos each day, I do like to see where you are and what you’re doing. That is a monster of a bubble Alizarin.
The canal view from the hotel is beautiful Susan and the pots full of colour and interest are stunning Dragonfly, although I imagine lots of watering would be required.
Hope business picks up soon Scentia, quite a worry for you.
Good wishes for better times for all with worries, be they large or small ?

Blossoming Mon 05-Jul-21 09:48:51

Good morning all from Lancashire. We have had sunshine followed by black cloud this morning, but no rain forecast. More stuff to go to the charity shop today and hoping to do some work in the garden.

May everyone with troubles find some ease today.

hollysteers Mon 05-Jul-21 10:28:47

Good morning Mick and all from a cloudy northwest Lancashire coast. Thank god stomach settled down so will catch up after a day or so of tiptoeing around, Going to write some postcards from my trip to Harewood House (very old fashioned thing to do) to friends and relatives not internet savvy. It’s nice to get something through the post.
Sad conversation yesterday with my confused brother in law on the telephone who talks about being visited by my late husband, sometimes he says he’s in the room, it gives me quite an odd feeling,
.Thoughts to jax Imogen and hope you enjoy Bargain Hunt Mick.
Friday’s watercolour.

LauraNorder Mon 05-Jul-21 10:38:02

Hollysteers, that watercolour, wow.
