Good morning from an overcast NE.
It was a miserable day yesterday, more like October than summer. I spent the day washing and I had everything ironed by teatime.
Today the security company are coming to install new lights, replacing the halogen ones with LED ones. I don't think it is going to rain, when they came to replace the cameras they got drenched.
Have a good Tuesday.

Good morning from Shropshire.

DD finished work early yesterday as unwell and had been sent to have a Covid test.We are now waiting to hear if the test is positive in which case we will have to isolate.

Have a good day all??

Alygran Tue 13-Jul-21 08:30:59

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s very dull so we may have some rain again.
Yesterday we had torrential downpours but I had a lovely time catching up with a friend.
Today I should have been going out to lunch but the hostess has cancelled as she isn’t well. So I have an empty!
Will get on with some paperwork for my charity and go out for a walk.
Love the knitted food Alizarin.
Hope everyone has a good day. Stay safe.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a grey, damp South Yorkshire. Yesterday turned out to be one of those days where you have nothing to do and suddenly little jobs start springing up all over the place! Today I have an antibody test to do for UK Biobank and it sounds like a complete faff. They want a 600mm blood sample, which is quite a lot to get from a finger. I’ll have to wring it out! Other than that, nothing special on the cards. Have a good day, folks, whatever you’re doing.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s cloudy but warm.

Love your knitting Alizarin, so clever.

Yesterday’s afternoon at DD’s house was so lovely, an all female gathering. There was lots of tea and cake and chat with the children running around our feet in the sunshine. Bliss.

Today I’m meeting an old school friend for lunch in the village where I grew up. The restaurant is across the street from my old primary school, now converted to apartments, and the street where we lived. I always enjoy a nostalgic wander.

Have a peaceful day everyone. ???

Good morning from the Black country it started out sunny but has now clouded over.
Lovely walk yesterday at RSPB nature reserve met with a birdwacher who was very knowledgeable describing various birds to us.
Garden centre today the farm shop has its deliveries, will stop and have coffee and cake if queue not to long. If not will go to the next centre just along they have a nice cafe with a pool nice outlook but cakes not quite as nice.
Enjoy your day and may you all find some ?.

Good morning.
Blue skies on the Lizard peninsula this morning. We are going to head to St. Ives on the North coast. If it is too busy we will travel on to somewhere quieter.
Wishing you all a pleasant day with a smile along the way.

Morning Mick and all

It’s grey here, the Imp is strapped into his High Chair devouring a banana, his brother has just gone into school, it will be interesting to see how today pans out?
His brother will sleep over this evening. One of my other GC is now home isolating as someone on his class has tested positive, he has had all his leaving assembly’s , presentations etc cancelled, not happy as he will only get one last day in his primary school, then it’s off to High School in September.

Gingster we have Barleylands earmarked for a summer holiday day out.

I have finally decided to fully retire, haven’t been into the Office since March 2020. I know the business is in safe hands, our three youngest work and now control it. Being a bit of a control freak I am surprisingly content with my decision.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Alizarin Tue 13-Jul-21 08:47:52

A wedding in Barcelona Elizabeth. Wow, what a lovely invitation.

NanKate Tue 13-Jul-21 08:57:47

Commiserations Cornergran regarding grandchildren in isolation. My DS has his sons 50% of the time and also has a very pressurised career, fortunately working from home. He said he was worried that my DGS 10 would have excessive use of the IPad (with his other isolating friends). I told him not to worry, let him do what he wants for 10 days, it won’t scar him for life !

Gingster Tue 13-Jul-21 09:06:31

No Marydoll today ? ?

cornergran Tue 13-Jul-21 09:16:01

It is hard for the whole family isn’t it nanKate. Our isolator is a six year old hurricane. Very cross and emotional, definitely not cooperating with home schooling. Like you we’ve given a don’t worry message to his juggling parents. They have to stay sane too! It’s hard not to worry about these adult children of ours. Hope it settles for your son and he can still manage his workload.

Dwmxwg Tue 13-Jul-21 09:23:18

Cornergran enjoy Lacock, it is a special place for us. We had our post wedding lunch at The Sign of the Angel (just four of us with mum and dad).

Party4 Tue 13-Jul-21 09:23:20

Morning all from West Yorks. We also have DGD and DIL isolating, difficult making arrangements for DGS still attending school/activities.SCENTIA such a reward having the DGC when you can begin your own little routines we have been Wed care for 12yrs and although exhausted by 7pm wouldnt have missed it for world.Over tea we have claps for achievements since previous week, sometimes it's for being so kind and helpful, thought it would have been dropped by now but no they love it.
The knitted foods are so cute, I do wish I had some talents in crafting, basic pre school is my limit so I admire all you GN with such skills.Need to shop birthday cards today, do love a nice card with appropriate verse but apart from a local chain selling at sensible prices where everyone goes not much choice out there.
Have good day look forward to the forecasted good weather.
Thoughts to those with illness and worries.

Good Morning everyone from a cooler, (high 20’s), sunny and extremely windy (roaring off the Pyrenees) South of France.

Today I/we really should do something about our garage/workshop involving a trailer, lots of piling up, vacuuming, cleaning and a few visits to the dump, I think. It’s getting me down and I know I’ll be totally energised once it’s done. So hate a mess and so hate hearing ‘we should’……so aim to turn that into ‘we will, and now we have’.

Congrats on the retirement decision, GG.even for controllers (like me too) there comes the day when we have to let go, if only to have a lot more fun doing something else! Enjoy it all and the GC’s - and stay well.

Loved the knitted picnic food, Alizarin, so clever. Hope the hip’s getting easier every day. Hope your leg’s improving, muse, and your taking it easy for a while has worked to remove the fainting feelings, Blossoming. If it’s hot, you sound as if you’ve been doing too much Amsel - listen to Waldi, she’s got the right idea!

Hope it’s nothing Covid for your DD, Susan. Life’s still a worry, isn’t it. Looks as if Covid passports for indoor and large events, including restaurants, will be the norm here and obligatory after 1st August. (Always have to give people notice in this country. Is that so they can all go and get infected in the meantime?) Anyway, it will certainly make me feel better!

Very wise to try to deflect any infections so close to your holiday, Blue. Have yourself a lovely time.

For all not able to go away, hope you all get some sunshine and enough happy meet ups with friends and family to bring on the smiles.
Warmest wishes and hugs from ?? France.
????‍♀️?

Good Morning Mick and Morningsters.

Cornish clouds but the sun is peeping through. Mya is enjoying lying on path outside the porch now.

Long lie in and slept so well. Doing more walking helps. After a late dinner last night MrM decided to get a pipe ready for installation today. Groundwork Phil bas recovered from his football hangover and back this morning. MrM came to bed at nearly 2:00am after having tended to a cut on his arm, Something flew off as he was drilling through the pipe?. He fell asleep immediately, as he always does. Just had a wander over to the site for a chat and to find out how he is. Not too bad was his reply. Hope so.

Little planned here, except I've built up to my usual long, up and down, walk with Mya but will watch straining this calf too much. Mower will be out for a few short sessions in low gear later this afternoon. MrM is getting his dressing changed at the surgery midday. This two year old horse fly bite still lingers. I've just arranged a huge, massive transfer from our savings. The build is reaching an expensive stage. It's a 90 day savings account - so lots of notice needed.

Ali. Fantastic, fun food knits. Very clever.

Jax Missing those three too.

Dragonfly96 My pilates tutor is in her sixties and most of us are around her age. Youngest looks about 50. It makes such a difference the age of others at the class. A lot of young ones would put me off too.

Espee. I have a pescatarian daughter so am always looking for dishes I can adapt when she visits.

Susan56. Do you have a pack of the free lateral flow test kits? They can be order from Gov.Uk site. I'm going out more so am doing the test fairly regularly,

Good luck with that trip to St Ives Ginny. My family took the train there two weeks ago and the town was heaving. They only stayed an hour.

More GC at home either testing positive or isolating?. My DGD (14) is now fully recovered. She was so poorly. Mum had it too. Step son coped really well looking after them all , especially little GS who has autism.

Take care everyone ????

dragonfly46 Tue 13-Jul-21 10:16:30

Yes Muse I would have enjoyed a class with people more my age but it is run by a cancer charity and free. I am shocked at how young some of the others are and saddened at how scared and worried they are.

Jaxjacky Tue 13-Jul-21 10:20:42

GG13 good decision, I’m sure you’ll remain comfortable with it. Good to hear you’re recovering steadily muse, I’ve got flowers on everything in the greenhouse.
DD just messaged, looks like Fin has an ear infection, if it’s not one it’s the other! But Imogen’s burn is healing well after a week, pictures show the difference, that’s youth for you.

Blossoming Tue 13-Jul-21 10:23:41

Good morning all, another warm and rather muggy day here in Preston. I have managed not to faint or fall for a whole 24 hours, but as I was mostly sitting or lying down I guess that helped! I felt really hot but my temperature was only 35.4. My blood pressure was 118/80 so no problem there. From past experience these ‘episodes’ pass after a couple of days of feeling washed out. The awful ‘fuzzy head’ feeling has passed anyway. Mr. B has done the shopping, I have laundry needing doing, but the washing machine does the hard work. Other than that I will go carefully today. Hope you all have the best day possible, will pop back later for a catch up.

Blossoming Tue 13-Jul-21 10:27:06

Jaxjacky that does look well healed, glad she is doing OK.

Nannytopsy Tue 13-Jul-21 10:37:48

Good morning Mick and all his followers. Bright here in Suffolk with occasional sunny spells.
That’s a very sad comment at the end of your post, dragonfly.
DH is dozing inside and I am outside after a bad night. We had DGC overnight and I leapt out of bed at 4am convinced we had overslept for tha school run. It’s the sort of thing I did when I was working. DH couldn’t understand what was going on, so of course then we were both wide awake. We are picking them up at three, then that’s it for this week - I think!
The first load of many is in the washing machine and I shall gently potter round deadheading and doing a little ladylike weeding. ?
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 13-Jul-21 10:53:13

Hope our Marydoll is OK ??
