Proof that looks aren't everything

I had a Cockatiel that loved to dance and nod her head to music,i miss her.

Some parrots don't enjoy a sing song though.

I had a budgie as a child.
He spoke, and said nursery rhymes, but he was very aggressive.
They hurt!!

She's a goffins cockatoo, I think.
Lots like music.

There seem to be plenty of videos of similar birds (is she a cockatoo?) ‘dancing’ so maybe it’s a natural reaction to music?

I’d love a parrot-type bird but I know they’re high-maintenance and need a great deal of care. My brother and I had two budgies when we were children and I loved those birds with a passion. Times have changed, though.

They were told before they fostered her.
Her original owner died, and his family took her in, but they couldn't cope with her squawking, so eventually she was put in the cellar.
There are plenty of other videos of her dancing, and particularly with her "daddy".
She still bites "mummy", because she's a one person kinda chick.

How are they aware of all that past history and the mistreatment?

I like to think the bird is dancing but I wonder if the music is incidental and her movements are a manifestation of anxiety. Animals in distress often perform repetitive movements - bears swinging their heads backwards and forwards, etc. It's already explained that her difficult past is the reason for her pulling her feathers out.

I don't think it's selfish to not want parrot - I think it's selfish to have one unless, as in this case, it is a rescue bird.

Oh no, but I wish she was.
She belongs to a couple who foster parrots, although obviously they adopted her when they saw what a mover she is.
I've always been intrigued by parrots, but I'm far too selfish to have one.

She was locked in a cellar in her cage for years, and has health problems, but such a happy little soul.
