Of course we all have the right to question any statement made on here, but using the same courtesy…….as you would use when speaking to someone face-to-face (from the GN guidelines). Would you really start a conversation with someone you’ve met for the first time with Utter garbage?

If a statement is clearly unsubstantiated and false I think that I have every right to question it. It is also a gross generalisation. There maybe some lazy weed smokers but there are also some very industrious users of the drug.

I would have thought that MISSchatelaine was a clear indication of my being female and if anyone was aware of the lovely song of the same name by KD Lang might be able to ascertain other details about me.

Possibly when you said you smoked as a youth? I’ve never heard that word applied to a young woman, so I can understand the confusion from someone who hasn’t come across you before.

Regardless of what I think of your views, leaping on those of others as utter garbage as you did is arrogant and rude, and you can hardly be surprised when they bite back. The opinions and experiences of others are just as valid as yours.

We gave it to my mum in her final days, my sister was having a smoke near the window and my mum said that smells lovely can I have one. So we gave it to her, I must say it also eased her pain and made her a lot calmer. My sister smoked it because as she said if she didn’t she would have to take anti-depressants. In fact when my upper back was giving me such pain it was unbearable I did wonder if smoking weed would help.

I don’t think it’s illegal for home use espee it is for growing or selling or large amounts but I don’t think it is for small amounts in your own home
I get it from both sides of my house ?
I don’t think police would do anything for home use and to be honest they d never stop knocking on doors if they did it’s extremely common usage
The best one was last year my daughter and I were in the sea and I said to her ‘can you smell weed’ she said ‘yes it’s very strong’ we were both puzzled being in the sea then a lilo floated past with a middle aged to older man lying on his back puffing away we couldn’t help laughing it was such a strange thing to see

My DS and his girl used to smoke a bing all the time at our house when students. I hated it but their alternative location was the woods behind the house where rabbits shoot at nights and I was scared to death they'd be injured by accident. Any amount of pleading didn't stop them either . I hated it! He still smokes at 38 and it's blighted his career which is now no. Existent. He has a poorly paid boring job instead of being the pharmacist he qualified as....

I don’t think the police would be interested but asking them politely to move down the garden would be reasonable.

The police are duty bound to respond to any callouts. Quickly or otherwise, they will visit and caution.best to ask first to moderate smoking location

Would you be equally upset if they were just smoking ordinary tobacco OP? Because if it’s just the fact that it’s weed that you don’t like, then I think you’re being unreasonable.

It's NOT unreasonable to expect your personal space at home to be smoke free especially weed free! The point is that the drift is getting into the house and GD is maybe experiencing some exposure. If the neighbours were equally reasonable which I'm sure they'll be if they're pot smokers-then a quiet word I'm sure will be well received. But it's not being unreasonable in my opinion.

Im more than happy to have a PM conversation with you and even a facetime/Skype call with you where we can discuss facts but I'm not prepared to go into more detail on an open forum.

I dont actuality like the smell if weed particularly skunk which i think is revolting. I really don't like the effects that weed has on me and I no longer smoke anything and haven't done for years. But I've no problem with other people smoking it including my wife and other professional friends.
I fully get that it can be a very dangerous drug and occasionally a gateway drug for some. But this is not the case for everyone who smokes weed just as not everyone who enjoys alcohol is not necessarily an alcoholic.
There is a connection between young males starting to smoke in the mid to late teens and it is recognised that this may be to mask the onset of other mental health issues. It certainly was very difficult to get treatment for these young men who required dual diagnosis. It may be easier now.

The catastrophic effects of cannabis on the brains of young people is not to be underestimated..The strain on mental health services and the crime caused by the effects of addiction and repurcussions on farm ilies of dealing with mentally ill young people who have ruined their liives with cannabis and other substances mean that I personally would come down like a ton of bricks on anyone contaminating the air I breathe if I had neighbours moronic enough to smoke weed that I can smell coming into my house and garden..I have a godson whose life has been wrecked by his addiction to weed at university..

Secondly I’m now retired but I worked as a substance abuse worker for many years in residential settings and for 15 years in a professional criminal justice setting. I actually think that it’s extremely rude of you to make the comments that you have made. You have no idea who I am and what I did as a profession.

I recognise what she is saying, I have watched a member of my family take this drug which then lead on to other things, the effects of this have been catastrophic on the person concerned and the rest of the family.
You have a very blinkered view on this, and I suspect on other things, god help anyone who comes across you in the criminal justice system that you work purport to work in (Walter Mitty I suspect).

I went to view a (rented) house a few wks ago, and as i viewed the back garden/yard i could smell it- it put me right off after my last neighbours shenanigans.?when i went back inside i mentioned it to the landlord who was showing me round.. i think that house is still on the market.

This one made me laugh. I take CBT cannabis oil for pain. A neighbour in our street was clearly smoking cannabis and I would wake up in my garden with arms dangling beside me. I was knocked out cold. Wasnt worried. Couldn't feel any pain. The smell was so strong in the street someone from Neighbour Watch reported it. Hence the smell stopped, and I am still in pain. Horses for courses I suppose

No I don’t smoke the stuff any more, but I’ve probably smoked more of it for longer in my life than you have and had a very professional career. I still think your comments are unsubstantiated garbage.

I am taken aback at how many people are accepting this as normal. It's still illegal. Any person using it for genuine medical purposes will have it prescribed. It's totally different from street drugs to which people are referring. Prescribed means it's clinically clean and controlled. I see a few people arguing it's not a police or council matter which it totally is. Again, it's for pain...so many people smoke it as if it's a majority or something. Truly not the case but the justification of users or ex users. It can I've time cause untold harm 're mental illness even to the point of irreversible psychosis.

I think you'll find it is extremely difficult to find a doctor who is willing to prescribe cannabis, even though it has been legalised for medical use in some instances.

Cannabis is far less toxic than tobacco, although who would want either drifting into a baby's room?

a few years ago the daughter of one of my friends had her child taken away (she was staying with a deadbeat) and sent to live with grandparents, they smoked it all the time in the house in front of the child, social work visited every week and did nothing about it. most of it is grown in the uk so there is so much of it about, police only give a fine, a relative uses it everyday, they just make a call and it gets delivered, he uses it to manage pain, i have never tried it, the smell gives me a headache. i would just ask them if they could move further down the garden or leave her window shut.
